+ Talk about yoursel
My full name is Nguyen Thi Thu Huong. I come from Ninh Binh province. I
am 19 years old. Currently, I am a second-year student at Hanoi University
of Culture. I live in a family of four people: My mother; my younger
brother; my younger sister and I. I am a friendly and curious person, and I
always try to learn new things every day. In my free time, I enjoy playing
football, listening to music and spending time with my family and friends.

My teacher’s name is Hằng. She is 30 years old. She teaches at Gia Tường
secondary school and she is an English teacher. She is very beautiful with
fair skin and a warm smile. She is also kind, patient, and dedicated to her
students. She always explains lessons clearly and helps us when we have
difficulties. Thanks to her, I enjoy studying and feel more confident in class.
She is not only a good teacher but also a role model who inspires me to
study well and be a better person.

2. Describe your mother/ father/ yourself/ friend…
+ My mother is the most important person in my life. She is about forty
years old, but she looks younger because she always smiles and keeps a
positive attitude. She has long black hair and bright eyes that show her
kindness. My mother works as a teacher, so she is very patient and
hardworking. At home, she takes care of the family and cooks delicious
meals. She often helps me with my homework and encourages me to study
hard. In her free time, she likes reading books and listening to music. I
admire her because she is gentle, responsible, and always thinks of others
before herself. To me, she is not only a mother but also a close friend.
+ The person I admire is My. She is my best friend, and we have shared
many wonderful moments together.
The first reason I admire her is that she is a very kind person. She always
helps others and never hesitates to share what she has.
The second reason is that she is very funny. She always knows how to make
me laugh, even when I have a bad day. Being around her makes me feel
comfortable and positive.
The last reason is that she is very hardworking. She always tries her best in
both studying and working. For example, she studied very hard for her
exams and got high grades.
In conclusion, MY is a friend whom I truly appreciate. I feel very lucky to
have her in my life, and I hope our friendship will last forever.
3. Talk about food (different kinds of food, what you like/ don’t like)
My favorite dish is fried rice. I like this dish because it is delicious, simple,
and reminds me of my family.
Firstly, it is delicious because it has a unique and rich flavor. The combination of
rice, eggs, vegetables, and sometimes meat makes the dish colorful and flavorful.
Secondly, it is simple because it is easy to cook. It is often made from leftover rice,
which helps reduce food waste, moreover it is not only delicious but also
convenient for daily meals.
Finally, it reminds me of my family because it brings back my childhood
memories. My mother used to cook fried rice for breakfast, and its smell always
reminds me of her love and care.
In conclusion, fried rice is my favorite dish because it is delicious, simple,
and reminds me of my family. It will always hold a special place in my heart
Food is an important part of our daily life, and there are many different kinds
of food around the world. Some are traditional, while others are modern and fast.
Personally, I enjoy eating rice, noodles, and seafood because they are delicious and
healthy. I also like fruits such as mangoes, bananas, and apples, which give me
energy and vitamins. On special occasions, I love trying international dishes like
pizza, pasta, and sushi. However, there are some foods I don’t really like. For
example, I dislike very spicy dishes because they make me uncomfortable, and I
don’t enjoy fast food too much since it is often oily and unhealthy. In general, I
prefer simple, fresh, and nutritious meals that keep me strong and happy every day.
4. Choose a member of your family or a friend and talk about his/her job.
My mother works as a shoe factory worker, and she is also the leader of her
team. Every day, she goes to the factory early in the morning and manages a
group of workers who sew and assemble shoes. Her job is not only to
operate the machines but also to check the quality of the products and guide
her team to finish tasks on time. Being a team leader is a big responsibility
because she must make sure everyone works safely and effectively.
Although the work is hard and sometimes stressful, she is proud of her
position because she can help others and improve production. At home, she
still takes care of our family with love and patience. I admire her very much
because she is strong, hardworking, and dedicated.
5. Choose a member of your family or a friend and talk about his/ her
daily life.
My best friend is Ngọc. She is a student at TMU, where she studies
Marketing. Every day, Ngọc wakes up early to attend her lectures. In the
morning, she usually has classes about business, communication, and
consumer behavior. In the afternoon, she often works on group projects or
prepares presentations with her classmates. She enjoys learning how to
design advertisements and analyze market trends. In the evening, Ngọc
spends time reading books, searching for information online, or practicing
English to improve her skills. On weekends, she sometimes joins marketing
clubs or participates in volunteer activities. Her daily life is busy but
exciting, and I admire her because she is hardworking, creative, and
passionate about her future career.
6. Talk about your daily activities.
Every day, I follow a simple but busy routine. I usually wake up at 6 a.m.
and do some exercise to keep healthy. After that, I have breakfast and get
ready for school. In the morning, I attend classes and listen carefully to my
teachers. At noon, I have lunch with my friends and sometimes take a short
rest. In the afternoon, I continue studying or join group activities. When I
come home, I help my parents with housework and then do my homework.
In the evening, I often read books, watch TV, or practice English. Before
going to bed, I spend some time reviewing lessons so I can remember them
better. My daily life is full of study and family time, but I enjoy it very
much.
7. Talk about your last holiday.
Last summer, I had a wonderful holiday in Ninh Bình with my family. We
stayed there for three days and visited many famous places. On the first day,
we went to Trang An, where we took a boat trip along the river and saw
beautiful caves and mountains. The scenery was amazing and peaceful. On
the second day, we visited Tam Cốc, which is also called “Ha Long Bay on
land.” We enjoyed riding bicycles through the rice fields and taking many
photos. On the last day, we climbed up to Mua Cave to see the panoramic
view of Ninh Bình. Although it was tiring, the view from the top was
unforgettable. This holiday gave me many happy memories, and I hope to
return to Ninh Bình again in the future.
8. Talk about a job you don’t mind doing in the house.
One job I don’t mind doing in the house is washing the dishes. After every
meal, I usually help my mother by cleaning all the plates, bowls, and
glasses. At first, it seemed boring, but now I find it quite relaxing. I like the
feeling of warm water and the smell of soap while I wash. It also gives me
time to think about my day or listen to music. Washing dishes is not too
difficult, and it helps keep the kitchen clean and tidy. I believe that sharing
housework is important because it shows responsibility and care for the
family. Although there are many other chores, washing dishes is the one I
enjoy most, and I never complain when it is my turn.
9. What is the most exciting sporting event you have ever seen?
The most exciting sporting event I have ever seen was a football match
between Vietnam and Thailand in the AFF Cup. I watched it on television
with my family, and the atmosphere was unforgettable. Both teams played
very well, and the match was full of dramatic moments. Vietnam scored the
first goal, and everyone in my house cheered loudly. Thailand then
equalized, which made the game even more intense. In the last minutes,
Vietnam scored again and finally won the match. I felt so proud and happy
because it was not only a victory but also a moment of unity for all
Vietnamese fans. That match gave me strong emotions, and I will always
remember it as one of the best sporting events in my life.
10. Talk about a sport you enjoy watching.
The sport I enjoy watching most is football. It is the most popular sport in
the world, and it always brings excitement to me. I usually watch football
matches on television with my family or friends. The atmosphere becomes
very lively when our favorite team plays. I like football because it is fast,
competitive, and full of surprises. The players show great skills in passing,
shooting, and teamwork. My favorite moment is when a team scores a goal,
and everyone cheers loudly. Watching football also teaches me about
discipline and cooperation. Sometimes, I watch international tournaments
like the World Cup or the Champions League, which are very thrilling. For
me, football is not only a sport but also a way to connect with people and
share happiness.
11. Talk about something you like doing with your family.
One activity I really enjoy doing with my family is cooking together. Every
weekend, we spend time in the kitchen preparing a special meal. My mother
usually teaches us how to cook traditional dishes, while my father helps with
cutting vegetables and arranging the table. I often assist by washing the
ingredients and learning new recipes. Cooking together is not only fun but
also a great way to share responsibilities. We laugh, talk, and sometimes
listen to music while working. After finishing, we sit down to enjoy the food
we made, which always tastes better because of our teamwork. This activity
brings us closer, strengthens our bond, and creates happy memories. For me,
cooking with my family is one of the most meaningful moments in daily life.
12. Talk about something you love doing in the summer.
In the summer, I love going swimming with my friends. The weather is
usually very hot, so swimming helps me feel cool and relaxed. We often go
to the local pool or sometimes to the river near my hometown. I enjoy
playing water games, racing with my friends, and practicing different
swimming styles. Swimming is not only fun but also good for my health
because it makes my body stronger and keeps me active. After swimming,
we usually sit together, drink cold juice, and talk about our plans. These
moments bring me a lot of happiness and unforgettable memories. For me,
swimming in the summer is the best way to enjoy the holiday and spend
time with people I care about.
13. Talk about something you spend a lot of time doing.
One activity I spend a lot of time doing is studying. Every day, I usually
study after school and in the evening. I start by reviewing the lessons that
my teachers taught in class, then I do my homework carefully. I also read
extra books and practice exercises to understand the subjects better.
Sometimes, I study with my friends, and we help each other when we have
difficult questions. Studying takes a lot of time and effort, but I know it is
very important for my future. It helps me gain knowledge, improve my
skills, and prepare for exams. Although it can be tiring, I feel proud when I
get good results. That is why studying is the activity I spend most of my
time on.
[Link] about somebody you dream of meeting.
The person I dream of meeting again is my father. He passed away several
years ago, but he is always in my heart. My father was a hardworking and
kind man who loved our family very much. He taught me many valuable
lessons about honesty, responsibility, and respect. I still remember his warm
smile and the way he encouraged me to study hard. If I could meet him
again, I would tell him how much I miss him and how grateful I am for
everything he did for me. I would also share my achievements with him
because I know he would be proud. Although he is no longer here, my father
remains my greatest inspiration, and I will always dream of seeing him
again.
15. Talk about something you don’t like doing alone.
One thing I don’t like doing alone is shopping. Whenever I go to the
supermarket or the market by myself, I often feel bored and confused
because there are so many choices. Sometimes, I don’t know which products
are the best or how to compare prices. When I shop with my mother or
friends, it becomes much easier and more enjoyable. We can discuss what to
buy, share opinions, and even have fun looking at new items together.
Shopping with others also saves time because we can help each other carry
things. For me, shopping alone feels tiring, but shopping with family or
friends is a happy activity that strengthens our relationship and makes the
experience more exciting.
16. Talk about a country you are interested in visiting.
The country I am most interested in visiting is Korea. It is famous for its
modern cities, rich culture, and beautiful nature. I would love to see Seoul,
the capital, where tradition and technology exist side by side. Visiting
palaces like Gyeongbokgung and walking around Insadong would help me
learn more about Korean history. I also want to experience K-pop concerts
and taste delicious food such as kimchi, bibimbap, and Korean barbecue.
Another place I dream of visiting is Jeju Island, which is known for its
stunning beaches and volcanic landscapes. Korea is also a leader in fashion
and technology, so I believe I could learn a lot there. For me, Korea is an
exciting destination that combines culture, entertainment, and innovation.
[Link] about something you are thinking of doing this weekend.
This weekend, I am thinking of going on a picnic with my friends. We plan
to visit a small park near my hometown where the air is fresh and the
scenery is beautiful. I will prepare some food and drinks, such as
sandwiches, fruit, and juice, to share with everyone. We also want to play
outdoor games like badminton and football to relax after a busy week of
studying. In the afternoon, we may sit together under the trees, talk about
our future plans, and take photos to keep as memories. Spending time with
friends in nature always makes me feel happy and energetic. I believe this
picnic will be a wonderful way to enjoy the weekend and strengthen our
friendship.
