Pick Up at Station
Tour Guide: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to
Yogyakarta. My name is Rani and I will be your tour guide during your trip
today. On behalf of our company, I would like to thank you for visiting our
beautiful city.
Tour Guide: May I confirm, are you Mr. John and family?
Tourist: Yes, that’s right.
Tour Guide: Nice to meet you. How was your journey to Yogyakarta? I
hope you had a pleasant and comfortable trip.
Tourist: Yes, it was good, thank you. The train ride was comfortable.
Tour Guide: I’m glad to hear that. Before we continue, please make sure
you have taken all your belongings. Our driver and vehicle are waiting
outside the station.
Tourist: Alright, let me check my bag first. Yes, everything is here.
Conversation in the Car
Tour Guide: Ladies and gentlemen, from Yogyakarta Railway Station we
will go directly to your hotel, @K Hotel Kaliurang. The journey will take
around one hour depending on the traffic.
Tourist: Oh, that’s quite close.
Tour Guide: Alright, we will head to the northern area of Yogyakarta
called Kaliurang. This area is located on the slope of Mount Merapi, so the
weather there is cooler and fresher compared to the city center.
Tourist: That sounds nice. We like cooler weather.
Tour Guide: Yogyakarta itself is one of the most popular tourist
destinations in Indonesia. The city is well known for its rich culture,
traditional arts, delicious local cuisine, and friendly people.
Tourist: Yes, we have heard a lot about that, but could you explain more
about Yogyakarta?
Tour Guide: Besides cultural attractions, Yogyakarta also has beautiful
natural landscapes, including beaches, caves, and mountains such as
Mount Merapi.
Tourist: Is Mount Merapi active?
Tour Guide: Yes, it is. Mount Merapi is actually one of the most active
volcanoes in Indonesia. However, it is also one of the most famous natural
attractions in this region.
Tourist: Oh really? That’s interesting
Tour Guide: Of course! Many visitors come to the Merapi area to enjoy
the scenery, experience local village life, and try the famous Merapi Lava
Tour.
Tourist: We are excited to see it.
Upon Arriving the Destination
Tour Guide: Ladies and gentlemen, we are now approaching at your
hotel, @K Hotel Kaliurang.
Tour Guide: Please take your time to check in and have a good rest.
Tomorrow morning we will explore the Merapi area together. If you need
any assistance, please feel free to contact me. Thank you and enjoy your
stay.
Tourist: Thank you very much. See you tomorrow!
Small Talk Heading the Car (On the next day)
Tour Guide: Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I hope you had a
wonderful rest and enjoyed your breakfast at the hotel.
Tourist: Yes, we did. The breakfast was very great.
Tour Guide: Oh nice! Mr. John and family, today we will visit one of the
most famous natural attractions in Yogyakarta, which is Mount Merapi. Our
vehicle is waiting outside, please follow me.
Tourist: Alright.
Conversation in the Car
Tour Guide: From the hotel, the journey to the Merapi lava tour area will
take around 15 to 20 minutes. During the trip, you can see beautiful views
of villages, forests, and the mountain landscape.
Tour Guide: The local people living around Merapi mostly work as
farmers, guides, or tourism service providers because tourism has become
an important part of the local economy.
Tourist: I see, that’s interesting.
Tour Guide: One of the biggest eruptions of Mount Merapi happened in
2010. The eruption destroyed many houses and villages. Now we are
passing through a village on the slope of Mount Merapi that was affected
by the eruption in the past.
Tour Guide: Because of that event, some places were later turned into
educational tourism sites so visitors can learn about the history of the
eruption.
Tour Guide: One of the places we will visit today is Sisa Hartaku Museum.
Tour Guide: This small museum displays personal belongings of local
residents that were damaged by the eruption, such as melted
motorcycles, clocks that stopped during the disaster, and household
items.
Tour Guide: The museum reminds us about the power of nature and also
about the strength and resilience of the people who live around Merapi.
Tourist: Yes, it sounds very meaningful.
Dropping Off the Guests
Tour Guide: Alright ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at the Merapi
Lava Tour area. From here we will continue our adventure using a jeep to
explore the former eruption area of Mount Merapi.
Tourist: We are really excited for the jeep tour.
Tour Guide: Please prepare your cameras because the scenery here is
very beautiful and unique. I hope you will enjoy this exciting experience.
Tourist: Thank you. We definitely will!
