Introduction
Rainfall detection is essential in agriculture, home automation, and weather monitoring,
especially with unpredictable climate conditions.
Real-time monitoring helps protect crops, manage water resources, and prevent damage
during sudden rain.
Conventional rain detection methods are costly and limited in coverage.
IoT technology enables low-cost, portable, and efficient real-time rain monitoring systems.
This project develops an IoT-based Rain Detection System using the ESP32 and soil
moisture sensor, connected to the Blynk cloud platform for live data visualization.
The system provides instant rain alerts through an LED indicator and Blynk dashboard,
supporting smart farming, automation, and environmental monitoring.

This project develops a low-cost
IoT-based air quality monitoring
system using the ESP8266 and
MQ-135 sensor to detect harmful
gases.
The data is sent to the ThingSpeak
cloud for real-time monitoring and
analysis.
It helps create environmental
awareness by providing instant
alerts when pollution levels exceed
safe limits.

Explanation
The Air Quality Monitoring System
using ThingSpeak is an IoT-based
project designed to measure and
track air pollution levels in real
time.
It uses an ESP8266 NodeMCU
microcontroller and an MQ-135
gas sensor to detect harmful
gases like CO₂, NH₃, and smoke.
The collected data is uploaded to
the ThingSpeak cloud platform for
visualization and analysis.
This system provides instant
alerts through an LED indicator,
promoting environmental safety
and awareness.

Results and Discussion
The Blynk output shows
a red indicator,
meaning the MQ-135
sensor detected pollution
above the safe limit.
It alerts the user in real
time through the app,
indicating poor air
quality.
7
Conclusion
The Air Quality Monitoring System using ThingSpeak
was successfully designed and implemented using the
ESP8266 NodeMCU and MQ-135 gas sensor.
It effectively measures and monitors air pollution levels,
displaying real-time data on the ThingSpeak cloud
platform.
The system provides immediate alerts through an LED
indicator when air quality becomes unsafe, ensuring
public awareness.
This low-cost, scalable, and IoT-based solution supports
smart city initiatives and promotes environmental
sustainability through continuous air quality monitoring. 8
