Title
Cross-Sectional Survey of Patient Satisfaction with Services at Private Versus Public Hospitals in
Arambag
Introduction
Patient satisfaction is one of the important indicators of the performance level of the health system. It
reflects the patients’ views of the care they receive and affects their utilization of health services,
compliance with treatment, and health outcomes. In India, health care is delivered by both the public and
private sectors, which have their own differences in terms of infrastructure, accessibility, cost, and quality.
The public health system is very important for providing affordable health care, particularly for the poor,
while the private health system is perceived to provide better quality care but at a higher cost.
