GENERAL SCIENCE
☀️Summer Vacation Science Exploration!
Instructions: Choose any two of the following exciting science adventures.
Complete them independently. Parents can assist to ensure safety. Let curiosity
lead the way!
🌱 Task 1 – Seed Germination Adventure: "Grow Your Own Science!"
Ever wondered how a tiny seed becomes a plant? Let’s explore nature’s
magic!
Your Mission:
Choose 2–3 types of seeds (e.g., beans, peas, sunflowers, or even
something fun like chili seeds from your kitchen).
Plant them in small pots or recycled containers (like yogurt cups or egg
cartons).
Experiment with different conditions:
o One in sunlight, another in darkness
o One with daily watering, another barely watered
Observe what happens over 1–2 weeks. Watch for roots, stems, leaves…
even little surprises like mold!
Record changes daily through:
o A growth journal (draw, measure, describe!)
o A time-lapse photo series
o Or a mini “Plant Vlog” (short video clips)
Go Beyond!
Try talking or playing music to one of the plants. Does it grow differently?
Write a short story from the seed’s point of view: "Day 5: Still stuck in the dirt.
But wait—I feel a sprout coming!"
❤️🔥 Task 2 – Heart Rate Detective: "Beat by Beat!"
Your heart is always working—let’s find out how hard!
Your Mission:
Sit still and calmly count your pulse for 1 minute (use your wrist or neck). This
is your resting heart rate.
Now get moving! Choose 3 fun activities (e.g., dance party, hopping like a
frog, climbing stairs, shadow boxing, etc.).
After each activity, measure your pulse again.
Record the results and compare: Which activity got your heart racing the
most?
Get Creative:
Turn your data into a colorful graph or infographic.
Interview family members—who has the fastest recovery rate? Why?
Invent a new sport and predict how it might affect heart rate. ("Extreme Jump
Rope Battle" anyone?)
Go Beyond!
Research how athletes train their hearts to work more efficiently.
Find out how technology (like smartwatches) tracks heart rate and health.
🧪 Task 3 – Infectious Disease Investigation: "Germs, Vaccines & Super
Shields!"
Diseases spread—but so does awareness. Become a germ-fighting hero!
Your Mission:
Choose a common infectious disease: cold, flu, chickenpox, COVID-19, or
something unique like malaria.
Research:
o What causes it? (Germ, virus, bacteria?)
o How does it spread?
o What are the symptoms?
o How can we protect others and ourselves?
Create a poster, digital slideshow, or even a comic strip that teaches
others about it.
Include facts, drawings, safety tips, and myths vs. facts.
Go Beyond!
Create a superhero who fights that disease! Give them powers based on
soap, masks, or vaccines.
Interview someone (a doctor, parent, or grandparent) about their experience
with the illness.
Make a handwashing tutorial video with a fun twist—maybe in the style of a
cooking show!

GEOGRAPHY
Note: All tasks are to be performed individually and independently.
Task 1 –Hydrologic cycle
Create an informative and visually appealing poster in a scrapbook about the
Hydrologic cycle and label it. Write definitions of evaporation, condensation and
precipitation.
Task 2: Types of Settlements & Their Characteristics
Explore different types of settlements (rural, urban, and suburban) and analyze their
features through a walk around your neighborhood or observe two different areas
(e.g., a rural village and a city center using Google Maps/Street View).
Questions to Answer:
1. Describe the types of houses, roads, and public spaces.
2. List 3 differences between a rural and urban settlement.
3. Why do you think people choose to live in each type?
4. Identify the advantages and disadvantages that people of rural settlement face.
5. Identify the advantages and disadvantages that people of urban settlement face.
Task 3 –field trip
Go for a field trip and observe a nearby small settlement to observe their lifestyle
and economic activities of that locality.
Write a detailed note about how commercial land use is different than residential
land use.
HISTORY
Task 1 – Constructing Timeline
Explore the key events and advancements of the European Middle Ages by
constructing a timeline highlighting major milestones such as the fall of the Western
Roman Empire, the emergence of feudalism, the Crusades, and the Renaissance.
Provide concise descriptions and dates for each event. Use digital tools like Canva
or PowerPoint to design the timeline.
Task 2 – Exploration
Explore and write about the inventions, discoveries and specific contributions by
following Muslim scholars/ scientists.
(a) Al-Khwarizmi’s contributions to Mathematics
(b) Al-Razi's contributions to medicine
(c) Jabir bin Hayyan's contributions to Chemistry.

Task 3: Grammar Practice
Instructions:
Complete the following grammar exercises (in plain pages.( computer pages)
1. Write 5 sentences using past tense verbs.
2. Change 5 sentences from active to passive voice.
3. Use at least 5 conjunctions (and, but, so, because, although) in your own
sentences.
