Distribution refers to the process where the media product gets to the target
audience.

Distribution company for MOJO magazine:

Frontline Group is the distribution company that supplies chain services for
magazine, books and home entertainment products. Frontline was founded in 1986
where it began as a division of magazine publisher EMAP. Over the years, Frontline
has partnered with media groups like BBC, Immediate media and Bauer. Their
services include category solutions, fulfilment, promotions, custom solutions,
audience engagement and global reach. Frontline manage some of the most iconic
brands in media, including Radio times, Good housekeeping, Heat, Top gear, Lego,
Disney, Grazia, BBC good food, Match of the day, Empire, Mojo, Take a break,
Puzzler collection, Mens health, The Beano, and many more. 4 of the UK’s top 5
magazine publishers all rely on frontline for their distribution, as do 3 other well-
renowned publishers such as Vogue, What car and Your home.

Getting the magazines

Retail:
The method for retail is buying the products from a supermarket
like Tesco, newsagents, petrol stations like Esso and TG Jones.
Retail is a useful method to buy a magazine because you can
preview the magazine to decide if you like it or not and it is easy
to pick up when shopping. For MOJO magazine, this will cost
£6.99.
Subscription:
The method for subscription is
buying products through a
subscription which is a prepaid
agreement. This is useful
because the magazine will be
delivered to you in the post or
digitally. With a subscription, you
will be guaranteed a copy of the
magazine as there is no chance
of it being sold out. If you cancel
the subscription, you can always
renew the subscription if you want to continue it. On the website you can gift
somebody a subscription to the magazine. Usually with subscriptions, there are
discounts to the retail price. The cost of subscriptions on the great magazines
website include paying every 6 months by recurring payment for £34.99, pay by
annual recurring payment for £69.99 or a one off payment where you pay for 1 year
for £79.99.

The method for digital download is downloading the magazine on a device like
computers, phones and tablets. This is useful because there is no risk of losing or
damaging the magazine since it is on an electronic device. This is bought from the
great magazines website on the digital subscription page where you can pay by
annual recurring payment for £49.99, pay every month by recurring payment for
£4.99 or a one off payment for one year for £59.99.
