IPL Auction Rules

1. Budget: Each team has a budget of ₹100 Cr.

2. Teams: A total of 8 teams are expected to participate.

3. Players in Auction:

o Batsmen: 47

o All-rounders: 41

o Wicketkeeper-Batsmen: 20

o Bowlers: 55

o Uncapped Players: 25

o Total Players: 188

4. Squad Requirements:

o Each team must have at least 15 players by the end of the auction.
Teams may buy more if they wish.

o A team must include at least 5 batsmen, 5 bowlers, and 1


wicketkeeper.

o A team must include at least 4 Foreign players and maximum 6 .

o All-rounders can be counted as either a batsman or a bowler.

5. Bidding Rules:

o The base price for Batsmen, Bowler, Wicketkeeper, All-rounder is


₹1Cr, for Marquee Players is ₹2Cr and for Uncapped players is ₹50
lakhs.

o Each bid increases the price by ₹10 lakhs until it reaches ₹1 Cr.

o Each bid increases the price by ₹50 lakhs until it reaches ₹5 Cr.
Beyond that, bids increase by ₹1 Cr per round.
o Example: ₹3 Cr → ₹3.5 Cr → ₹4 Cr → ₹4.5 Cr → ₹5 Cr → ₹6 Cr → ₹7 Cr →
₹8 Cr → ₹9 Cr → ₹10 Cr...

6. Time Limits:

o Maximum bidding time per player: 2 minutes. After this, contesting


teams must submit a final bid, and the player will go to the highest
bidder. This rule will be strictly enforced to keep the auction on
schedule.

o Time to place the first bid: 10 seconds. If no bid is placed, the player
remains unsold.

o Time to place a counter-bid: 10 seconds. If no counter-bid is placed,


the player goes to the current highest bidder.

7. Results & Scoring:

o After the auction, every team should submit their best playing 11
for the simulation.

o Results will be determined using a league Simulator.

o The points table will be revealed after the event. No discussions or


appeals will be entertained.

8. Auction Order: Players will be auctioned in the following order:

o Marquee → Batsmen → Wicketkeepers → Bowlers → All-rounders →


Uncapped.
