SPEAKING SCRIPT

Situation: Mai and Kim are classmates. They’re recently becoming close friends, and
books are the things keeping them connected. Today, the meet each other at the
university library.
Kim: Hey Mai! Nice to meet you here, are you coming here to borrow books?
Mai: Kimmmm….! Good to see you. Yes, I am. I have an upcoming project, so I want to do
some research on books and the Internet, too. How about you?
Kim: Hmmm…I come here for English Language books and some Chinese textbooks, but
unfortunately, they ran out of those lately. They asked me to pre-order those and wait for
around 1 to 2 weeks.
Mai: How unlucky! But are there any books that you’ve been reading lately? Or… are there
any that you craving for?
Kim: Yes, there is. I’ve been reading a book called “The name engraved in your heart”. It’s
used to be a Chinese book but have been translated to Vietnamese. The context is fantastic. It
is about two guys who have been best friends since they were young. Very inspired and
unique.
Mai: Great! You must let me borrow that whenever you finish.
Kim: Yeah sure. And you, any books lately?
Mai: Absolutely yes. I’ve been reading “999 Letters to Myself” which is a fascinating book.
Reading it gives me a lot of thought-provoking quotes that stick with me and helps me feel
less negative.
Kim: Woah! That’s sound motivative.
Mai: We should exchange ours books later, I’m so curious about yours now.
Kim: We should. Umm excuse me, Mai. I have to go now; my class will start at 7.
Mai: Oh, okay. See ya. Talk to you later.
Kim: Goodbyeee.
