Narrator 2:As he approached Jericho,a blind man was seated by the roadside

begging(blind, crippland deaf man walking on the street opposite direction in

order to intercounter Jesus.)

Blind:I can hear noise but I can't see.(Asks deaf [Link] signs not hearing taps his

Crippled :Jesus son of David is passing by .

Blind: Jesus son of David have mercy on me.

Crowd: Eeh!!Please not now!!Not again!

(Jesus pauses from the sermon that had preoccupied him earlier.)

Jesus: Bring him close [Link] do you want me to do for you.

Bartim: Make me see again.

Jesus:Receive your [Link] faith has made you well .(Everyone rejoices)

Narrator:Jesus entered and passed through [Link] was a man named [Link]

because of the crowd,he couldn't because he was short and [Link] he ran

ahead and climbed a sycamore tree, coz he knew Jesus would pass through

Jesus: Zaccheus hurry and come down. Today I must stay and dine at your house.

Zaccheus:Thank so much Master for this privilege and opportunity I will certainly host the

Jesus :A nobleman went to a distant country to get royal power for himself and return.

Servant, call in the ten slaves.(Slaves parade in front of the king .)

King: Now listen ,I won't be around for sometime. Continue with the work from where we've

left.I have ten pounds here, and you are ten of you. Do business with these coins till I

come back.I believe in you.(King leaves)

Crowd:Juxtaposition:Mini-scene.

Guy1 :What do you think about the king

Guy 2: He doesn't like [Link] only gave me one
pound
Guy3 :Me too, I don't like him.
Guy4: I don't even think he's good .

Guy1: Now,what should we do now that he is away.

Guy2 : I don't want him to rule over us.

ALL: Me too

(The other 3 [Link] about the coin, everyone alone.)

(Suddenly trumpet blows, plus a voice goes)

Voice:The king is back from the journey.

King: I said I'll come back. Now I am back. I have been given royal powers. No one is
greater than me now. Where are the ten slaves that I gave assignments?. Summon
them now.(slaves parade in front of the king). I gave you a task, give me your report.

Slave 1: lord, the pound that you gave me has made me ten more pounds.

King: Good servant, because you have been trustworthy in very small things, you'll be in
charge of ten cities (claps, rejoices thankfully.)

Slave 2: Lord, the pound that you gave me has made me five pounds.

King: Good! And you'll rule over five cities.

Slave 3: Here is your pound lord. You know I wrapped it up in a piece of cloth for I was
afraid of you, because you are a harsh man: youtube what you've never
deposited, and reap what you did not sow.

King: You foolish wicked slave. I will judge you by your own words. You knew that I was a
harsh man taking what I did not deposit, reaping what I did not sow? Why then didn't
you put my money in a bank? Then I could have collected it with interest.

Slave 3: You see i thought,,,,,,,

King: Shut up! Take the pound from him and give it to the one that has ten
pounds. (grumbling, subtle complaining amongst the slaves.)

Jesus: I tell you, to all those who have, more will be given; but to those who have nothing,
even what they have will be taken away.

Peter: What about the enemies who never wanted him to be king over them.

Jesus: They were brought in the king's presence and slaughtered right before him.
Narration: After he had said this, Jesus went on ahead going up to Jerusalem. Then he
came near Bethphage and Bethany at the place called Mount Olives. He sent two
of his disciples. With specific and very definitive instructions of untying a colt. And
if the owner would ask for the colt back- they'd just say ”The lord needs it”. And
so, the two disciples went ahead for the mission.

As they were untying the colt, the owner found them (teren, teren, Makosa!)

Owner: (Sharpens panga on the floor) Why are you untying my colt..(Awkward
silence).

Disciples: (looks at each other) It is ( Pointing at each other ) It is the Lord, Master who
needs it.

Owner: Ooooh si mngeanza na hio basi. Okay go. I hope the master wont forget me.
And write me in the book of life.

And they brought it to Jesus.

THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY TO JERUSALEM

(Director Jibambe – Luke 19::36-39)

(On the stage is the Jerusalem projection and the set up for the temple already in place)

Pharisees: Teacher, order your disciples to stop.

Jesus: (Silence as everyone in the crowd fears and respects the Pharisees)I tell you, if
these were silent, the storms would shout out. (They continue with it being more
exaggerated)

Narrator: (As this is happening, the temple set up for:

➔ Market place continues ~ Buyers and sellers, couriers and slaves, money and
animals, crazy laughters, projection of temple on the screen.)
➔ As Jesus saw the city of Jerusalem, he wept over it. Seeing the people, the conduct
and most troubling for him was the activities going on in the temple. He couldn't stand
it.
➔ Then with audacity, Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were
trading there, with power , force and unapologetically, He shouted!

Jesus: It is written! My house shall be a house of prayer; but you have made it a den
Of robbers.

(Chief priests, scribes and leaders of the people at juxtaposition, miming, murmuring while
pointing figures at Jesus. Jesus is busy praying)
Narration: Everyday he was teaching in the temple . The chief priest , scribes and leaders
held many meetings looking for a way to kill him. One day while he was at it,,,,,,

Jesus: God loves you and all His children. See, He sent me to preach good news to the
poor, to restore sight to the blind …..to set the captives free, to ,,,,,,

Chief Priests: Tell us, By what authority are you doing these things? Who gave you the
authority?

Jesus: I will also ask you a question, and you answer me .Did the baptism of John come
from heaven? Or was it of human origin?
(call themselves to a discussion)

C.P 1: If we say from heaven, he will say, why did we not believe him?

C.P 2: And if we say from human origin?

C.P 3 :The people will stone us ; for they are convinced that John was a prophet from God.

C.P 2: So what do we say?

C.P 1 : I don't know..

ALL: That's a good one. (Turning to Jesus)We don't know.

Jesus: Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

Jesus: Are your minds ready for another parable?

Crowd: Yes master.

Jesus: A man planted a vineyard and leased it to tenants and went to another country for a
long time. When the season came, he sent a slave to the tenants in order that they
might give the landlord his share of the produce of the vineyard; but the tenants beat
him and sent him away empty handed.

(PANTOMIME OF THE SCENE AS JESUS NARRATES IT).

Jesus: Next he sent another slave, that one also they beat and insulted and sent empty
handed. And a third one, this one they also wounded and threw out.

Jesus: The owner said to himself.

Owner: What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him. (Calls
out for the son)

Son: Yes father, You called me.

Owner: You know that vineyard of mine, go collect my share of the produce; from the
tenants. Just tell them; Your father; the owner has sent you. (Son leaves for the
distant land.)

Son: Greetings, I am here for our share. My father, the owner of this vineyard, has sent me.

Tenants: (Calls each other aside, for a mini-meeting)

Tenant1: This is the heir, let us kill him..

Tenant2: If we kill him, the inheritance will be ours.
Tenant3: What about theFather?
Tenant1: He’ll have no heir/son to take the vineyard from us.

Jesus: So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the
vineyard do to those tenants? (dramatic silence from the disciples).

Jesus: Well, I will tell you. He will come and destroy those tenants and give the same
vineyard to others.

Crowd: (Shock, Surprised, tensed) Heaven forbid!

Jesus:What do you think this parable means: The stone that the builders rejected has
become the cornerstone.
Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; and it will crash anyone it
falls on.

Narrator: When the scribes and the Pharisees realised that this parable was against them ,
They wanted to lay hands on Jesus at the very hour, but they feared the people.

Narrator: So they just watched him and sent spices who pretended to be honest in order to
trap Jesus and hand him over to the authority and jurisdiction of the governor. Lets
us see,,,,,

Pharisee: Teacher, we know that you are right in what you say and teach, and you show
reverence to no one; And you teach the ways of God in accordance to the truth.
So I ask…Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?

Jesus: Show me your coin, if you have any(They present it to Jesus). Whose title does it
bear?

Pharisee: Caesar’s

Jesus: Well, give what belongs to Caesar to Caesar and give to God, what belongs to God.

Sadducees: Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies, and leaves a wife but
no children.
Sad 2: Then, the man shall marry the widow and give and raise up children for his brother.

Sad1: Now there were seven brothers, the first one married and the second one died
childless.

Sad 2: Then the second and the third brother married the same woman (wife to their
firstborn and they both died childless).

Sad1: In the same way all the brothers; the fourth, the fifth, the sixth and the seventh
married the same woman and they all died childless.

Sad 2: Finally the woman also died.

Sad1: In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For all the seven
brothers had married her.

Jesus: Marriage is for the people here on Earth. But in the next life to come, those worthy of
being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage.
They will never die again. They are children of God; and children of the resurrection.

Jesus: But now, about the dead being raised,,,Well even Moses proved when writing about
the burning bush,,,long after Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had died,,,He referred to
them as God of Abraham, God of Issac and God of Jacob.

Jesus: So this means, he is the God of the living, not the dead, for everyone is all alive to
God.

Sad1&2: Well said teacher (Claps, Teaching everyone to clap).

Jesus: Before you leave, I have a question for you;

Sads: Yes,,,,,ask,,,,we'll answer!

Jesus: Why is it,,,,that the messiah is said to be the son of David?

Sads: It's written that way in scriptures.

Jesus: David himself wrote in book of psalms:

(Voice over): The lord said to my lord,
Sit here in the place of honour
At my right hand
Until i humble your enemies
I will make them a footstool
Under your feet

Jesus: You hear that….since David called the messiah, “Lord” how then can Messiah be his
son?
(Sadducees puzzled, cant answer and embarrased)

Jesus: Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade in the long flowing
robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces.
And how you love the seats of honour in synagogues and the head table in banquets.
And you know what, they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and pretend
to be holy by making long prayers in public for show. For this you will receive severe
Punishment.

Narrator: While Jesus was in the temple, He watched the rich people dropping their gifts in
the collecting box. (Everyone is
dropping , giving extravagantly, feeling themselves. Then comes a woman, slowly,
humbly, remorsefully then she drops two coins.)

Jesus: Verily, I tell you the truth; This poor woman has given more than all the rest of them.
They have given a tiny part of her riches, yet she has given everything she has.

Narrator: Now Jerusalem was the most beautiful and of course the capital of Israel. As a
rest it was magnificently decorated. And the disciples as well as everyone were all
pleased and awed by the appearance of the city. As they were commenting on
this, they triggered Jesus to prophecy on the end times also called Escatology.

Jesus : (LUKE 21:8-36)

Narrator: Everyday jesus went to the temple to teach, and afterwards, on early evenings, he
spent the night on mount Olives to pray. Crowds would gather outside the temple
every morning listening to him.
The Passover festival, also called festival of the unleavened bread, was also
approaching. The Pharisees were plotting to kill Jesus but they were afraid of the
peoples reaction; Cause they knew how famous jesus was and how the people him
with regard.
Then satan entered into Judas and he went to meet with those enemies of jesus…

Judas: (Finds the chief priest, Pharisees in the middle of a meeting. They are rather
frustrated )
Greetings.

Elder1: Respect yourself. We are busy. (Dismissively).

Elder2 :(Back to meeting) So how do we kill him?

Judas: I can help you out with that. (ignored)

Elder 3: (Noticing Judas) pharises, elders, Don't you know this man? He is one of the
disciples.

Elder1: What brought you here?

Judas : I can help you arrest Jesus. How do we go about it?

Elder2: Because you have been close to him, can you testify against him?

Elder1: Can we trust you to do this willingly ?

Judas: Well, nothing is for free in this world.

Elder3: Tell us how much do you want?

Judas: A lot of money!

Elder2 :(Just then, Elder1 pours down some coins, lots of them)
30 pieces of silver. Take it or leave it.
(They shake hands while laughing)
We have a deal!

Sean: And he agreed and began to look for an opportunity to betray Jesus. Now it was
finally the day of Passover. Lamb is sacrificed. In his height, Jesus sent Peter and
John ahead.

Jesus: Go and prepare the passover meal so we can eat together?

Peter: Where do you want us to prepare it?

Jesus : As soon as you enter Jerusalem, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you.

(Jesus speaks while scene is happening) * Jesus juxtaposition, disciples taking

Centerstage)

Follow him to the house he will enter .Say this to the owner.

John: The teacher asks …i quote…

Peter : Where is the guest room where I can eat the passover meals with my disciples?
(The line should be said together with Jesus.)

Jesus: He will take you upstairs to a large room that is already set up.
That is where you should prepare the meal.

(disciples now settle in, one by one; as Peter and John are arranging the place.
Mood is happy, excited about the place, the seats, the food and everything about the
passover meal)

Jesus: (After some time, he walks in )

I have been eager to eat this passover meal with you before my suffering begins
(Mood starts to shift to sombre).

I tell you that I won't eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the kingdom of
God.

(Takes cup of wine and gives thanks to God)

Jesus: Take this cup and share it amongst yourself. (as the cup is going round), i will not
drink wine again until the kingdom of God comes.

Jesus: (Takes bread , gives thanks and breaks it)

This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me.

(gives bread to go round)

By this time the cup has gone round and back to Jesus now.

Jesus:This cup is the new covenant in my blood, poured out to you.

(just then judas goes to pick up the bread on the table)

but the hand of he who is going to betray me is with me on the table.

(reaction of everyone, looking and shocked and murmurs )

Jesus: (In a long sad mood)

The son of man will go as it had been decreed but woe to the man who betrays him.

Judas : Why are you all looking at me?

Peter: It's clearer now than ever; the master said it.

Judas: And you think it's me?

John: Well, you said it by yourself.

Thomas : No relax….. i dont think it was him.

Peter: Okay so you guys are together on this?

John: Obviously! The doubter and the suspect.

Thomas: And you think you are way better than us?

Peter: No, that's besides the point.

Judas: There comes the knight and shining armour.

Peter: What's that supposed to mean?

Thomas: You should know! Aren't you the greatest disciple of all time

John:Yes he is (talking over each other, the argument now over the top.)

Jesus:(causing them to stop with the shout) BEHOLD!

Jesus: (Luke 22: 25-30)

Jesus: Simon, Simon, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have
prayed for you that your faith will not fail. (instructively) Simon, when you have return
to me, strengthen your brothers.

Peter: I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.

Jesus: I tell you Peter, the cock shall not crow this day before you have denied me three
times.(Awkward silence)

Jesus: When I sent you out without money, bag, sandals..did you lack anything?

All: Nothing master.

Jesus: But now, He who has money,a bag, take it. And be with a porch, take it. If you don't
have a sword, sell your stocks and buy one.

Peter: Look! Look lord! We have two swords.

Jesus: That's enough!

Narrator: Then accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the upstairs room and went as
usual to meet the others.

Jesus: (To the disciples) Pray that you don't fall into temptation. (walks away a stone throw,
kneels down and prays)

Jesus: Father! If you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me, Yet let your
will be done, Not mine.

Narrator: An angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. He paid more frequently.
(As Jesus is praying the narrator assumes the role of angel)
He was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like drops of blood.

Jesus: (Stands up; back to disciples who are now asleep) Why are you sleeping? Get up
and pray that you don't fall into temptation.
