Code could be –

● Numeric
● Alphabetic
● Alpha-numeric

Types of Questions:
1. Letter coding - Alphabets are directly coded according to some pattern
2. Number/symbol coding - Alphabets are coded in number/symbol form
3. Word coding - Word is coded into an alphabet/number/symbol

How to Proceed:
1. Assign numbers to the alphabet according to their places in the original alphabet series.
2. Numbers to be assigned both in forward and reverse order.
3. Try to decode the pattern and apply the same pattern to code the given word

Note:
1. Try to remember the numbering of one/two of the letters somewhere in the middle. (E,J,O,T,Y is
5,10,15,20,25)
2. For any alphabet, place in forward order + place in reverse order = 27
3. In the class, try to learn to code/decode the pattern, don’t solve it by option elimination. Keep all that
tricks for your tests/exam.
