8.2. Shift COG

COG envelope is considered for the design to take into account of the possible COG shift due to uncertainty of the load
distribution that may change during the design development in accordance with Structural Design Basis.

8.3. SPMTs accelerations and wind load and inclination by route-Trim

8.3.1. SPMTs accelerations
Inertia forces due to acceleration/deceleration of the SPMTs
 1 m/s2 shall be considered in the longitudinal direction of the SPMTs.
 1 m/s2 shall be considered in the transversal direction of the SPMTs.
These effects will be applied through virtual corrections of COG of the Jacket:

P

hX hY

Longitudinal Elevation Transversal Elevation

P: Gross weight of the Jacket P: Gross weight of the Jacket

HX: Horizontal action (Acceleration/ deceleration or HY: Horizontal action (Acceleration/ deceleration or
Slope) in longitudinal direction Slope) in transversal direction

hX: Distance from horizontal resultant elevation to hY: Distance from horizontal resultant elevation to
Ground level Ground level

EH-X: Virtual correction of CoG due to the horizontal EH-Y: Virtual correction of CoG due to the horizontal
action in the longitudinal direction action in the transversal direction

The Virtual corrections of CoG are generated by the same way CoG is shifted to reflect the uncertainty of its real locations
(previous section):
 Due to SPMT’s acceleration/deceleration

8.3.2. Wind load

Refer “Metocean condition report Vung Tau” Maximum wind speed with return period extreme value in 10 years – 1 minute
mean wind speed is 15.6 m/s at 10 m above ground level.

SACS software has been used to compute the design pressure to be applied on pre-defied wind screens depending on the
elevation and using API 2A formulation.

Table with pressures screens and resultants for Wind load in loadout condition, WDX for X direction and WDY for Y direction is
in the following.

These loads will be considered through a virtual correction of CoG as detailed:

P Wind speed Hx hx WH-X
(MT) (m/s) (MT) (m) (m)
2036.19 15.6 8.543 14.87 0.062

P Wind speed Hy hy WH-Y

(MT) (m/s) (MT) (m) (m)
2036.19 15.6 11.183 15.40 0.085

8.3.3. Route inclination and trim of barge

Distance from Jacket final location to quayside only 126m, and yard is designed with ground level +5.5m same level of
quayside +5.5m. So, route inclination is very small. During loadout, we can consider trim of barge.
For conservative case, we can consider slope and trim 2 degrees in the longitudinal direction (the loadout direction) and
heel 2 degrees in the transversal direction

8.3.4. Combine Trailer acceleration and wind load and inclination
The Virtual corrections of CoG of Combine between trailer acceleration and wind load and inclination are generated by the same
way CoG is shifted to reflect the uncertainty of its real locations

So, now envelope COG box:

The isostatic three (3) bearing points configuration of the SPMTs allows a straightforward determination of the reaction forces
at each of these points.
Base on each COG location trailer reaction at each group will be calculated as table below.
