Grammar point: Present Continuous
O present continuous is usado para descrever uma ação que está em curso no momento.
O present continuous é formado por be + verb + ing.
Affirmative Negative Interrogative
I am going I am not going Am I going?
He/She/It is going He isn´t going Is he going?
You/We/They are going We aren´t going Are we going?

Attention: ing form

1. Verbos terminados em “e”, retira-se o “e” e adiciona-se “ing”.


E.g.: Live = Living
2. Verbos terminados em CVC (consonant+vowel+consonant), dobra-se a última consoante e
adiciona-se “ing”.
E.g.: Swim = Swimming
3. Verbos terminados em “ie”, retira-se o “ie” e adiciona-se “y + ing”.
E.g.: Die = Dying
Tip: Alguns verbos tais como: be, like, want and need, normalmente não vão para o gerúndio.
