Narrator 2:
But deep in the shadows, two men hid—not looking for peace, but for a ransom.

Ms. Kavitha:
Alright, kids, spread your mats. We'll rest here for an hour, and then head to the stream.

Adhithya:
Let’s explore after lunch, ma’am! I saw butterflies everywhere.

Preethi:
But not too far, Arjun… this place looks spooky.

Renu:
Haha! Maybe we’ll find jungle ghosts!

Preethi:
Let’s just enjoy the silence. Nature is peaceful.

Ms. Kavitha:
Alright, no wandering. Stay close. Let’s have our lunch.
Narrator 1:
Suddenly, two masked men stormed in—one held a rope, the other a stick. Fear froze the
air.

Kidnapper 1 –Yash:
Nobody move! One scream and someone gets hurt!

Kidnapper 2 –Arun:
Just do what he says. We don’t want trouble... if you cooperate, you’re safe.

Ms. Kavitha:
Who are you? Why are you doing this?

Yash:
We’re here for money. You look like rich brats. That’s enough reason.

Renu:
(Whispers) I’m scared…

Preethi:
Don’t panic. Stay calm.

Adhitya:
Sir, I only have my lunch box! Want a sandwich?

Preethi:
Please don’t hurt anyone.

Yazh:
Shut up! Empty your bags. Phones too.

Arun(hesitant):
Raghav… she’s bleeding. One of the girls hurt her hand.

Yash:
I don’t care! Tie them up!

Narrator 2:
But among the fear, small moments of compassion began to appear. One kid dared to speak
with kindness.

Adhithya:
Sir… what’s your name?

Yash:
None of your business!
Arun:
He’s Yash. I’m…Arun. Don’t be scared, we won’t hurt you if you cooperate.

Adhithya:
Why are you doing this? You don’t look like bad people.

Yash:
You don’t know anything about us! We had no choice!

Renu:
Maybe you still have one.

Arun:
We lost our jobs. No food. My little sister… she’s sick. He lost his daughter, this was the only
way to get money for her medicine and he is just heart broken

Preethi:
I understand pain. My dad lost his job too. We struggled for a year.

Renu:
We’re not rich. We struggle too. My mother works 12 hours a day.

Adhithya:
I sell bookmarks at school. Want one? It says Choose kindness.

Yash:
You think jokes and pity will change reality?

Adhithya:
Still, we didn’t become kidnappers!

Yash:
You talk too much, boy! We tried everything else. The world turned its back on us. We had
no choice other than this

Narrator 1:
The words struck Imran. He started to cry. Even Raghav’s hands trembled.

Yash:
I lost my daughter on a school trip. She fell… no one helped. The teacher was on the phone. I
lost her… I lost myself.

Arun:
Since then, he blamed schools. Thought taking revenge would bring peace.

Preethi:
That’s… horrible. I’m sorry. Truly.
Renu:
Your daughter wouldn’t want this.

Adhithya:
Yeah… she’d want you to help others, not hurt them.

Renu:
Your pain is valid. But your actions must change.

Ms. Kavitha:
You still have a chance. I’ll help you both. I promise.

Arun:
You would? Even after this?

Ms. Kavitha:
Yes. That’s what karuna means.

Narrator 1:

Yash:
I… don’t deserve your forgiveness.

Renu:
You do. Because you’re choosing to stop.
Preethi:
Everyone deserves a second chance.

Yash:
Uh! You said you’ll help us but there is a police jeep arriving

Adhithya:
We’ll say you helped us. That you brought us back safely.

Renu:
Take this. My lucky ribbon. Maybe it’ll remind you of today.

Arun:
You’ve changed us… more than we expected.

Ms. Kavitha:
Let’s call someone who can give you shelter. Food. Maybe a job.

Yash:
I’m… sorry. For everything.

Narrator 2: Just as Raghav lowered his stick and Imran wept, a jeep arrived. A man stepped
out—firm, yet gentle.

Narrator 1: Inspector Ravi. The officer in charge of the area. But today, he wasn’t here to
arrest. He was here to listen.

Arjun: Everyone okay here? We got a call… What’s going on?

Ms. Kavitha: Sir, it’s not what it looks like. These men… they were desperate, but they
didn’t hurt us.

Adhithya: They were about to, but… they changed. They need help, not jail.

Preethi: Please sir… they lost everything. They need compassion.

Arjun: Compassion? In a case of kidnapping?

Renu: Yes, sir. Because we showed them Karuna… and they let us go.

Yash: They’re right. We were wrong. We don’t deserve forgiveness.

Arun: We just… didn’t know how to ask for help.

Arjun: Sometimes, the law needs to listen before it acts.

Adhithya: So… you’re not arresting them?

Arjun: No. I’m giving them a chance. I’ll find them shelter, food, and counseling.
Ms. Kavitha: Thank you, sir. They deserve to start again.

Arjun: (looks at kids) And you all… gave them what the world couldn’t. Humanity.

Narrator 1: That day, no violence happened. No police were called. But lives were changed.

Narrator 2: Two lost men were found again. All because of one thing—Karuna.

Narrator: Let us choose compassion over anger. Let us be the reason someone believes in
good again.
