and produce narrative and expository texts (enumeration,
description, time order: chronology and procedural) based on their
purpose, context (christenings and weddings), and target audience
using simple, compound, and complex sentences, and age-
appropriate and gender-sensitive language.

C. Review:
Squid Game
While the music is playing, you will move around the
room. When the music stops, everyone must be freeze !
The pupil standing in front of the squid doll will fill in the
blank with the correct present form of the verb.
Directions: Fill in the blank with the correct present form
of the verb in parenthesis.

B. Establishing a purpose Pop the Balloons, Build the Picture!
for the lesson. Divide the class into four groups. Each group will be given a
(Motivation) set of balloons. Inside each balloons is a piece of a picture
puzzle, and each piece has a number at the back that
corresponds to a number on the board. One by one, group
members will take turn popping a balloon and sticking the
puzzle piece onto the board in the correct position. The first
group to complete the puzzle correctly will be declared the
winner.

C. Presenting Tell: Describe what you see in the pictures? What do think is

) Last Tuesday morning, Mia woke up excited, because
she knew she would learn about fractions in the school.
When she arrived in class, her teacher showed a big bag of
chocolate. Teacher cut the chocolate into four equal pieces.
She said, “If I eat one piece, I have eaten one-eight of the
bar.” Mia watched carefully as her teacher explained more
about halves, thirds and quarters.
At lunch, Mia and her friends shared pizza. They cut it
into eight slices. Mia ate two slices and said, “ I ate two
eighths, which is the same as one-quarter!”Her friends
clapped because they understood fractions too.
That evening, Mia’s mom gave her a cake. They cut it
into pieces and Mia practiced saying fractions. She felt
happy ,because she learned so much that day!

How to form the Past Tense of Verbs
1. Regular Verbs form their past by adding -d or -ed to
their base forms.

2. Verbs ending in consonant + y form their past by
changing the -y to -I, then add -ed.

3. Irregular Verbs change in spelling when they are used to
show past tense. Here are some examples of irregular
