Main groups :
Kingdom → Phylum → Class → Order → Family → Genus → Species.
Specie
A specie is a group of organisms that can reproduce to produce fertile
offsprings

Hybrids
• When two different species interbreed.
• Often infertile (cannot reproduce).
• Examples:
o Mule (donkey × horse) – infertile.
o Liger (lion × tiger) – sometimes fertile but rare.

Binomial System
Developed by Carl Linnaeus.
• Every species has a two-part Latin name:
o Genus (first, capital letter).
o Species (second, lowercase).
• Example:
o Homo sapiens → humans.
o Panthera leo → lion.
• Universal system – used worldwide.
