What is TAISE?
Created by the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and Northeastern University, the Trusted AI Safety Expert
(TAISE) program is a rigorous, research-backed certificate program for professionals who build, manage,
or audit intelligent systems. It delivers a 10-module training course with both instructor-led and
self-paced options; with topics ranging from AI architecture and lifecycle risks to ethics, governance,
and cloud security in AI environments; as well as a final certificate exam. Through this program, learners
gain practical tools to drive responsible AI development, deployment, and adoption in their organizations.

Who is TAISE for?
TAISE is tailored for IT and security professionals interested in expanding their knowledge of AI best
practices. This includes AI developers, practitioners, auditors, compliance and governance professionals,
and others who are committed to integrating safety protocols into AI technologies.You’ll benefit most
if your role involves:

Are there prerequisites?
No prerequisites are required before you take the TAISE training and exam. A basic familiarity with AI,
cloud, and cybersecurity concepts is recommended. For foundational knowledge that will aid in your
understanding of the TAISE material, consider exploring CSA’s Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge
(CCSK) first.
How do I access the TAISE program?
The TAISE self-paced training package is available to purchase on the CSA Training site for $795.
TAISE instructor-led training courses are posted on the CSA Training Schedule when available.
Both options include:
● 10 training modules, either self-paced on the CSA Training platform or taught virtually by a
certified instructor
● A comprehensive study guide
● An exam token with 2 attempts (valid for 2 years)
● Access to the TAISE Prompt Library
● A certificate upon completing the training course that can be submitted for CPE credits in
compliance with NASBA standards set by CPE providers
● A digital badge and TAISE certificate upon passing the exam
Unlike other CSA certificate programs, TAISE is offered exclusively as a training + exam bundle.
There is no self-study or exam-only option.

How do I access the study guide?
You must purchase either the self-paced or instructor-led training to access the study guide. There is no
option to purchase the study guide or exam by themselves.

teams?

Do CSA Corporate Members receive any
TAISE-related benefits?
Yes. Corporate members get training benefits, which can be used on TAISE. Contact

What is the TAISE Prompt Library?
The TAISE Prompt Library is an optional resource for TAISE students designed to complement the
training. This resource provides a curated set of example prompts and techniques that show how to use
large language models to explore, reinforce, and apply key ideas from each module. It is not an exam prep
tool and has no bearing on the certificate test. Instead, it offers real-world, job-ready exercises that let
professionals turn course concepts into hands-on skills.
You must purchase one of the TAISE training options to access the TAISE Prompt Library.

Taking the Exam
What is the structure of the exam?
The TAISE exam is open book, online, and not proctored. It is made up of 60 multiple-choice
questions that have a single correct answer. These questions are selected randomly from a question
pool. The minimum passing score is 80%.
The topics covered on the exam include:
● AI fundamentals
● GenAI architecture and design
● AI use cases
● Ethics, transparency, and explainability in AI
● AI model lifecycle and threat taxonomy
● AI governance, risk management, and compliance
● AI safety and security
● Cloud and AI security
● Data security and privacy in AI systems
● Continuous learning and adaptation with AI
How many questions are pulled from each module?
There are 6 questions per module.
Is there a time limit for the exam?
Yes, there is a 2-hour time limit (120 minutes).
Can I get extra time on the exam if English is not my
first language?

Do you offer in-person testing?
No. You do not need to go to a testing center. The exam is available online at any time.
Do I need to schedule a testing date?
No. It is not necessary to schedule a time for the TAISE exam.
What hardware and software requirements do I need
to take the exam?
There are no hardware requirements or specific programs you need to install in order to take the exam.
Please ensure that you have a steady internet connection before starting to ensure you have the best
experience taking the exam.
Do you offer any testing accommodations for
learning disabilities?

When do I find out my exam results?
The results are immediate. You will know your score as soon as you finish the exam.
Can I review the questions I got wrong so I know what
to study for future attempts?
In an effort to maintain the integrity of the exams, the platform is designed to avoid giving out the
answers to specific questions. However, in order to assist those that do not pass the test to study for
future attempts, the exam platform will provide you with the number of questions you answered correctly
from each module.

To review any attempts you’ve made in the past, click on Exam Results in the Exams menu. Click into
each attempt and scroll down to see the module breakdown under certificate details. This can help you
understand which areas of the material you should focus on when you study.
Exam Attempts
How many attempts at the exam are included with
my token?
Each regular token includes 2 attempts at the exam.
Does my exam token expire?
Yes. Your exam token expires 2 years from the date it was issued. If necessary, it can be extended
for 6 months at a time. Contact support@[Link] to request an extension.
If I pass the exam on my first attempt, can I give my
second attempt away to someone else?
No.
If I fail my first attempt, is there a waiting period to
take my second attempt?
No, there is no enforced waiting period between attempts. However, we recommend taking time to study
after failing an attempt.
How do I get more TAISE exam tokens without
repurchasing the training?

After Passing the Exam
How do I get my TAISE Certificate?
After successfully passing the TAISE exam, your certificate PDF will be available to download from
your CSA Exams account. The certificate displays your name, the email associated with your CSA
Exams account, and your verification code.
How can I claim a TAISE digital badge?
After successfully passing the TAISE exam, you can follow these steps to claim your digital badge:
● Log in to the CSA Exams site
● Go to the "Exam Results" section
● Click on the "Claim Badge" link
● Click on the "I Consent" button to give CSA your consent to share your certification record details
(name, surname, email address) with Credly, the digital badge provider
● Receive (within minutes) an email from Credly with further instructions
Can I claim CPE credits for the training?
Yes, you will be rewarded with a certificate upon completing either type of TAISE training course. This
certificate can be submitted for CPE credits in compliance with NASBA standards set by CPE providers.
The self-paced training counts for 21 course hours. The course hours for instructor-led training varies
depending on the instructor and course.
