The video linked above comprised the various

tools and pliers we use for adjusting eyeglasses’
frames.

These tools include:

I. Organizing work station:
It is a piece of furniture that is used for
assembling frames or for trimming services
like shaping a frame. It has drawers for storing
screws, plates, nuts and accessories that could
be used with frames.
II. Screwdrivers:
- Flat head screwdriver:
- Philips head screwdriver:

- Nut driver:

These screwdrivers are essential for tightening

and loosening of the screws and nuts used for a
frame.
III. Specialized pliers:
- Eye wire shaping plier:
Used for shaping the frame’s rim/ ring.

- Roller pliers:
Similar pliers than come with rollers for a
more precise bend on a metal frame.

- Needle nose pliers:

Essential for maneuvering when bending
very delicate parts of the frame like the nose
pads.

- Rubber-tipped pliers:
Have a protective layer, used for very
delicate parts of plastic frames or rods to
avoid scratching.
P.S If the plier doesn’t have a protective
layer, using a soft cloth is advised.
- Nylon gripping pliers:
It has a flat bottom and one to two teeth,
used to remove nylon from the frame.

- Round nose pliers:

Used to unlock the frame, avoid damaging
the lenses, they also unlock the suction cup
and can ‘suck’ it out in an easy and safe
way.

IV. Curved needle pliers:

Used to adjust nose pads/ narrow areas in an
eyeglasses frame.

V. Cutting pliers:
Used to cut nylon off of the ‘floating’ frame,
nylon can be pulled to one side before getting
cut. This kind of pliers usually comes with a
spring.
