For this project, I wrote a narrations about my life that have not been lived it's fullest.
The
script focuses on the emotional and psychological experience of becoming older,
especially the difference between what we expect adulthood to feel like when we are
young and what it actually feels like when we reach that age. I chose to write it in a
reflective and storytelling style, using my own memories as inspiration, such as sitting in
the same place I used to sit when I was ten years old and comparing my thoughts from
the past to its progress now. The purpose of the script was to show how growing up
does not always feel like freedom, but instead often feels like pressure, responsibility,
and overthinking, which can stop people from enjoying the present moment.
Even before writing this script, I gained a deep understanding of my own thoughts and
feelings while growing up. While writing, I realized that many of the emotions I described
were things I had never clearly shown before. I often felt stressed about the future,
school, and expectations, but I did not realize how much these thoughts affected the way
I experience life now. When I wrote about how I used to imagine the future as something
exciting and how I now feel more careful and hesitant, I understood that this change is a
normal part of becoming older. Writing the script helped me see that I am just a person
but not the only person who feels this way, and that many people (probably) go through
the same process of becoming more aware and more responsible as they grow up.
One important thing I learned from this project is that overthinking can prevent people
from enjoying the present. In the writing, I described how I sometimes think about the
future so much that I cannot fully enjoy the moment I am in. For example, I wrote about
feeling detached during experiences that should have been fun because I was already
thinking about when they would end. This made me realize that being aware of time
passing is part of growing up, but it can also become a problem if it stops us from living
our lives. Through writing this, I feel that it is important to balance responsibility with the
ability to enjoy the present.
This experience can be useful for me in the future in several ways. First, it helped me
practice writing in a more emotional and reflective style, which is different from my usual
writing. This can be useful if I wanted to journal my feelings in the future. Second, the
message of the script itself can help me when I feel stressed about school, university, or
my future, I can remind myself not to spend all my time worrying about what comes next.
The idea that life is happening now, not only in the future, is something I want to keep in
mind as I continue growing older. In the future, this mindset could help me make better
decisions, because I will try to enjoy opportunities instead of avoiding them out of fear.
During this project, I faced several problems. One difficulty was putting my thoughts into
words in a way that sounded natural but still meaningful. I had many ideas about
growing up, responsibility, and overthinking, but it was hard to organize them into a
script that made sense and had a clear message. Another problem was that channeling
about personal feelings is uncomfortable. I had to think about memories and emotions
that I do not usually prefer to talk about, which made the writing process slower and
sometimes frustrating.
I overcame these problems by rewriting and expanding my ideas into smaller relevant
topics to be pieced back later . Instead of trying to write everything perfectly at once, I
focused on one part at a time. I also read through what I wrote several times and added
more details on my thoughts and experiences. This helped the script feel more complete
and more personal. When I felt stuck, I thought about real situations in my life, like
school stress or thinking about the future or a memorable past, and used those
memories to make the writing more honest.
After all, this project helped me regulate my thoughts better and improved my ability to
express it to words. It also made me realize that growing up is not only about getting
older, but also about learning how to deal with responsibility while still allowing yourself
to enjoy life. This is something I will try to remember in the future as I continue to face
new challenges and decisions.
