Script: Automatic Railway Gate Using QTPI Robotics
"Hello everyone! I’m Atharv and he is my partner Govindaraj, and today I’m presenting our
robotics project: an Automatic Railway Gate System built using QTPI Robotics. This system
uses a single IR sensor to detect trains and control the gate automatically—enhancing safety
and reducing human error."
"Railway crossings often rely on manual gate operation, which can be delayed or inaccurate.
Our project solves this by using a sensor-based system that detects trains and automates
gate movement, especially useful in rural or unmanned crossings."
"We used the QTPI Robotics Starter Kit, which includes:
QBrick(Mother board)
IR sensor (single, placed on one side of the track)
Ultrasonic sensor(single, placed on the other side of the track)
Servo motor for gate control
Buzzer and LED for alerts
RJ11 cables
Code2Play platform for visual programming"
"Here’s how the system works:
The IR sensor and ultrasonic sensor is placed on one side of the track to detect the
train’s arrival.
When the sensor detects a train, the servo motor lowers the gate.
A buzzer and LED activate to warn nearby vehicles and pedestrians.
After a fixed delay (based on average train length and speed), the gate reopens
automatically."
"We programmed this using Code2Play, QTPI’s intuitive drag-and-drop coding app. It
allowed us to easily connect sensor inputs to motor and buzzer outputs, and set timed
delays—all without writing complex code."
"Let’s see the system in action.

"In conclusion, our automatic railway gate system shows how robotics and QTPI tools—
especially Code2Play—can solve real-world safety challenges. Thank you—and I am happy to
answer any questions!"
