1 In fig. 1; Rz = 8.5Ω, Iz= 20mA. Find out VL. Vz = 10V

2 In fig.1; Rs=270Ω, Rz = 8.5Ω, input ripple voltage is 2V. Find out the ripple
in the output.

3 For the fig.2, draw the output waveform with proper values.

4 For fig.3; draw output waveforms. Calculate DC output voltage, output


frequency and ripple voltage using 1st and 2nd approximation of the diode.

5 For fig.4; draw output waveforms. Calculate DC output voltage, output


frequency and ripple voltage using 1st and 2nd approximation of the diode.

6 In case of example 4 and 5; what happens to ripples if


1.​ capacitance is halved?
2.​ Resistance is doubled?

7 For fig. 5; draw output waveform. Find maximum positive and maximum
negative voltage values.

8 For fig. 6; draw output waveform. Find maximum positive and maximum
negative voltage values.

9 For fig. 7; sketch VL and determine output voltage. Assume diodes are
ideal.

10 A bridge rectifier drives a load of 100Ω. It is driven by an AC voltage of


100V, 50Hz. Assume Si diode with minimum resistance. Calculate​
1.​ Average DC output voltage
2.​ Output frequency
3.​ Average load current
4.​ Rectification efficiency
5.​ PIV of each diode
6.​ RMS load current

11 For fig. 8; determine the range of RL and IL, that will result in VL being
maintained at 10V. Determine power rating of the diode. Vi = 50V, Izmax=
32mA, Rs=1kΩ

12 For fig. 8; determine the range of Vi that will maintain the VL at 8V and not
exceed power rating of the zener diode. Rs=91Ω, RL=0.22kΩ, Vz=8V,
Pzmax=400mW
