luận điểm)

1. Teamwork is beneficial. For instance, when I graduated from university and got my
first job. I had to adapt to a new/unfamiliar work environment and learn so many
things to do my work. Luckily, I got to work in a really close and supportive team.
They gave me a lot of useful advice. One of them even lent me his premium Kahoot
account to complete a task. Thanks to that, I was able to fit in in a short time and
acquired the essential skills to perform my tasks. That experience proves/makes me
believe/convinces me that working in a team is far more advantageous compared to
working alone.
2. People have become more aware of the importance of a balanced diet. For example,
I mainly eat vegetables and home-cooked meals to protect my health. In the past, I
was a big fan of KFC, a huge fast food chain in my country, and I had most meals
there. I gained weight uncontrollably. There was a time when I hit seventy kilograms
and burst into tears every time I saw my ugly self in the mirror. I struggled with the
worst breakouts since puberty, hair loss, and hyperventilation caused by obesity.

Fortunately, I soon realized that it was time to change. I decided to cut 90% of my
daily sugar intake by replacing soda with plain/mineral/sparkling water. I also added
at least 80 grams of fiber in both lunch and dinner. I proactively/mindfully/consciously
control the amount of seasonings/condiments put in my food to avoid water storage. I
finally gained self-confidence again and I’m trying hard not to repeat the same
mistake/go down the same road.

Làm rõ ý tưởng kết hợp ví dụ (Biến trải nghiệm cụ thể thành lập luận chính)
As for the advantages, changing jobs helps me gain new knowledge. I am an
adventurous/curious person, and I want to experience as many professions as
possible to find out which suits me the most. I used to work as a bartender for half a
year after graduation. Then, I decided to pursue a career as a professional
accountant. I enrolled in several accounting courses, both online and offline. Those
classes taught me a lot of things, from basic Microsoft Excel formulas to advanced
financial report analysis. After seven months of constant studying, I applied for a
medium-sized company specializing in office supplies and got accepted for the junior
accountant position. I don’t think we are meant to devote all our time and effort to a
single workplace, but to explore and challenge ourselves/our limits. Every job I have
had has brought me unforgettable memories and invaluable skills that have stayed
helpful until this day/ that I will treasure forever.

On the other hand, switching companies also has many disadvantages. One major
drawback is career instability, as frequent changes may be viewed/perceived
negatively by future employers who prefer candidates with long-term commitment. In
addition, moving to a new company often requires time to get used to the new
environment. Furthermore, employees may lose valuable benefits that they have built
up in their previous workplace. For these reasons, changing companies should be
carefully considered to avoid negative impacts. (KH_166)

at work. Secondly, this work arrangement allows them to expand their network/build
valuable relationships.
2. Some still argue whether setting goals is necessary for individuals to thrive.
Personally, I believe that determining a specific target is crucial to accomplishing
goals. I will discuss the benefits of this mindset further in this essay.
3. Some people believe that working for a company for their whole careers is more
advantageous, while others prefer job hopping/switching workplaces for development
opportunities. I believe that changing employers brings/comes with it
both/significant/certain benefits and drawbacks that will be discussed in this essay.

MB: In today's workplaces, the traditional notion of the workplace is changing. While
many workers still commute to offices daily, more companies are allowing employees to work
remotely. From my perspective, remote work is more preferable, as it shortens commute
time and offers employees more flexibility.
TB: Firstly, remote work arrangements can significantly enhance productivity. Studies
have shown that employees often achieve higher levels of focus and efficiency when they
can work in environments that suit their individual preferences and needs. For instance, a
study published in Harvard Business Review highlighted/emphasized that employees at a
large travel agency who worked from home were not only more productive but also reported
higher job satisfaction. This flexibility allows them to manage their time effectively, potentially
resulting in better work outcomes.
Moreover, remote work can save companies money/resources. By allowing
employees to work from home or other locations outside the traditional office setting,
businesses can reduce various operational expenses. One of the most noticeable cost
savings comes from reduced need for office space. When employees work from home,
companies can reduce the size of their office space or even get rid of it completely for
certain positions. For instance, companies like Automattic, the creators of WordPress,
operate with a fully distributed workforce, saving millions annually on office overhead costs.
Additionally, companies can save on commuting costs. Many businesses give
employees money or benefits to help with travel to work. Switching/Converting/Changing to
remote work can reduce these costs or use the money for other purposes, such as
investment or (internal) innovation.

Visiting only one country during a vacation helps travelers save a considerable amount of
time and money. Instead of spending extra hours and expenses on flights, visa applications,
or transportation between different countries, tourists can use their budget more effectively
on activities within a single destination. For example, they can enjoy local food, book guided
tours, or take part in cultural festivals without worrying about overspending. In addition,
staying in one country allows people to explore its culture and lifestyle more deeply. They
have more chances to interact with residents, understand their traditions, and even learn
basic phrases of the language. This experience is more meaningful than just taking quick
photos in many places without a real understanding. Moreover, traveling within one country
is often less tiring. Tourists do not need to rush from one airport to another or constantly
adapt to new environments, which helps them enjoy their trip in a more relaxed way. As a
result, travelers can create stronger memories and return home with stories that reflect
authentic experiences rather than superficial impressions.

one country
means of transportation

First of all, traveling during peak seasons offers several advantages. Tourists can experience
exciting activities held on major holidays and services are often provided more fully than
usual. Local communities often organize traditional events, special exhibitions, or holiday
celebrations to attract visitors. Experiencing these activities gives travelers a deeper
understanding of the local culture and makes their trip more meaningful. For example, on the
Hung Kings’ death anniversary, people go to Phu Tho to commemorate the Kings. The local
government organizes cultural and spiritual events, including incense offering, palanquin
procession, and folk games such as tug of war, wrestling, rowing, and banh chung or banh
day competitions. Tourists visiting at this time can enjoy unique cultural experiences and
learn more about the region.
Despite these benefits, there are several disadvantages to this choice. Traveling in peak
seasons can be physically exhausting because of the large crowds. Visitors may have to
spend hours waiting to enter attractions or struggling with heavy traffic. In addition, popular
places can lose their charm when they are overcrowded, and travelers may not be able to
take photos or explore comfortably. Finally, the noise and pressure of busy environments
might reduce the sense of relaxation, which is often the main purpose of a vacation.

Agree
Nowadays, there are arguments on whether it is easier for modern people to pursue a
healthier lifestyle compared to those in the past. Personally, I believe that we live healthier
lives for the reasons that will be discussed further in this essay.

To begin with, people today have greater awareness about nutrition and fitness. Thanks to
scientific research and public campaigns, they understand the importance of a balanced diet,
regular exercise, and sufficient rest. For example, many people consciously choose to eat
more vegetables, reduce the consumption of unhealthy snacks, and engage in physical
activities, such as jogging, yoga, or swimming to stay fit. nutrient-dense (adj)

In addition, medical services are far more advanced and accessible compared to the past.
Regular check-ups, vaccinations, and early diagnosis/cancer screening allow people to
prevent serious illnesses and extend their lifespan. Moreover, modern technology, such as
health apps and wearable devices, encourages individuals to monitor their health indicators,
such as heart rate, blood pressure, sleep quality, and daily activities, making it easier to
maintain a healthy routine.
S+V, V-ing (which verb)

In conclusion, compared to the past, people today have more knowledge, better healthcare,
and modern technology to take good care of their health. Although modern life has people
develop harmful habits, such as spending too much time on screens, the benefits of good
nutrition and advanced medicine clearly make today’s lifestyle healthier. (TD_M166)
(NB_M166)

Disagree
Some people believe that people nowadays lead a healthier lifestyle than those in the past,
while others disagree. Personally, I believe that the lifestyle in the past was healthier, as it
was simpler and less affected by modern problems, such as fast food and pollution. I will
further discuss my point in this essay.

Firstly, people in the past followed a more natural lifestyle, which contributed to better health.
They consumed organic food, largely home-grown, which made their diet notably healthier.
Most vegetables and fruits were produced naturally on farms without the use of chemicals,
pesticides, and genetic modification technologies. Resultantly, food contained more nutrients
and fewer harmful substances, helping people stay strong and avoid diseases, ranging from
food poisoning to deadly cancers. In contrast, a good number of modern people adopt an
unhealthy diet and consume too much fast foods, ultra-processed foods, and sugary drinks.
These foods are high in calories but low in nutrients, possibly leading to obesity, diabetes,
and heart/cardiovascular problems. (KO_M166)
mortality rate

Another factor that contributes to the past’s healthier living conditions is the quality of the
living environment. As there were fewer factories and vehicles, the environment was much
less polluted than it is today. Breathing fresh air every day helps people reduce the risk of
respiratory diseases. Moreover, spending more time outdoors in a cleaner environment
allowed them to enjoy nature and stay physically active. This refreshing air was one of the
key factors that made the lifestyle of the past healthier than today’s.

In conclusion, although modern life provides certain health advantages, such as advanced
medicine and technology, the lifestyle in the past was generally healthier. People ate
natural food without chemicals, and breathed cleaner air. These factors helped them
maintain better overall well-being. Therefore, I would prefer the healthier and simpler
lifestyle of the past, as it contributed more effectively to physical and mental health.

Even though online books exist, it is important to have library buildings in the
community. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
In recent years, the growing popularity of e-books has raised the question of the necessity of
physical library buildings. From my perspective, physical libraries remain essential in the
community, even in the age of online books.

To begin with, libraries provide wider access to information compared to electronic books.
Not everyone has a reliable internet connection or smart devices, such as smartphones,
Kindles, and computers, for e-book reading. Public libraries offer the majority to have free
access to information, learning materials, and entertaining products. This is an important
movement to ensure social welfare and promote social progress, especially for vulnerable
groups, such as low-income households, students, and the elderly.

In addition, libraries are also safe spaces for studying, working, and social gatherings. Many
of them are hubs for educational events, workshops, and club activities, playing a crucial role
in fostering community engagement. For instance, the local library in my neighborhood holds
a book discussion every Sunday morning, attracting readers of all ages and social classes to
join and share knowledge. All attendees show great satisfaction, new friendships are formed,
and people are eager to broaden their knowledge.

Last but not least, library buildings are necessary for cultural preservation. They house
physical archives, rare books, and local history collections that may not be digitized. More
than book storage, a library helps safeguard traditional and cultural heritage that might be
lost without proper care from professionals. These impacts remain largely unachievable with
online books and e-learning activities in general./ particular

In conclusion, although digital books have gained great traction thanks to the convenience
they offer, physical libraries still play a crucial role in promoting equal access to knowledge,
fostering community, and preserving cultural values. They are an indispensable part of
human society, even in today’s tech-driven world.
What are the advantages of companies allowing their employees to have short breaks
at work? (Đề thi 13/7/2024)
Nowadays, several employers permit their workers to have breaks while they are at work. I
believe that it is an efficient way to improve the employees’ work performance and help
promote a healthy working environment. Moreover, the companies can also show their
appreciation towards the employees’ efforts, which enhances their loyalty and work ethic. I
would like to shed light on my points in the following paragraphs.

First of all, providing short breaks/intervals between shifts gives employees time to rest and
regain energy. By having snacks, taking quick naps, or doing light exercises, workers can
reduce their stress levels as well as avoid health issues caused by prolonged time sitting
and looking at computer screens (back pain, eye strain, bad posture, spine-related issues).
Hence, the productivity will be ensured, given that people can navigate their thoughts better
and generate more interesting ideas in a relaxed state of mind. According to several studies,
a high level of stress and tiredness can sabotage one’s work performance, or result in higher
chances of conflicts, arguments, and even violence between colleagues. Therefore, I firmly
believe that arranging adequate/decent break time for employees is crucial in order to foster
a supportive, encouraging, healthy environment for individual professional development.

Furthermore, some business owners may disapprove of this option due to the distraction it
may bring, which I totally disagree with. From my point of view, allowing employees to have
time to unwind is an effective method to promote workers’ loyalty, work ethics, and the
company's reputation. If employers show that they really care for the employees’ health and
prioritize their well-being, people will be more likely to stay with their companies for a longer
time. Low turnover rates will lead to less unexpected expenses associated with (that comes
with) recruitment, which enables the business to operate smoothly. The employees will also
spread nice rumors/share positive information about their work environment, thereby
promoting the company's reputation, trustworthiness, and positive public image.

In conclusion, the advantages of allowing employees to take short breaks at work are
irrefutable. I hope more and more companies will embrace this method for a better working
environment and business opportunities in the future.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of only starting to work on your tasks
when the deadlines are close?
quality () - __ skills usually hint at/signal strong leadership, confidence, which are highly
appreciated in today’s corporate setting.
strong stress-management skills/ admirable mentality/ creativity
Career prospects

Nowadays, many people tend to procrastinate on their projects until the last minute.
Although this approach may offer significant motivation, it carries/poses potential risks
regarding work quality, work ethics, and fostering/perpetuating bad habits. I would like to
shed light on my points in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, the reason some employees choose to delay their tasks is often due to the
overwhelming workload they face. When they are assigned many projects, workers may
struggle to efficiently allocate their time to solve everything on time, even when they wish to.
Therefore, they often start working on their assignments at the last minute. Sometimes, it is
the only feasible option to handle work responsibilities while still having/ensuring time for
their personal life.

Another benefit of this practice is the motivation boost it provides through deadlines. Studies
have shown/demonstrated/proven that productivity tends to increase under time pressure or
the threat of penalties. In reality, most companies have strict penalties for work delays, such
as negative feedback, reduced bonuses, monetary penalties, or limited/seized promotion
opportunities. These consequences encourage employees to work harder and force them to
seek solutions to finish their duties on time. Consequently, the work progress can be
assured, leading to smooth and effective organizational operation.

On the other hand, this habit poses some serious threats to work ethics and employees’
professional development. Workers’ prolonged procrastination will sabotage/hinder
organizational performance in the long run/the long term due to subpar/poor work outcomes.
The limited time available to complete a task does not allow for a thorough examination of
issues or the generation of good ideas, often resulting in superficial (substitution for shallow)
or incorrect solutions. As a result, this will diminish/narrow opportunities for individuals to
thrive on their career paths, leading to stagnation in skills and decreased/low job satisfaction.

Take my partner as an example. We have been working together since 2020 and
collaborating with him is challenging/a dead end as he tends to procrastinate until the last
minute to start any task. Even though he often manages to complete his part before
deadlines, his work quality is typically subpar, irrelevant, or riddled with minor mistakes that
require days to rectify. Eventually, he was transferred to another division with the same title,
while most of his colleagues, including me, were promoted to leadership or managerial
positions.

In conclusion, procrastination at work usually does more harm than good. Efficient workload
management and self-discipline are crucial skills that individuals must possess to succeed in
this competitive job market.

In some countries, the government will pay the tuition for people who intend to attend
universities, while in some countries, the students pay the tuition themselves. Which
option is more beneficial? Why?

Opinions are divided as to whether the government should pay the tuition fee for
university students. In my opinion, financial responsibility should be covered by the
government to promote citizens’ access to higher education, leading to the country’s
development and the nation’s prestige.
Generally, the most challenging part of attending university is financial issues. In
most countries, it usually costs a student thousands of dollars for tuition, textbooks,
and extracurricular activities yearly, let alone additional expenses if the students
come from another city or nation. As a result, many young people from low-income
households often give up on academic pursuits after high school and instead seek
employment to support their families.

Moreover, even those who choose to further their education frequently have to take
part-time jobs to alleviate financial stress, potentially leading to overwork,
exhaustion, and poor academic performance. Government support can eliminate
these worries, allowing more people to pursue higher education and excel in their
studies. Undoubtedly, university students are the main workforce in the future, the
engine to keep the nation moving forward.

In developing countries like Vietnam, our economy has suffered from a shortage of
quality workers/workforce in industrial areas. This has noticeably slowed the
developing speed of the nation and limited numerous opportunities for national
growth and personal betterment. Although some funding programs have been
established over the years, the ultimate responsibility still lies with policymakers and
the government itself.

To conclude, human resources are the core and the concrete foundation for the
longevity of a country. Despite some benefits that requiring students to pay for their
studies may bring, such as encouraging a sense of self-reliance or saving the
national budget for other purposes, government-funded educational programs should
be embraced on a large scale.

Many governments are interested in supporting environmental protection programs.

From my perspective, I appreciate that it is a good use of public funds.
Environmental problems are becoming serious and without governments attention,
the negative impacts will be dangerous. I will clarify my point in this essay.

One of the most benefits of environmental protection programs is that they help
improve community health. If governments support clean-water systems, reduce
industrial emissions, use clean-energy sources and expand public transportation, the
environment will be fresher, which is really significant for community health. As a
result of improving community health, the expenses for healthcare will cost lower.
For example, after Amsterdam encouraged people to use clean transportation and
introduced a public-transport improvement plan, the level of air pollution decreased
noticeably because people tend to use public transportation instead of their private
cars.

Furthermore, protecting the environment supports long-term economic growth.

Although these programs require investment, they often bring financial benefits over
time. We have many clean and sustainable energy sources. Renewable energy
projects, such as solar farms in Japan or wind-power plants in Ninh Thuan,Vietnam,
have created thousands of jobs and saved a lot of money while reducing
dependence on fossil fuels. On the other hand, Japan earns billions of dollars each
year by using solar energy and promoting eco-tourism.

Besides, government support is essential because environmental issues are too

large for individuals or private businesses to handle alone. Problems like climate
change, deforestation, or ocean pollution require coordination, strict regulations, and
long-term planning, which only governments can enforce.

In conclusion, using government funds to protect the environment is an excellent

choice. It improves public health, strengthens the economy, and ensures that future
generations can live in a clean and sustainable world.

What is the best way to improve education quality? One-on-one sessions / More
parent involvement / Wider subjects

When it comes to effective strategies to enhance education quality, one-on-one sessions

stand out as the most impactful, especially when tailored to accommodate individual
students’ needs. This essay will discuss further the advantages this approach offers.

One of the most prominent benefits of this method is better focus. Students are less
distracted and more engaged in the lesson when they are the only ones attending. Besides,
shy or hesitant learners often find it more comfortable to raise questions or ask for help
privately. It also makes mistakes more acceptable and less embarrassing, which boosts
confidence and participation. To conclude, one-on-one classes allow for better knowledge
absorption and information retention.

In addition, one-on-one sessions allow students to receive direct attention and immediate
feedback from teachers, promoting mistake correction and understanding reinforcement. It
also enables instructors to tailor lessons to their students’ strengths, weaknesses, and
learning styles. For instance, if a student struggles with pronunciation in Spanish, a
one-on-one tutor can focus intensively on phonetics and intonation.

Moreover, one-on-one sessions allow for necessary adjustments to the surroundings for a
more comfortable learning environment. For example, a teacher can intentionally dim the
light in the classroom to better facilitate a student struggling with epilepsy. These
customizations are challenging to implement in a group setting, yet they are impactful for
achieving enhanced academic results.

In summary, engaged families and a broad curriculum are important factors contributing to a
strong foundation for long-term educational success. However, personalised instruction and
enhanced focus offered by one-on-one sessions allow for more immediate academic
improvement.

Do you agree or disagree that it is never too late to learn how to play a sport? (Đề
16/4)
Some hold the belief that sports are a privilege for young ages only, which I completely
object to. Age might change how we approach physical activity, but it should not stop anyone
from learning something new.

First of all, playing sports has wonderful benefits for our health. It improves cardiovascular
function, flexibility, and mobility, as well as lowers the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and
chronic/acute illnesses, which are common health issues among seniors.

Moreover, people of all ages can choose a sport that suits their physical abilities. For
instance, an elderly person is suggested to participate in low-impact sports, such as
swimming, tai-chi, or yoga, while someone in their mid-20s is welcome to explore their
potential in something more intense/physically demanding, like boxing or track-and-field.

Engaging in physical activities also does wonders for our mental wellness. It boosts mental
clarity/cognitive function, enhances memory, and stimulates the release of endorphins, also
known as the “happiness hormone” (serotonin/dopamine/oxytocin). Regular sports players
are more likely to maintain emotional stability (stable hormone level), have a lower chance of
depression, and achieve an overall higher quality of life.

In addition, sports can be a great way to meet new people, expand our relationships, and
feel part of a community/a sense of belonging. My cousin met the love of his life at a tennis
club at the age of thirty-six, and my grandfather has found a new passion in baking Earl Grey
cake for his newly joined mountain trekking team. Sports open up opportunities to try new
things and challenge our limits.

Many people think that it is the end once they have aged past fourty. They tend to lose all
the motivation to start from the beginning, to grow and tap into their potential, refusing to
believe there is any left in them. Learning how to play a sport reminds us that growth isn’t
exclusive to the young, but rather a lifelong pursuit.

In conclusion, although physical limitations may increase with age, the opportunity to learn
and enjoy a sport remains open to everyone, making it clear that it is never too late to start.

Should the government support artists financially?

There are some arguments about whether the government should support artists financially.
Personally, I disagree with this view because of some reasons that are going to be
discussed in the following paragraphs.

The first reason is that government funds should prioritize some essential public needs, such
as healthcare, transportation, education and property reduction. These areas directly
improve people’s living standards and create long-term benefits for society. Since the
government budget is limited, funding to art activities may reduce sources for more urgent
social needs. For example, in some Vietnamese provinces, local governments have spent
much money on festivals and large cultural shows, while many rural schools remain old and
overcrowded.

The second reason is that regular financial support may unintentionally make some of the
artists dependent on the government. When they know that funding is guaranteed, some
artists may have less motivation and pressure to improve their skills or create new ideas.
They might design projects mainly to satisfy funding requirements rather than to inspire the
public. Therefore, the allocation of funds has been abused and counterproductive, causing
damage to the state and society.

On the other hand, public funding is necessary for some historical and valuable art forms
that cannot survive in a commercial market. For example, government programs supporting
traditional performances such as “Quan họ” or “Chèo” help protect cultural identity so that
those art forms will attract more attention from young people. However, this benefit depends
heavily on transparent management and clear objectives; without these conditions, subsidies
still risk being misused and discouraging improvement.

In conclusion, although art plays an important role in cultural life, I do not believe
governments should financially support artists. Essential services should be a priority, and
excessive subsidies may create dependence instead of supporting true creativity.

2.
The question of whether the state should provide financial assistance to artists has sparked
significant debate. Personally, I disagree with this proposal because I believe public funds
should be directed toward more urgent social needs. In this essay, I will present several
reasons to support my perspective.

First of all, the government budget is limited, and it is essential to prioritize spending on
fundamental sectors. Instead of funding artistic projects, the authorities should focus on
improving public infrastructure, healthcare systems, and education. Investing in these areas
provides direct benefits to the entire community and ensures long-term economic stability,
which is more critical than supporting the creative arts.

Furthermore, in today’s digital age, artists have various alternative ways to generate income
independently. Rather than relying on government grants, they can earn substantial revenue
from brand advertisements, fan donations, or monetization on social media platforms. These
diverse sources of funding allow talented individuals to sustain their careers based on
market demand and public support, making state intervention unnecessary.

In conclusion, although the arts play a role in culture, I am convinced that the government
should not be responsible for their financial support. It is more practical to allocate the
national budget to essential public services while letting artists thrive through modern
commercial opportunities.
