Methods :
The experiment were done in lap for two weeks
Our group were weighed about 50 g of soil from containerby using spatula
and we were put it into baffled stirring cup. Then , we Filled in the cup to the
half with distilled water and after that we added a 10 ml of 0.5N Calgon.
After that, our group were Placed the cup on stirrer and stir for 3-8 minutes.
Then, we moved the soil into 1000 ml graduated cylinder and we filled up
with water until the 1000 ml mark. Then, we shaked the suspension
vigorously and we recorded the time and we made sure that the water is not
losses. After 20 second, we were inserted the hydrometer and at 40
second,we were taken hydrometer reading and temperature. then, we were
removed the hydrometer and we shaked again. Then, we were record
hydrometer and temperature readings after 2 hours. We also do another
experiment which is 30 g of soil put it in the oven and we were recorded the
result after 24 hours .
A 50g soil sample was weighed from a container using a spatula and placed
in a baffled stirring cup. The cup was then filled halfway with distilled water,
and 10 ml of 0.5 N Calgon was added. The cup was then placed on a stirrer,
and the soil was stirred for 3-8 minutes. The soil was then transferred into a
1000 ml graduated cylinder, and water was then added to the cylinder until
it was filled to the 1000 ml level. The suspension was then shaken
vigorously, and the time was recorded, making sure that there was no loss of
water or soil. After 20 seconds, the hydrometer was inserted, and at 40
seconds, the hydrometer reading and temperature were recorded. The
hydrometer was then removed, and the suspension was shaken again. The
hydrometer and temperature readings were then recorded after a 2-hour
period. A 30g soil sample was then placed in an oven, and the results were
recorded after 24 hours.
