Objectives: To develop their own storytelling talents, respect and

2. GRADE 8- DECLAMATION
Objectives: To enhance the learner’s peaking skills and to encourage tolerance, non- violence, and
respect for other’s opinion among the learners.
The contest is open to all Grade 8 learners only.
The learners shall be given a specific declamation piece deliverable in five minutes or less.
They shall memorize the given piece and deliver it through a video presentation. The video clip
shall be sent.
The judges will choose 1 winner per section and he/she will be the official representative of
his/her class. They will undergo another evaluation for the selection of the over- all champion.

3. GRADE 9- PUBLIC SPEAKING
Objectives: To provide learners with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to express themselves
clearly, with confidence and power, in a variety of speaking situations.
The contest is open to all Grade 9 learners only.
The learners will write their own speech deliverable in five minutes or less.
They shall memorize their piece and deliver it through a video presentation. The video clip shall
be sent.
The judges will choose 1 winner per section and he/she will be the official representative of
his/her class. They will undergo another evaluation for the selection of the over- all champion.

4. GRADE 10- SIX WORDS STORY
Objectives: To develop aesthetic sense among the learners, appreciate the poem, understand the thought
and imagination contained in the poem.

Mechanics:
Each student will create a story out of 6 words only. If the output lacks or excess one or more
words, it will be deducted from the points received.

This story must be put in a short bond paper. The presentation of output must be in a creative
way - may it be calligraphy, slogan type, picture, etc.,
The output must be passed on or before the deadline.

5. GRADE 11- WRITING A HAIKU WITH CREATIVITY
Objectives: To demonstrate how to share a brief moment or event by means of discovering their
creativity in writing a haiku poem.
The contest is open to all Grade 11 learners only.
The learners will make one haiku and it should be anchored with the theme, “Magnifying
Marian Language Ability and Skills to Promote Camaraderie and Excellence in Sharing
and Embracing the New Normal Communication”
Creativity is a must.

6. GRADE 12- FREE WRITING
Objectives: To spark a thought, idea, or story on the learner’s mind in order to practice and develop
their writing skills.
The contest is open to all Grade 12 learners only.
The learners will make a free writing which anchored to the theme, “Magnifying Marian
Language Ability and Skills to Promote Camaraderie and Excellence in Sharing and
Embracing the New Normal Communication”
It can be fiction or non-fiction.
The learners will present their output in a short bond paper and to be passed on November 23,
2020.

7. QUIZ BEE – All Learners
Open for all Junior and Senior High School students.
Questions will be posted on their Genyo and Edmodo accounts
There will be an elimination round for every section (Junior and Senior).
The winners from every section will compete on the next level of the quiz bee.
The learners from Junior and Senior will be given a reviewer.

Ms. Universal Language Online Edition
MAGNILOQUENCE. It comes from the three words which are MAGNIFICENT,
ELOQUENT, and QUEEN.
MAGNIFICENT which means impressive and beautiful.
ELOQUENT, meaning, fluent or persuasive in speaking or writing.
QUEEN must be charismatic, confident and have a winning attitude.
Each section from grade 7-12 must have a representative for the
activity.
The candidate must have a stable internet connection.
There will be three editions: novice, intermediate and advanced.
Novice Edition is for grades 7 and 8.
Intermediate Edition is for grade 9 and 10.
Advanced Edition is for grade 11 and 12.
There will be three categories for this event.
1. Creative Mask. Submission of candidate's picture wearing their
creative mask anchored in the theme. This part will test their creativity
and knowledge about the theme. (25%)
Note: The base of the mask should be made of cloth.

2. Essay Writing. The candidates will compose an essay about a specific
topic/question. This part is to test their thinking and English Language
skills. They will do this using their Genyo accounts and there will be
intended time for them to finish the task. (25%)

Note: The candidates' scores for creative mask and essay writing will be
added to know who will be in the top four per edition.
3. Online Q and A portion. This is the last part of the activity wherein
the candidates will have the Question and Answer portion through Zoom
Meeting while wearing their creative masks. They will be given __ minutes
to answer their chosen question. (50%)
Note: The scores from the three category will be added. The candidates
per edition will be awarded as the Ms. Universal Language Junior Edition
and Ms. Universal Language Senior Edition.
