Service Level Agreement (SLA) Notes

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud)

Amazon claims its cloud services will be available for 99.99% uptime.

Downtime should not exceed 52 minutes per year.

If downtime exceeds this limit, service credits are issued to customers.

 Builds trust between provider and customer
 Ensures business continuity
 Provides financial protection
 Defines service level expectations
 Maintains reputation
 Provides legal clarity

SLA ensures compensation, reduced legal risks, and protects reputation.

 Shared resources: Infrastructure used by multiple clients
 Internet-facing services: Accessible via internet
 Direct user interaction: End users interact directly
