table. --

bowl of soup in the table. –
-- Iza looks toward the bowl then gradually to her mother. ---
Jocelyn
Come on, let’s pray for the food.
-- The three of them bowed their heads while Jocelyn leads the prayer.

-- After the prayer, the three of them started to eat their food. When
suddenly, Jocelyn started to talk to Iza. –-
Jocelyn (V.O)
How’s your studies Iza? I heard that the releasing of the cards will
be this Monday. Your father would be at his work so I supposed I will
be the one who will attend the meeting.
Iza (V.O)
Yes, sure ma. I just kinda felt hard to cope up with my studies this
first quarter.

Jocelyn (V.O)
I told you to focus on your studies. I bet you give more time with
your dance practice rather than focusing on your academics. There will
be a perfect time for that.
Iza (V.O)
It’s not that I don’t give time on my studies ma, I was just hoping
you’ll give me the chance to see that there’s something more I can do.
Jocelyn (V.O)
You will never listen. Will you? *sighs* enough with this Iza. I don’t
want to ruin my day.
Joseph (V.O)
It’s not good to fight in front of the food honey. Just let Iza eat.
You both can talk about this later.
--The three of them continued to eat while Iza looks down, preventing
her tears.

Jocelyn. –
Joseph
Look, hon you don’t have to pressure Iza too much. I can see that she
is a very talented person.
Jocelyn
I know that hon, all I want is the best for her. Do you see Sally’s
daughter? She is consistent with her high achievements in school. I
bet she always listens to her parents.
Joseph
Oh no, hon… please don’t compare Iza to any other children. She’ll
stand out of her own. If you’ll just let her.
-- Iza went out from the living room and walks towards the kitchen to
get some water. When she entered the kitchen, she saw her parents
talking. She stared blankly at them while her parents did it to her
also. She did not bother to get water anymore and just leaves
immediately. –
-- Jocelyn, raising her eyebrows, looked on her husband when Iza
finally left the kitchen. Joseph just smirked on her and decided to
leave the kitchen also. –--
--Meanwhile, when Jocelyn was left alone in the sink, she stared
blankly at the window looking outside their home with a face that says
she’s contemplating about something. –

talking about the upcoming card day and was a bit anxious about their
grades.
Amy (V.O) (OVER THE PHONE)
Who will be attending for you Iza? Do you also feel a bit nervous?
OMGG!
Iza (V.O)
Hey, it’s not that big deal. I am still worrying my parents might
scold me if they happen to see my grades.
Alex (V.O) (OVER THE PHONE)
It’s okay Iz. I don’t think your grades are not that low. Haha, I know
everything’s going to be fine.
Iza (V.O)
Yup, I hope so. Bye guys. Got to catch up on something!
--Iza had the feeling that she needed to shake off her worries a bit
so she immediately tries to leave the call. -–
--Iza stood up contemplating if she will talk to her father. She
looked outside her room and sees her father standing outside sipping
in his mug. --
--Seeing his father, she immediately changed her mind and decided not
to talk to him, thinking that there are also a lot of things his
father is facing especially his busyness at work. –-
--Iza sat down again staring blankly at her desk. --

SCENE 5: CARD DAY

her mother silently and just staring at the black board. --
-- The meeting goes on and Iza’s teacher started to call out the names
of the students who will be getting an award for the first quarter.
Ms. Sanchez (Iza’s teacher) (V.O)
… next is, Basilliza Cervantes.
--Amy and Alex clapped their hands smiling at Iza. Iza looked shocked
and smiled towards her mother. Her mother smiled back to her and
tapped her back. --
--Iza walk towards the front smiling while receiving the certificate.
--
--Ms. Sanchez finished reading out the names and she now decided to
hand out the cards. --
-- It is now Iza’s turn for her card to be given and her mother
receives it. Meanwhile, Iza did not look yet on her card while she
patiently waited for her mother to finish looking. --
--Iza felt a bit nervous when she saw her mother’s face stares blanky
and a bit upset at her report card. Jocelyn then turned her head
toward Iza and just stared at her. Iza looked also towards her mother
feeling tense.

INT. LIVING ROOM- EVENING
--Jocelyn is sitting at the couch while waiting for Joseph to arrive
from work. --
-- After a few minutes, Joseph arrived, seeing Jocelyn sitting and
Iza’s report card at the living room table.
Joseph (V.O)
Hey hon!
Jocelyn (V.O)
Hey, how’s work?
Joseph (V.O)
It’s good! Nothing new.
--Seeing the report card at the table, Joseph asked about the card
day. --
Joseph (V.O)
By the way, how’s the card day earlier?
Jocelyn (V.O)
It’s fine. Iza received an award for this quarter. But I’m still not
satisfied with her grades. I think she better focus on her studies.
Joseph (V.O)
It’s fine hon. I know she’s doing her best. Where is she btw?
--Jocelyn called out for Iza to come downstair and talk to her father.
--
Jocelyn (V.O)
Izaa! Could you please come down? Your father wants to talk to you.
--Iza walks downstairs to meet her father. He greeted her with kiss
when she saw him. --
Joseph (V.O)
Hi dear! Congrats. I’m proud of you.
Iza (V.O)
Thanks dad!
--Iza hugs her father and smiles a bit awkwardly when she saw her
mother looking at them.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Iza, I’m proud of you too. But can you please focus more on your
acads? I know it has been really hard for you to juggle your studies
and sports. I think dancing would add more burden if you pursue it
right now.
Iza (V.O)
It’s okay mom. I really want to do it. I promise I’ll just do better
at school.
--Jocelyn smiled and both of them hugged Iza. –

SCENE 7: PAGES OF YEARNING

INT. IZA’S BEDROOM- NIGHTTIME

her notebook first and look on her drawings. -—
--Her notebook contains a collection of drawings that moves when pages
are turned quickly. There, she draws what she is hoping to see and
feel between her parents. –
Iza (V.O)
If only…
--Iza cries that night while flipping the pages in her note book.
There, the notebook depicts both of her parents who supports her with
her dreams. Who shows up when she needed them. --
--She closes her eyes as she lays down on her bed to go to sleep. --

SCENE 8: CASUAL TALK OF ACTIVITIES

INT. CLASSROOM- DAYTIME (NEXT DAY)
--Iza and her two best friends are having a casual talk when Amy
reminded her of their dance practice that they will be doing later in
the afternoon. –
Amy (V.O)
Oh, by the way Iza, are you going to our dance rehearsal later?
Iza (V.O)
Yes, of course! I even brought extra shirt. Are you going to be there
too? Let’s just go there later together.
Amy (V.O)
Oh no, I’m sorry. I need to go home immediately. We’re going to
celebrate my brother’s birthday later.
--Iza feels a bit sad when she heard that Amy will not come.
Iza (V.O)
Oh really? Well, it’s okay. I’ll just go there by myself.
--Iza suddenly remembered that she still has to attend her practice
for her volleyball game.
Iza (V.O)
Oh no! I forgot. I still need to go for my volleyball game practice
later. My mom would be mad if I will miss it again this time.
Alex (V.O)
Well, I think you can still come. What time does your dance practice
ends btw?
Iza (V.O)
Umm... My dance practice is 1:00-3:00 PM, while our volleyball
practice is 4:00-5:30 PM.
Alex (V.O)
Oh… that’s gonna be so tiring. Are you gonna be fine?
Iza (V.O)
We’ll see that later. Hahaha
--The three of them laugh about Iza’s answer.

SCENE 9: CHASING TIME

INT. DANCE STUDIO- AFTERNOON
--It’s just 3 o’clock in the afternoon when Iza’s choreography trainer
requested for a 30 minutes extension of practice since there are still
a lot of improvements needed for the dance.
--Iza’s feels a bit worried now, her hands fidgeting while
overthinking if she might be late for her volleyball game practice. --
-- She thinks of asking their dance trainer to leave already but she
hesitated when she saw him shouting and rushing her other dance mates
to get up and practice. --
--Iza tries to cope up with the dance steps while anxiously staring on
the clock. On the back of her mind, she is deeply worrying about her
game practice. --
Iza (S.O) (While dancing)
I really need to go; I really need to go. Should I ask him now? Or
maybe not? he only said 30 mins. Everything’s gonna be fine. I’m going
to get there on time.
--It’s now 3:35 in the afternoon when their trainer dismissed them. --
--Iza grabbed her things immediately and rushes to leave the studio
waiting for a ride to get to her volleyball game practice.

SCENE 10: A HOPEFUL SWIFT

EXT. STREET- RIDING IN JEEPNEY
--Iza felt relieved when she was able to ride the jeepney just after
she arrived at the waiting area. --
--Minutes passed; she keeps on checking her phone for the time. It’s
already 3:40 PM. She looks outside, checking the distance if she’s
still far. –
--After going through a short distance, they arrived on the street
where there is a long traffic. Iza now feels anxious and overthinks,
looking at her phone again. --
--She heard her phone rang. Alex texted her asking where she is
already and informing her that their coach has arrived at the gym and
waiting for other players. --
--Iza told her that she was stuck on traffic and trying to get there
as soon as possible.
SCENE 11: ARRIVING AT THE FIELD
EXT. VOLLEYBALL GYM- LATE AFTERNOON
--After minutes of getting stuck at traffic and battling her worries,
she finally arrived at the gym. Yet her overthinking still did not
fade knowing that she is late 25 minutes. --
--As she walks down going to her team mates, she heard a shout.
Coach Trek
Hey Iza! Why are you late?
Iza (V.O)
I’m sorry coach. Our dance practice was extended and I got stuck on
traffic.
Coach Trek (V.O)
You should be responsible with your time. Look, there is no right or
wrong reasons here. This team needs you and you should be here on
time. Do you understand?!
Iza (V.O)
Yes coach.
--After their discussion, Iza looks around and she saw everybody was
staring at her. She bowed her head and just walk slowly towards her
team.
--Coach Trek called her again and Iza came to him. --
Coach Trek (V.O)
Since you’re late, we will extend your practice time. The other teams
join you later.
--Iza, not knowing what to say, just nodded and left. --
--It’s already 5:00 and coach Trek advised Iza to extend her practice
for an hour. --
--Iza went on to practice with the other team and Alex waited for her
so they can go home together. --
--Iza’s extended time practice has finished and it’s already 6:05 in
the evening when she checked her phone. Her body was sore and she is
worrying that she might arrive late at their house. --
Iza (V.O)
Hey Alex! Come on let’s go. I need to go home already. My curfew time
is close.
Alex (V.O) (Running towards her)
Yes, yes! Come on let’s go!

SCENE 12: COMING HOME

EXT. STREET- DUSK
--While they were walking on the street to get to the waiting area of
the jeep, Iza talks with Alex. –
Iza (V.O)
Thank you so much for waiting for me Lex.
Alex (V.O)
Don’t be so dramatic! Haha. No problem. Btw, are you okay?
Iza (V.O)
Obviously not. I’m tired, and I am still thinking about what happened
earlier. I’m screwed! I disappointed coach Trek again and I’m scared
my mother would scold me when I get home.
Alex (V.O)
Hey… calm down. It’s okay. Everybody gets bad day sometimes. Coach
Trek’s anger will pass. Just get back to him tomorrow by coming to
practice early. Be there by 1 PM so there will be no complaints from
him. HAHAHA
Iza (V.O)
Hey! You’re too much! Hahaha. What will I even do there for 3 hours?
Hahaha
Alex (V.O)
Practice?!
Iza (V.O)
Okay… That’s enough! Hahaha
--The two of them just laughed all their stress away. Iza tries to
cope up from all her exhaustion as much as possible. After a few
minutes of walking, Iza arrives at the waiting area to stand by for a
jeepney. While Alex, going to walk still, kissed Iza goodbye. As she
gradually walks away, she waved her hand towards Iza and shouted
sarcastically:
Alex (V.O)
Just update us when you get home! And oh, if you’re mother scolds you
again.
--Iza, hearings Alex Joke, shouted back:
Iza (V.O)
Sure! I’ll update you right away!
--Waving their goodbyes, Iza stood still in the waiting area and Alex
continued to walk off. --
--As Iza waits for jeep, many arrived but the reason that it is rushed
hour, the jeeps are always crowded. And the traffic just continues to
build up. --
--After a few minutes, a jeep arrives again and despite of its
crowdedness, Iza decided to hitch so she can get home already.

SCENE 13: TIRESOME RIDE HOME

EXT. INSIDE THE BUS- EVENING
--Iza is now a bit frustrated because of the crowds and traffic. Her
body is so tired but she still manages to encourage herself. Thinking
what might happen when she gets home, she brushes off her worries at
the back of her head. --
--Almost an hour has passed when she gets home safely.

SCENE 14: COUNTING UP PRESSURES

INT. HOUSE- EVENING
--Iza went inside their house and Jocelyn heard her arrival. --
--When Iza saw her mother, she kissed her. And as expected, Jocelyn
asked her a bit irritated why she went home late. –
Jocely (V.O)
Where have you been Iza? Why did you come home so late?
Iza (V.O)
I’m sorry mom. I got stuck in traffic.
--Iza, trying to hide her other reasons, answered her mother briefly.
Jocelyn (V.O)
That’s it? You just got stuck in traffic? Of course, it’s always
traffic when it is rushed hour. Just tell me your other reasons if you
don’t want me to get mad.
--Iza, trying so hard to be silent, nodded her head and fidgeting her
hands. --
Jocelyn (V.O)
Hey?! Are you listening? Where have you been? Did you hang-out with
your friends again? You know what?! Your friends bring nothing good
about you. You should have gone home after your class and study your
lessons here.
--After hearing her mother’s rage, Iza finally speaks up.
Iza (V.O)
No mom! Can you please stop blaming them? I’m tired mom. Can I just go
to my room?
Jocelyn (V.O)
No! not until you tell me the real reason!
--Joseph just arrived home when he heard Jocelyn and Iza are both
raising their voices to each other. --
Joseph (V.O)
Hey, hey, hey. Calm down you two. What’s wrong? Why are you shouting?
--Jocelyn answered him madly,
Jocelyn (V.O)
There! Look at your child. She just went home minutes before you
arrived. It’s already late. I was asking her nicely but she was so
impolite.
--Iza, who’s nodding the entire time, instantly looked up madly with
her mother. She was not able to take her mother’s attitude as she just
heard her lying to her father. She knows within herself that she has
no intention of disrespecting her mother. --
--Despite of this, Iza still manages to contain her anger. --
Joseph (V.O)
Okay, enough. Let’s talk about this once and for all. I’m just tired
from work and this is all I got when I get home? Iza, can you please
speak your side lightly dear?
--Iza, hearing her father’s side and how he speaks gently, was not
able to contain her tears and answered her father with her tears
coming down from her eyes. --
Iza (V.O)
Dad?...
Joseph (V.O) (looking at her calmly)
Yes dear?
Iza (V.O)
I was late with my volleyball game practice and then coach Trek asked
me to extend my practice time. I left the gym late already and I got
stuck in traffic.
(Joseph) (V.O) (holding Iza’s shoulder)
It’s okay dear… don’t cry. Why have you been late to your game
practice anyway?
--It took 5 seconds before Iza answered hesitantly.
Iza (V.O)
Because I attended my dance practice dad. Our trainer asked us also
for an extended time since there are still a lot of improvements
needed to be done. I did try to…
--Iza did not manage to speak well already since she was crying so
hard in front of his father. –
Joseph (V.O)
Hey, it’s okay dear. I’m not mad. Don’t cry. Okay? Calm down…
-- Jocelyn who was crossing her both arms while hearing Iza’s
explanation, removed them and frustratingly scratched her head. --
Jocelyn (V.O)
See?! I was right, I knew it. Dance practice again huh?
-- Joseph, hearing Jocelyn’s reaction looked at her and spoke as
warmly as possible, --
Joseph (V.O)
That’s enough hon. We’ll just talk about this later. Iza must be very
tired too.
Jocelyn (V.O) (shouting)
No! This needs to be discussed right away! I already told her many
times to stop that dancing. And now, she’s trying to hide it from us?
Joseph (V.O)
She wasn’t hiding it. We already know it from the first place that
she’s having dance classes.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Oh… now you’re tolerating your child?
Joseph (V.O)
Hey! It’s not like that. Why won’t you hear your child’s side
sometimes? Have you ever asked her how is she? Have you ever, even
just a single word praised her sincerely?
Jocelyn (V.O)
Don’t take this out on me! Talk to your child!
--Their discussion ended when Jocelyn walked out. --
--Iza, trying to calm herself from crying, hugged her dad. --
Iza (V.O)
I’m so sorry dad. Now you and mom are not okay because of me.
Joseph (V.O)
Hey, it’s okay dear. We’re fine. Don’t blame yourself. For now, just
go to your room and get yourself some rest. I bet you really had a
long day.
Iza (V.O)
You don’t have to say dad.
Joseph (V.O)
Haha. I’m so proud of you dear, despite of all you’ve been through,
you still remain positive. Now, wipe all that tears in your face. Do
you want to be ugly? Hahaha...
--Iza, hearing her father’s comfort, just wiped her tears and smiled
genuinely to his father. --
--Despite of all the comforts and support Iza’s receiving from her
father, she still preferred to hide her struggles. Especially all her
frustrations with her dance and game practice and the situation that
happened earlier when her coach scolded her. She helps herself in
managing these knowing that her father has his personal struggles and
pressures too. She thought about this while walking upstairs going to
her room.
SCENE 15: PAGES OF YEARNING (PT.2)
INT. IZA’S BEDROOM- NIGHT TIME (AFTER LONG DISCUSSION)
--When Iza went inside her room, she grabs her notebook and draw again
all the things she hopes for to see with her mother. --
--The drawing was the same as before that moves when you flip the
pages. --
--Inside the pages are the illustrations of support and understanding
from her mother. Her unconditional love and honesty. --
--By the end of the drawings, she wrote at the last page, “Why mom?”
--She did not bother to come downstairs again to eat dinner. She just
cried herself again to sleep.

SCENE 16: PASSING DAYS TO FORGET

--Days have passed when Iza was trying to forget and heal from her
mother’s argument. –-
--Iza was preparing for her incoming Volleyball championship game. She
gave her best to make her mother proud and somehow make a change from
her mother’s point of view towards her. --
--She even talked to her dance trainer to defer her dance practice so
she can focus well on their game practice. –

SCENE 17: A PRETEND SUPPORT

INT. HOUSE- LIVING ROOM-DAY TIME
--One day, Jocelyn’s friend went on to visit to their house to invite
her on her friend’s son’s graduation celebration. –
--Jocelyn warmly invites her inside, sat down, and talked with her a
little bit. --
--Meanwhile, Iza went down from her room and saw her mother and friend
talking at the living room. She waved and went to her mother’s friend
ang greeted her. --
--After greeting, she walked off to do her business. --
--While she was doing the dishes, she heard her mother and her friend
talking about her. --
Teresa (S.O)
How’s Iza? She’s already a grown up now. The last time I saw her she
was still little.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Yeah, that’s right! Her performance in school is great. She is an
honor student this first quarter. I’m happy to see her doing her best
at school. You know what? She’s juggling her academics, sports and
dance classes. I bet she’ll graduate with high honors.
Teresa (V.O)
Oh really?! That’s good! You must be a proud mom for her. I believe
you and Joseph are raising her well.
Jocelyn (S.O)
Yes, we are. We’re trying to be supportive as much as possible.
--Iza, hearing her mother’s pretentions, avoided to react as much as
possible and just minded her business. Iza speaking to herself, said;
Iza (S.O)
Wow mom…

SCENE 18: INSTANT HESITATION

INT. DINING ROOM- NIGHT TIME
--When days have passed, Iza tries to approach her mother to get along
again. –-
--She went to the kitchen to get some water and while drinking, she
thought of telling her mother that she cancelled her dance practice
for now so she can focus well on the game
--Seeing her mother sitting at the dining table, looking at her
laptop, Iza approached and back hugged her. --
--But sadly, she was not expecting her mother’s reaction when she
hugged her. –-
Jocelyn (V.O)
Hmm, what is it this time?
--Iza was hoping from her mother to reciprocate her hug as she was
trying to tell her mother that she deferred her dance practice for now
to cope with the game’s practice. She was a bit happy and proud to
tell it to her mother. But, seeing and hearing her mother’s irritable
reaction she preferred to say;
Iza (V.O)
Nothing ma. I love you!
Jocelyn (V.O)
Hmm… you make sure to win this game huh? You father and I will be
there. I don’t want to get disappointed.
--Iza, removing herself from the hug, answered sadly; --
Iza (V.O)
Yes mom…

SCENE 19: SUPPORT SYSTEM

INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM- DUSK
--2 days before the championship game, Alex and Amy decided to have a
sleepover at Iza’s house to show her support to her. –-
--When they arrived at Iza’s home, Jocelyn opened the door and stares
at them directly. --
--Trying to be polite as much as possible, the two greeted her mother
and went inside the house.

SCENE 20: MOMENTS OF SUPPORT

INT. IZA’S BEDROOM- NIGHT TIME
--Meanwhile, the three of them just talk a lot about their lives. When
Amy asked Iza if she already opened up to her mother about her dance
practice. --
Amy (V.O)
Btw Iza, have you told your parents about deferring your dance
practice for now?
Alex (V.O)
Yes, yes! Have you told it to your mom? Was she happy?
Iza (V.O)
Oh, about that… no.
--Iza answered awkwardly. --
Alex (V.O)
Why?!!
Iza (V.O)
I tried to tell it to her tho. I even hugged her, but she got ahead of
me.
Amy (V.O)
What do you mean got ahead of you? How did she know?
Iza (V.O)
She doesn’t know yet. I did try to tell her. But you know… I don’t
like it when she beats me to speak. I was just hugging her when she
immediately said, “hmm… what is it again?” I feel like she’s thinking
negatively about me already. That’s why I just hesitated to open it up
to her.
Alex (V.O)
Oh, that’s sad. Geez, your mother is so hard to deal with. Haha.
Iza (V.O)
Just forget it. I don’t even want to mind it anymore. I just want to
focus on my game. Cause she even told me I have to do my best in this
game, I should not disappoint her.
Amy (V.O)
That’s so demanding Haha. What is she trying to prove anyway?
Iza (V.O)
I believe she just wants the best for me.
Alex (V.O)
Hmm… stop gaslighting yourself. We know you’re hurting. Haha you can’t
keep anything from us.
Amy (V.O)
Oh, by the way, that thing that you shared to me a few days ago when
your mother’s friend just went here and they talked about you?
Alex (V.O)
Hey what’s that all about? I have no idea about that? Why are you two
only knew about this? You guys are so unfair.
Iza (V.O)
Hahaha don’t be so dramatic. It’s nothing. It’s just that my mother
was pretending that she’s supporting me which I don’t really like. It
hurts me a lot.
Alex (V.O)
Hey? It’s fine. Amy and me are both here, okay? When the time comes
that you feel you are alone, we’re just here. You can talk to us. We
want you to know that a lot of people are proud of you.
Amy (V.O)
Time will come that your mother will see your worth. But this time,
don’t be too hard on yourself.
Iza (V.O)
Thank you so much guys! You both are the best.
--The three of them hugged each other and suddenly, Alex cut the
drama. --
Alex (V.O)
Okay guys, enough with this. Haha. Let’s watch movie for now.
Amy (V.O)
You really are a buzzkill you know that?
--The three of them laughed together and enjoyed the night. –

SCENE 21: GAME DAY

[Link] GYM | DAYTIME
--The day for volleyball championship game has finally arrived. --
-- Iza braced herself with courage despite of her anxiety. She thinks
about her mother and the thought of recouping with her from all the
conflicts they had. She really wants to make her proud. --
-- She is standing with her team in the gym, while in the bleachers,
Amy and Alex are cheering her up, his father smiling and her mother,
however, is sitting silently looking straight at her. --
-- As the game progresses, the scores are now tied between the game of
Iza and her opponent in the final round of the game. --
-- On time out, the pressure is totally on, and at the same time, she
is experiencing an anxiety attack in the middle of her break. Her
father comes to her to comfort her but it does not get any better. –
-- Meanwhile, as her mother is seeing her situation, felt sorry for
Iza. However, she brushed off her feelings and told Iza to pull
herself together for the game.
Jocelyn (V.O) (in a calm but pressured voice)
Hey Iza? Are you okay? Come on. You can do this! Pull yourself
together. You should not lose this game. Come on!
-- Iza’s father and her two best friends comforted and cheered her up,
reminding her of her unwavering ability. Iza’s anxiety subsided and
she decided to continue in the game. –
Joseph (V.O)
You can do it dear! Come on! We’ll be right here and everything’s
gonna be all right!
Iza (V.O)
Thanks dad!
-- Iza answered her dad while standing, nodding, holding her both
knees and catching her breath.
-- Meanwhile, Coach Trek approached Iza. --
Coach Trek (V.O)
Hey Iza! Are you okay? Will you still be able to continue the game?
Iza (V.O)
Yes sir! Definitely.
-- The game continues again. And after rounds playing, the result came
out and Iza’s team lost the game. --
-- Iza felt so bad for herself. She walks towards the bleachers
crying. –
-- As Iza approaches the bleachers, her father and best friends
marched towards her with their arms open wide, ready to hug Iza. –
-- Iza lays her head at her father’s chest crying. While her two best
friends brush her back. --
Joseph (V.O)
Hey, it’s okay dear! Don’t cry. I know what you did right there and I
am proud.
Amy & Alex (V.O)
It’s okay Iza. We’ve seen how you gave your best.
--Iza’s mother stares at them while walking down from the bleachers.
Iza looks at her while she continues to cry. –
Iza (V.O)
I’m sorry, mom…
Jocelyn (V.O)
It’s okay. Come on. Let’s just go home.
-- The three of them went home and Iza continues to remain silent
inside the car. --

SCENE 22: BREAKING POINT

INT. IZA’S BEDROOM | NIGHT TIME
-- They arrived at home and Iza directly went to her bedroom, still
not talking. --
--Minutes passed, while Iza is crying in her room, her father entered
and tries to talk to her. –
--Iza is sitting at the edge of her bed nodding and her father is
sitting at the chair of her study table looking at her.
--While they were talking, Iza’s mother went inside too and started
scolding Iza. –
Jocelyn (V.O) (Angry)
See Iza?! Look what I’ve told you! You lost the game because you’ve
been doing a lot of things! I told you to focus on you sports and
academics for now. But what did you do? You’ve been doing other stuffs
that are not important. See? Now look what just happened!
Iza (V.O)
I’m sorry mom. I was trying to tell you the other day that I put off
my dance practice so that I can focus on the game. I tried so hard to
win this. I’m sorry if we still have lost the game.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Hey! Don’t you reason that out to me! You know it already that I don’t
support you with that. But you keep doing it behind my back.
Joseph (V.O)
Hey Celyn! Stop that. You’re too much! Don’t take this all out on our
daughter. I don’t know why you always let her feel that she is not
enough?
--Iza cried the more while hearing his father defending her against
her mother. –
--Iza then stood up from sitting at the bed, and speaks calmly towards
her dad.
Iza (V.O)
It’s okay dad. Just let mom.
--after speaking, she looks straightly towards her mother.
Iza (V.O)
I don’t know what should I do mom to make you proud. I don’t even know
what’s the reason why you are always pressuring me to be perfect. I
keep a lot to myself knowing that you will never hear me out. I know
that you and dad are always tired that’s why I don’t bother to speak
my feelings out on you.
But you mom? What should I do to make you happy? Why won’t you tell me
how you really feel about me? I am giving my best as much as I can.
You both never even asked me how I am and what happened on my day.
You wonder sometimes I am so silent inside the house? That’s because
you never let me speak with understanding. And I know… you’re always
tired. And you dad? I know you’re always busy and I don’t want to add
more burdens from you.
I’m here mom. I hope you’ll be able to see me as I am. I need you. I
hope you’ll learn to listen to me sometimes.
And dad? Thank you for being there. I will always be grateful that you
are my dad.
I just want you to know that I love you both and I am doing the best I
can to make you proud every day.
--After speaking these, Iza went back sitting at her bed. While her
father hugged her and kissed her head gently. --
Joseph (V.O)
I’m so sorry dear. You know that I love you so much, right?
--Iza was not able to answer as she cries continuously. --
--Meanwhile, as Jocelyn heard what Iza told her, stood still looking
at the both of them and eventually walked off and left the room. --
--Iza, seeing her mother left, cried again while her father just
continued to hug her. --

scratching his forehead, his left hand are placed in his waist. –

towards Joseph. --
--Joseph starts to speak hesitantly while walking towards Jocelyn. --
Joseph (V.O)
Hey, umm…
--Jocelyn started to cry, Joseph sits beside her and Jocelyn leaned
her head at Joeseph’s chest. --
Jocelyn (V.O)
All I want is the best for her. I didn’t know she is having a hard
time.
Joseph (V.O)
Yes, that’s one of our shortcomings too. I know I didn’t give my best
to ask her also how she is. Sometimes we expect a lot from her without
seeing her side.
Jocelyn (V.O)
I believe that’s what I always do. I don’t listen to her. I thought,
she’s a child that is very hard to deal with, but I just
misinterpreted her sometimes. It just hurts me sometimes about how I
feel that we are disconnected.
Joseph (V.O)
I’ve come to realize that sometimes we felt disconnected to them
because they remain aloof and distant and the reasons is that, we
always expect too much to them and we get ahead of their judgement.
Jocelyn (V.O)
That’s true, thank you for making me realize that. I need to make this
right once and for all.
Joseph. (V.O)
Hey, it’s not about me. I believed I did realize something too. We
both have shortcomings to this matter. But I think you really need to
talk to her.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Yes, yes… I’ll find the right time to talk to her.
Joseph (V.O)
Thanks hon. I’m happy to hear that. I hope everything’s going to
better now between you two.
--As Joseph ended his sayings, he hugged Jocelyn and Jocelyn hugged
him back too tightly, while still crying. --

seated at her study table, still thinking about what happened, but
she’s no longer crying. --

in her bedroom hurt her eyes. --
--It was so painful, she holds her head and decided to stand up and
turn off the lights in her bedroom. --
--She tries to ignore the pain and completely threw herself in the bed
to sleep. --
--She never tried to call her parents in the next room and she
remained lying on the bed enduring the pain. She then gradually felt a
slight pain in her eyes. --

the table. --
--She stood for about a minute thinking if she’ll go back to her room.
But while contemplating, her mother saw her. --
--Iza decided to walk slowly towards the dining table and remained
silent. She helped her mother prepare the table. --
--Jocelyn never spoke a word yet but she is silently glancing while
Iza is doing her business. --
--After Iza has finished putting plates on the table, she seated
quietly and waited for her parents. --
--Jocelyn walks towards the table holding a bowl of soup and as soon
as she placed the bowl at the table, she hugged Iza at the back. --
--Iza froze and remained quiet, shocked and felt a bit awkward to what
is happening. --
--Her mother hugged her in the back for about a minute and Iza
gradually touches her arms. She then heard her mother crying and spoke
to her:
Jocelyn (V.O)
I’m sorry dear… I hope you can forgive me.
Iza
……
--As they both remained in that situation, Joseph walks in and saw
Jocelyn hugging Iza. --
--He walks slowly towards them and tapped Jocelyn’s back
affectionately. --
--As Jocelyn felt Joseph’s hand, she then decided to let go Iza from
hugging. –
-- The two of them stood beside Iza, while Iza remained sitting and
looking down, preventing herself to cry. --
Joseph (V.O)
Umm… Iza? Your mother just wants to talk to you. I hope you’ll give
time to listen to her. Okay?
--Iza just nodded, agreeing to his father’s request. --
--Joseph stepped back and gave room to Jocelyn to get close to Iza. --
--Jocelyn grabbed the chair beside Iza and sits beside her. --
--She gradually took Iza’s hand and spoke to her gently. –
Jocelyn (V.O)
Hey dear, mama just wants to say sorry. After all you’ve said about me
last night, I realized a lot. I’m always been too hard on you.
--Iza started to talk with her tears running down from her face. --
Iza (V.O)
It’s okay mama. It doesn’t matter to me anymore. I just want both of
us to be okay. I am already happy that you’ve come to realize your
faults too.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Yes dear, I learned a lot. I hope you’ll completely find the right
time to forgive me. I know it’s not that instant for the pain I’ve
caused you.
Iza (V.O)
It’s okay mama. I still love you. Everything I do is to make you and
dad proud of me. I’m sorry for answering you rudely too last night.
Jocelyn (V.O)
It’s okay dear. I completely understand.
--Joseph, standing and listening to both of them walked closer and
hugged them both. –
Joseph (V.O)
Finally, you both are fine now. I just want to let you know that I
love you both and I am happy to what I am seeing right now. Oh wait!
I’ll get my camera and take photos of you together! Haha.
Iza (V.O)
Oh, come on dad, stop it. Hahaha
--The three of them laugh and took photos of their moments. The bright
smiles and sincere laughter are clearly seen it each photo they took.
--
--The last photo they took is Iza hugging them both, placing each of
her arms on the top of her parent’s shoulder and puts on a big smile.
--

SCENE 26: Informing Her Parents

Alex (V.O)
Wow! That’s good to hear, she finally came to her senses.
--Alex replied sarcastically. --
Amy (V.O)
Hey, stop it Lex.
Alex (V.O)
Why? It’s true. Right? Haha I’m just happy she finally saw the
struggles of our best friend here.
--Iza shared to them everything that happened in their home and at the
end, they all just laughed at the problems aways. --
--It took them hours of bonding, talking, and roaming around the park
until Iza finally told them that she needs to go home.
Iza (V.O)
Hey guys, I need to go home. My mom said I shouldn’t be late.
Alex (V.O)
For real?
Amy (V.O)
Already?
Iza (V.O)
Yeah. We have a family dinner outside tonight haha. You know, bonding
with them…
Amy (V.O)
Alright! Take care girl! I’ll be going home too. Alex is so talkative
I got tired of hearing her.
Alex (V.O)

making fun of it.
Amy (V.O)

an upcoming competition ma. Are you both available to attend?

Dear?

Iza, dear? Wake up! This is not real. Wake up!

Iza’s parents. --
Jocelyn (V.O)
How is she doc?
Doctor (V.O)
I’m so sorry ma’am. We were not able to revive her since she was
already 5 hours dead. She must have died while she was sleeping last
night.
--Jocelyn cried again upon hearing the news. Joseph hugged her and
asked the doctor: --
Joseph (V.O)
But what could be caused of his death doc? She seems fine.
Doctor (V.O)
We found out that she died from brain aneurysm. And a patient can die
while sleeping if they have a brain aneurysm that ruptures. A ruptured
aneurysm can cause a stroke or other life-threatening complications,
leading to death. However, a ruptured aneurysm usually triggers
symptoms like severe headache or other pain before a person falls
asleep. Did she mention to you sometimes that she’s having a severe
headache?
Joseph (V.O)
No doc. She did not even complain about it to us. She seems fine at
home.
Doctor (V.O)
I’m really sorry sir, I think your daughter is also unaware that she’s
experiencing the symptoms of brain aneurysm. I’m really sorry again
sir, I am extending my deepest sympathy to your family. Now, if it is
okay, I would like to excuse myself.
Joseph (V.O)
Yes, doc. Thank you so much.
--Jocelyn was just listening to them the whole time and was not able
to speak as she cannot stop herself from crying. --

with kiss. --
Alex (V.O)
Hi tita, how are you? We just wanted to visit Iza again. We miss her a
lot.
Jocelyn (V.O)
I’m still sad, trying to cope up with after everything that happened.
Amy (V.O)
We are really sorry for your loss tita. Iza is a really great friend
to us. She’s one of a kind.
Jocelyn (V.O)
I just hope I get to spend more time with her. I have a lot of
regrets. I blame myself why she got that sickness. I pushed her hard
and demanded a lot from her. I was the one giving her a lot of stress.
--Jocelyn cried again and Amy comforted her, tapped her shoulders and
said: --
Amy (V.O)
Hey tita. Don’t blame yourself…
--Alex cut Amy and spoke to Jocelyn. --
Alex (V.O)
Actually tita, we have heard her complained a lot of times about how
she experiences headaches and feels nauseated. We even told her to
tell it to you but she always says that you both are always busy and
she doesn’t want to bother you anymore.
Amy (V.O)
We thought that it is just nothing and a simple headache. She just
keeps it to herself.
Jocelyn (V.O)
I always focus of pushing her to be perfect, I never even thought of
how she feels. If I could just hug her right now. I really missed her
so much.

okay? We’ve got to go.
Jocelyn (V.O)
I just found Iza’s diary.
--Jocelyn starts crying again while giving the diary to Joseph. --
Joseph (V.O)
Hey, hey, it’s been 6 months hon. I know it’s hard but we need to
accept gradually that she’s gone. For your goodness’s sake, you need
to let go of all your guilt and regrets. I know Iza felt you love just
before she left us. I’m still here hon, I’m still here.
Jocelyn (V.O)
Yeah, I know. I just missed her so much.
Joseph (V.O)
Yeah, me too. But I know Iza doesn’t was to be miserable about her
loss. We still have each other. Okay?
Jocelyn (V.O)
Yes.
Joseph (V.O)

--She learned that it was Iza’s letter to her parents. She wrote it
the night after they had dinner outside. --
--Jocelyn reads it in the car and again, she couldn’t stop herself
from crying from what she has read. --
Iza (S.O)
To mom and dad,
Thank you for loving me. Nothing can be compared to the joy I have
felt tonight in spending time with you. Mom, thank you for finally
hearing me out. It matters to me so much and to dad, I’m always
grateful for your support. Thanks for believing in me.
All I want is to make you happy and proud someday. I love you both.
Always…
