Student Guide: How to Write Your Marketing Event Coursework

Referencing Style: Harvard Referencing

1. Introduction (200–250 words)

• Introduce your chosen marketing event (must be within the last 12 months).

• Mention the company name, industry, and what the event is.

• Explain why this event is interesting or important.

• State the purpose of your report.

• Mention which marketing theories you will use.

• Give a short overview of the report structure.

2. Selection of the Marketing Event (450–500 words)

• Clearly state which marketing event you selected.

• Mention when and where it happened, and where it was reported.

• Explain why you chose this event.

• Explain why it is relevant to marketing.

• Show that it qualifies as a real marketing event.

• Support with evidence from news, websites, reports, etc.

3. Description of the Event (450–500 words)

• Give a short summary of what happened.

• Explain the tools used (ads, social media, influencers, events, etc.).

• State the company’s objective and target audience.


• Keep this section short—1–2 paragraphs only.

4. Analysis of the Marketing Event (450–500 words)

A. Why is the event important?

D. Apply marketing theories such as:
