A Note About Sewing

We highly suggest using 4-weight (worsted) yarn
instead of chenille to sew. This helps to avoid
excess yarn shed and breakage. Throughout the
pattern, you can leave a short tail on any pieces
you will be sewing with worsted weight yarn.

 Assembly
Taco
Attach the pieces by sewing the filling to
the back loops left over from R30 of the
shell. We suggest using acrylic yarn in a
shade similar to the shell to make sewing
easier. The taco shape should naturally
begin to form as you sew. Once you are
halfway done, begin to stuff your taco as
you continue to sew. Ensure it is firmly
stuffed before sewing closed and weaving
in ends. It is important not to miss many
stitches of the shell or the pieces will not
match up. If you struggle to see the back
loops, consider working in small batches
and placing stitch markers in each stitch

Taco

Head
Sew the head onto one end of the taco.
We suggest pinning it in place before
beginning. When attaching the bottom
and sides of the head, sew it through the
taco shell (instead of the filling) to avoid
any brown showing. As you attach the top
of the head, sew it as high up on the filling
as needed so that the head does not flop

Head

Tail
Sew the tail onto the other end of the shell.
We suggest pinning it in place before
beginning. The bottom of the tail should
overlap with the bottom of the taco slightly
so that the tail comes out straight instead of
sticking upwards.

Legs
Attach the legs to the bottom of the shell.
The exact placement is up to you and may
vary. Our front legs were roughly 24
stitches in front of the back legs (from the
back of the front legs to the front of the
back legs). We suggest securing them in
place before beginning to sew. Ensure
your Tacosaurus can stand before weaving
in the ends.

Lettuce
Place the dinosaur in front of you with the
head facing you. Pick a stitch closest to
you on the left, right before where the
head and shell overlap. Insert your hook
under one of the stitches created from
sewing the filling and shell together and
attach GREEN yarn with a slip knot.

R1: hdc down the side of the shell by

going into the spaces where you
attached the shell and filling. You do
NOT have to be exact here on the
number of stitches you end up with, it’s
okay if some are skipped.

Lettuce
R2: turn (no need to ch 1), and hdc back
down the row.
R3: turn, (5 hdc in the same st, skip a
stitch, sl st) down the row.
FO and weave in ends.

Cheese
Using YELLOW yarn,
embroider the cheese by
going over 3-4 stitches in
different directions all
over the filling.

Sour Cream
Lay the sour cream over the
filling in a wavy pattern as
shown. Pin in place and
then sew.

Tomatoes
Sew the tomatoes in between
the sour cream “waves.”
Weave in all remaining
ends.
