Basic unisex socks S size (6.5-7 size = 9-9 ½ inches length foot). These socks are knitted from top to
bottom without a seam in a circle. This is a very fun and quick sock project. These are thick home socks. This
will be the perfect knitted gift for your loved ones for any occasion.
At the end of the file, you will find the QR-codes for the video tutorials included in the pattern. Use your
smartphone camera to scan the QR-codes to view the video. This is useful if you are printing instructions.

YARN:
Aran weight yarn: The original yarn used in the pattern – Alize Wooltime – 2 skeins (75% wool, 25%
polyamide) 3.53 oz/219 yds (100 gm/200 mt).
I can also recommend the following yarns: Regia 6-Ply 1 skein (75% wool, 25% polyamide) 5.3 oz/276 yds (150
gm/252 mt) or Novita 7 Brothers 2 skeins 75% Wool/ 25% Polyamide 3.53 oz/219 yds (100 gm/200 mt).
More socks yarn: Webs USA, Knitpicks Europa, Lovecrafts UK, Woolwarehouse, Sew-shop
I also recommend choosing a thread with a small amount of polyamide in the composition. This will make your
socks stronger.
NEEDLES AND ACCESSORIES
Circular needles 31"-40" (80-100 cm) long (and the magic loop technique) or one set of 4 Double
Pointed Needles size 21/2 US (3.00 mm). Or size needed to obtain tension. Try both and use whichever
you are most comfortable with.

GAUDE: Stockinette stitch: 25 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches (10 cm)

START KNITTING
I used the magic loop method.
But you can use a set of 4 double pointed needles.
Simply divide into 3 needles (first needle 24 stitches, second needle 12 stitches, third needle 12 stitches).
When knitting the heel flap you have to join the stitches of the second and third knitting needles to one
knitting needle.
CUFF
Cast on 48 sts.
Divide into 24 sts on circular needles. Join to work in the rnd, being careful not to twist. Place marker to mark
beg of rnd (optional).
Rnds 1-17 (until cuff measures 2 in/ 5 cm): Work in 1x1 ribbed (alt k1, p1).
LEG
Rnd 1: Work in stockinette stitch (all knit sts).
Rnd 2: [k3, p] to end.
Repeat rnds 1-2 for pattern until leg measures 2 1/2 in/ 6.5 cm (approximately 12 rnds).
Preparatory round: k24 (first circular needle), k23 (second circular needle). Move the last stitch of the round
(purl st of the previous rnd) to the first circular needle. (25 sts on first circular needle and 23 sts on second
circular needle). Turn work.
HEEL FLAP
The heel flap is worked back and front across the second 23 sts as follows:
Row 1 (WSR): Sl 1 p-wise, p22, turn.
Row 2 (RSR): Sl 1 p-wise, k22, turn.
Rows 3-19 (until heel flap measures 2 in/ 5 cm): repeat rows 1-2.
HEEL TURN
Start work from the wrong side row.
Row 1 (WSR): Sl 1 p-wise, p14, p2tog, turn.

Row 2 (RSR): Sl 1 p-wise, k7, ssk, turn.
Row 3 (WSR): Sl 1 p-wise, p7, p2tog, turn.
Rows 4-13: Repeat rows 2-3.
Row 14 (RSR): Sl 1 p-wise, k7, ssk.
End work on the heel in the right side row. 9 heel sts.
GUSSET
Resume working in the round.
Pick up and knit 10 sts along the side of the heel flap.
Next 25 sts work in leg pattern across the front of your sock (start with purl st): [p, k3] 6 times, p. Place marker
(optional).
Pick up and knit 10 sts along the side of the heel flap. 54 sts needles.
Knit across the heel sts, then k down the first set of new sts you picked up on the left side. You've reached the
end of the rnd, and all your sts have now been picked up.
*Note: From here on out you will only be knitting the leg pattern across the first 25 sts, which makes up the
top of your sock. The sole of your sock (the last 23) sts will be knit in stockinette.
DECREASES GUSSET
Rnd 1: Work in leg pattern across 25 sts, sl marker, k1, ssk, k around to 3 sts before the end of rnd, k2tog, k1.
Rnd 2: Work without decreases sts.
Repeat these two rnds until you have 48 sts on your needles.
*Note: If you have an odd number of sts in the last decreases rnd simply do an extra decrease only from one
side of the gusset. It doesn't matter which side you do this extra decrease.
FOOT
Continue work in the leg pattern only the first 25 sts and stockinette on the last 23 sts until your foot reaches
your desired length before beginning your toe decreases.
I begin shaping for the toes once my sock reaches just to the tip of my pinky toe. If you knit gift socks and can't
try them on, you can use the following tips for sock length (measuring from the back of the heel to the end of
the toe):

Women's shoe sizes 5 – 6 ½: 8-9" (20-23 cm)
Women's shoe sizes 7 – 9 ½: 9 ½ -10" (24-25.5 cm)
Women's shoe sizes 10 – 12 ½: 10 ½ -11" (26-28 cm)
Men's shoe sizes 6 – 8 ½: 9 ½ -10" (24-25.5 cm)
Men's shoe sizes 9 – 11 ½: 10 ½ -11" (26-28 cm)
Men's shoe sizes 12 – 14: 11 ½ -12" (29-30.5 cm)
I start toe decreases at approximately 1.7 "-2 "(4-5 cm) before the end desired foot length shown above.
TOE DECREASES:
Rnd 1: k2tog, k21, k2tog, k2tog, k19, k2tog. 44 sts on the needles.
Rnds 2-4: knit to the end.
Rnd 5: k2tog, k19, k2tog, k2tog, k17, k2tog. 40 sts on the needles.
Rnds 6-7: knit to the end.
Rnd 8: k2tog, k17, k2tog, k2tog, k15, k2tog. 36 sts on the needles.
Rnd 9: knit to the end.
Rnd 10: k2tog, k15, k2tog, k2tog, k13, k2tog. 32 sts on the needles.
Rnd 11: k2tog, k13, k2tog, k2tog, k11, k2tog. 28 sts on the needles.
Rnd 12: k2tog, k11, k2tog, k2tog, k9, k2tog. 24 sts on the needles.
Rnd 13: k2tog, k9, k2tog, k2tog, k7, k2tog. 20 sts on the needles.
Rnd 14: k2tog, k7, k2tog, k2tog, k5, k2tog. 16 sts on the needles.
Rnd 15: k2tog, k5, k2tog. 14 sts on the needles (7 sts on first circular needle and 7 sts on second circular
needle).
Needles 14 sts. Graft the toe sts together these 2 sets of 7 sts using Kitchener sts. Weave in ends.
Knit the second sock in the same way.
FINISHING
Block carefully, following any yarn care instructions on the ball band.

FINISHING
Block carefully, following any yarn care instructions on the ball band.
PRODUCT CARE (basic rules for the care of knitwear):
Use only mild detergents or regular hair shampoo.
Do not use fabric softener when washing fluffy products.
Knitted product must not be subjected to excessive mechanical stress - it may stretch and lose its shape.
Do not rub it hard during hand washing.
You can wash the knitted product manually or using the gentle machine wash mode - “Wool” mode or
“Hand wash” mode, spin 800 rpm.
After hand washing, squeeze the knitted product with a towel with neat, soaking movements.
Dry unfolded, after giving the product the desired shape (or in the dryer in the "Wool" mode).
After drying, fluffy products can be combed a little using a plastic comb like “Tangle Teezer”, but very
carefully so as not to damage the loops of the knitted fabric.
