[Link](2021).
Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets.
All references cited in the text should be present in the list of REFERENCES, and the list of
references should contain those referred in the report only.
Number the references (numbers in square brackets) in the list in the order in which they appear
In the report.
In the REFERENCES list, the names of all authors shall be mentioned. Shortening the list of
authors by using “et al.” shall not be done in the reference list.
All the resources, from which information (like figures, equations, tables etc.) is obtained,
shall be properly acknowledged by including in the reference list.
In the sample reference list, the first one is a reference to a journal paper, second is an
example for reference to a book, third for a conference publication.
Basic simple points to be practiced in any report:
1. There is a blank space BEFORE every Opening bracket.
eg: (good), (NO space between closing bracket and comma/full stop).
2. There is a blank space AFTER every full stop and every comma.
3. No full stop in Bulleted sentence (usually it is not a complete sentence)
4. Near every Figure/Chart taken from literature, acknowledgement of Source/ Courtesy/
Reference is a must.
5. Every Figure and Table used in the Report must be cited in the text.
6. Figure Title is always at the bottom (eg: Fig. 1.1 Experiment set up)
7. Table Title is always at the top (eg: Table 2.1 Mass distribution of model)
8. Show the expansion of Abbreviation first time it appears in the text.
eg: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
9. Write SI units in Standard form only: All graphs should show axis titles with (*unit)
eg: *Pa, kPa, MPa, GPa, kN, kg, m, mm, N, kN, MN, s, etc.
10. In a Table, all the numbers shall be of the same format:
eg: 1.123, 5.005, 1.500, 0.023, 0.000
