Name Nikita Kumar Email- nikitakumar211@[Link] Poem 1 Title "Yours Truly” Poem 1 Infinity is a term that always infatuate everyone, For some, their love is for infinity, Some hold infinite hate for another one, Some think that sadness is there to stay, For some, happiness is the last destination. But little do they know, One day, This infinite love can become burdensome, They will get tired of hate's obsession, Sadness’ winter will bring summer vacation, And happiness might not be their last station. Nothing in this world lasts a lifetime, Everything can be yours, But for just a few days or nights. You may desire, For goodness to last forever, But itis there, just for a few hours, You will get the sweet taste of it, But the aftermath will be sour. ‘The sadness that gives you pain and fear, Will also one day wear and tear. As this storm starts to disappear, Sunshine will pave its way, And make the weather clear. Forget forever, Appreciate what's yours for hours, cause “Yours truly” is a myth, Itwas never yours to begin with. Poem 2 Title "Luminous Solution" Poem 2 Itwas a dark and glaring night Could not see anything, But could hear clear plight. It was not outside, Was rather deep inside, Deep inside me, it was a sorrowful night. Is ita fight, of wrongs or rights? Oris it a war, that has build up to thrive? Is it me, or another inside, That is taking me to the depths of the night Sinking me, Deeper and deeper by miles. Amidst all this, ‘Aluminous solution shone bright, outside, Held my hand, took me out of this fright, Brought me back again in the light, Or rather, Brought me back my mornings of shine. Now, when | look back At this luminous solution of mine, see nothing but me, As if the mirror’s other side. Now, I get it, 1am my own solution, My own shine, And as well my own plight. am the problem and it's solution That | was looking for somewhere outside. Poem 3 Title “Wanting to live” Poem 3 Wanting to live, | am waiting to die, Atime of crisis, Makes me clearly see, The duality of the world so high The flowers are blooming, But maybe, it's a lie, The sun is shining in the sky, But its not helping, It might be a ploy. Wanting to live, but waiting to die, Every thing around me, have shown me their faces, But to show them to everyone, They are a bit shy. Wanting to live, | am wasting my life, For things not so main, Putting myself to a knife, For bad or for worse! am losing to strife, Wanting to live, | know, | must stand upright. To counter the world, That always has two sides, Ihave to show the power | hold inside. Its time to hold the hands of the luminous solution, And bring back those feelings that die, Wanting to live, I need to want a little more, To stop this wait for death, and truly stop this fight | must want a little more, this want of life. Poem 4 Title "Now and then” Poem 4 Sometimes are similar to the times that are now, Where | want, to go back to then, From now somehow, ‘As moments of then, Holds a whole spectrum, of childhood memories within. Then, when | was a little girl, Then, when the whole world looked wonderful, Then, when there was no fear, no tear, No torn up pages, of life, Life then, was so colorful. ‘Then are the times where | wish to belong. But, Sometimes, | \d myself linger between now and then, I wish | could bring together this past and present, ‘As wanting to go back to then, | dont want to lose now as well, My friends that were there in thick and thin, The friends that are real, back then were hidden Dont want to lose them, or itll be a sin, wish to have this collision, Of two different times, Where the purity of past and goodness of present, Coincide together like beautiful rhymes. I wish to have both now and then, From time to time. Poem 5 Title "It's Okay!" Poem 5 It’s okay, If on some days, You don't feel like getting out of bed, You don't feel like giving it your everything, You don't feel ike moving ahead. It’s okay, Just take a rest, Embrace your blanket, have a nap. For once, Let's do nothing, Just have your leisure without regret. Cause, it's okay if for once, You are not at your best. if sometimes, You feel distressed and depressed, You feel like in life, there's nothing left. It's okay, Just embrace this depressing distress, Accept the nothingness’ void that's there. Just for once, Do nothing about it, Cause it’s okay, to not be okay at that It's okay If on certain occasions, You let your emotions get the best of you, ‘You get angry with someone for little things, You cry tll your eyes get dry, Until there are no tears left, not even a few. But the next moment, You smile widely at morning dew. It's okay, It’s really okay, To sometimes express yourself, It's okay to let the others know, That you are not okay, and order is due. Cause, It's these imperfections that make you human It’s these not-so-okay situations, In which, while doing nothing, And taking no actions, You get to meet your inner self. It's this solitary confinement, That give you time, To reconstruct your soul in disdain, This is what will make you okay once again, Poem 6 Title "Dear Dream” Poem 6 For the past few days, | am destabilized, Being disoriented by a dream of mine, The dream that | see when | sleep, ‘The dream that keeps my eyes open wide, In this dream, | am lost, Lost in some Alice's Wonderland. There are mountains on all sides, A cottage in the valley, where A peaceful stream flows beside, ‘And flowers keep blooming all the ti It's like a fairy tale has come alive, Beautiful, serene and breathtaking, Is this dream realm of mine. As | keep enjoying this nature's ride, am struck by lightning, Piercing precisely the heart of mine. That's when | realize— It's a nightmare wrapped in daydream’s attire, Ascary place, A confined solitaire, There is no one else beside me, 1am all alone here. No matter how many times | take strides, Through paths in the mountains and the lakesides, I cannot find my way outside. It's like a bird's golden cage, Infinitely beautiful, but bound to age, As beauty is for a day or two, It can't give what the bird longs to view. ‘As my mind keeps playing this dream on loop, My only wish, dear dream, Is that you please never come true. Poem 7 Title "Story of a Crow" Poem 7 The crow is sad today, ‘As he was looking in the mirror, He saw a dark and hideous sight, Like some scene of horror. He thought to himself, Why was god so partial, He didn’t give the crow beautiful feathers like a peacock, Nor a melodious voice as of a koyal. Everyday he thought, That the peacock and the Koyal, Were so enviable. One day while following a peacock, He heard him gasping, And his words give him a shock. ‘The peacock was wishing, For a pair of wings. The wings with which, he could fly, ‘As his own ones never gave it a try This kept the crow thinking, was he lucky somehow, Even though his wings are not so charming, He could fly in the whole sky, as much as his heart allow. On some other day, He heard the koyal say, “Iwish | had the ability, To build the nest with hay, ‘And see my children grow, together we all stay” Now the crow was confused, Was he right to envy, The peacock and the koyal. We all are like this crow, Envy for the others’ shine, While ignoring our own glow. It's still not too late, Start seeing yourself with others’ envious gaze. As envy is better if it's kept away. Poem 8 Title “Reflection” Poem 8 twas hard, To see my own reflection, | was too focused, on the outside | thought every wrong or right Was in this world's construction, Keeping everything inside, to a bit aside, But how wrong was |, To put everything on thy, When all of this was only, Areflection of mine. Areflection of mine, A reflection too vivid, too clear, Nothing would miss it’s sight. If all was right in depths of mine, No force is strong enough, To make sorrow come beside, But if inside is blurry and bloody in disguise, Then no power, how so powerful, Could bring a peace of mind. We must reflect on this reflection, Ponder it some thought and Give it right direction, As world will give us back, What we throw at it's stack, The changes you want to bring in this world, You must bring it first, on your own track. Poem 9 Title “What If” Poem 9 What if | fail? What if | don’t get out of struggle’s hail? Will be a mess or simply frail? What if risk it all, and don't get it to sail? What if | die? Without reaching the sky? What if nobody cries? In my demise? What if | do something for myself? Will | be called selfish? Will it be a bad thing? To do a bit for my own help? There are so many What If'sin life. But, What if, you let go of this what if? What if, you do whatever you wish, Paying no heed to nothing? What if you do everything, Just to achieve your dream, Without thinking of any loss or win, No matter what the ending? What if, you live life, ‘As per your wish and will? Live it as your own, Without thinking of pro or con. Let go of this what if, Just live and let others live. Then for sure, You will definitely get out, Of the loop of grief, 9 Poem 10 Title "| Understand” Poem 10 In the darkest places and phases of life, When everything tries to look at me, As if looking for candle, in the absence of light, Everything that say to me, how are you holding it allright, I would like to say to them, That it is because, | understand understand, understand, when something goes beyond my control, When things go totally, opposite of their initial role, understand that it's important, for somethings to go wrong, understand, understand, when they are mean to me, Say rude things about me, Always keeping me at fault, feeling affection in my distruction, understand, that it's important to have meanness around you, For this world saga to go on, lunderstand, understand, when there is always a stormy weather around, Lightening and thunder, leading others to cry aloud, l understand, that this weather is for not to wither, As itis to keep things at its place, to keep it whither. When understanding so many things all alone, I keep all the pain and misery hidden inside, Putting pressure more and more to keep it deeper confide, To the world outside,! am a safe place, that has grown, but only | know, That a massive volcano is in the making What a menace Itwill create, When everything will go out all at once. Poem 11 Title “Volcanism” Poem 11 volcanic eruption, Is not due to days’ convection, It takes years and years of heat, And pressure from within, That get went out one day, When the volcano cannot keep it at bay. But for a long time, this volcano was silent, Thinking that one day, this pressure will relent, It was waiting for a day of peace, 10 To be once again at ease. But after millions of years, Of this pressure and fears, When it starts to erupt everything held inside It leads to a crisis outside, People blame this volcano, That it did wrong to get hollow, Itwas wrong of him to burst, Itwas bad of him to growl. But do they know the suffering of this voleano, Which even after the eruption, Did not get any peace, this poor fellow. After a time of stagnation, And then continuous eruption, This volcano starts to die, Itdies silently, ‘As no one understood him in his lifetime. Don't be a volcano, Don't keep things within, If things start going above the line, Just move away silently, Just far apart you drift. Poem 12 Title “Drift” Poem 12 Drift, Just drift apart, From things and beings, That are not at par. Don't say anything, There's no accuse, No victim, no abuse, Just drifting apart is of use. For things, The things that you liked to see, Got them for your growth and spree But now they control you Making their own decree They make their decree, Over decisions that should have been, Of your will of free. Then just drift apart, Drift far away in the see. For beings, Beings that oce were your everything, Your days were full of them n You together was a beautiful scene But now they changed, Now there is some change, They give you anxiety Make you feel strange Now they are a constrain Making you feel like nothing, Guilt trips youand make a mess, They are not worth your stress, Just drift apart | guess. Drifting apart saves you, Ithelps you, To prioritise your happiness, It takes you to your rightful place, Cause this drift is like your mage. Poem 13 Title “Margin” Poem 13 Im at a margin This margin keeps me safe, from the whole world wide, It’s a safety line, To not let me get mired in bright. Itis a wall so strong, Keep the sufferings of this world, all beyond Me, it keeps me sane and humane. Iwas not always there, Once | was part of the central affairs, But it broke my trust, my heart, my strength, Ithas made me come, into this isolated lane. Now | feel better to be at this margin, lam healing, I'm here to regain. To become part of the central sphere, To get hurt again, I'm afraid | don't dare To be at the margin, I'm better and safer here. Poem 14 Title “Embrace of Change” Poem 14 For numerous days and nights, 2 Ihave been stuck in a monochromatic life. Monocromacy that starts with the first ray of light. And follows me till past 12 at night, Ithad captured me completely, Forcing me to follow it water-tight, Waking up in same hour, every single day, Working on some lame work, till its dark and grey, Keeping a face of a wet weekend, you'd like to say. In world of multiple seasons, same weather was in my life to stay. But, under one moon light, I vowed to change this plight, ‘That was when embrace of change, Came into my sight. Embrace of change stirred me up, It showed me the path from where, I could step up. Embracing change changed me, Made me better than I could ever be, Now | could bring the freedom inhere, Asi was always meant to be free, Now, this monochromacy has tured, Into free will democracy, Under this beautiful embrace of change. Poem 15 Title “Silence” Poem 15 I choose silence Over all pretense, | choose to live in silence. Without disturbing anything, In this blissful ambience I choose to live in silence. Even in times when I realize, My silence might be mistaken as Attitude and disgrace, I still decide, To stay at silence's place. Itis for the cause that silence is never on its own, Peace and stability are not to leave it alone, The more you go out of this silent place, You will be encountered by chaos all around, As the conflicted world outside is never in grace I choose silence, For The souls that show resemblance, 13 To that of my own, I choose to give them love. Love that has no vocal existence. Love don't need, No hoardings no banner, No ad, no need of glamour, Love is at peace, That have a gentle pace, No need to show to others, The beauty of its face. I choose to work in silence, Work of my blood sweat and tears, Don't need any praises or butters, I work silently on the things, The things that are to matter. This silence has become a part me Itis not gonna fade, And | feel proud to say, that Silence is the best choice, that Ihave ever made, Poem 16 Title "Finding my place" Poem 16 "Beneath the sky's vast expanse, I wander and wonder, ‘Am | needed in this world? Have | ever done anything for myself, Let alone others, Whether my friends or my brothers? When others were in pain, Iwas busy with my own strain And when I considered others, I got sunk in a blue weather. Iwas feeling empty inside, a bit worthless, Wandering in the sky's vastness, When a wise man told me, "it's the effort that counts, It's not about more or less, It's the effort that counts, YOU ARE NOT WORTHLESS" Hooked within, at my depths, | found countless efforts, trials, and errors, That had shown me the way, “4 Back from various strolls. Ihave used these efforts for others as well, Had shown them ways, toward their goal I might have been lost for some time, Now, | feel | am back in the divine. Under this vast sky, | have found my place, A place that outshines all the shines. Poem 17 Title "Traces" Poem 17 am nothing but a collection of traces, The traces that | have got, from different times and places. One trace on meis of trauma. Trauma of abuse, | still remember the shadow of darkness, That kept my neck in a harness. Clutching all my hope so tight, twas difficult to get back in the light. One trace on meis of distrust, How | wished to be able to have someone to trust, But everytime | confide in the embrace of other being, It was always the worst, | found that my hope was unnecessarily high, The hype was not the worth. One trace is made of inferiority, The feeling that | developed, When I was made to realize, from time to time, That | was not enough, Less than other, One trace is trace of loneliness When I was engulfed in negativity, No one was standing by my side, no empathy Was there to give me wholesomeness That's when | developed this feeling of emptiness. All these traces join hands, from time to time, And try to pull me back, in their dark confine, But | have made up mind, To not be their mime, | promise to look up, Look up, towards the light devine. Poem 18 Title “inspiration” Poem 18 God resides in everything, 15 In every single being, The same goes for inspir Just dare to give in. Inspiration is there, In the books that you read, In the shows that you have seen, In the scenes of the nature, In the birds that are so keen, Inspiration resides, To let you be an enlightened being. Just take a look in front of you, The things that you see in front, Are all willing to inspire you, As if, their love to you is due. Dare to take in all this inspiration, Set yourself free from all the hesitation, Take the steps forward towards Your chosen destination. 6
