Descriptive Title: COMPUTER SOFTWARE’S IN STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS
Course credit: 3 Units
Time duration 54 hours
Pre-requisite: Structural Theory
Course Description: This course introduces the use of computer software tools for analyzing and designing structural systems in civil engineering.
Emphasis is placed on modeling, analysis, and interpretation of results for beams, trusses, frames, and other structural
elements using modern engineering software. Students will learn to apply theoretical concepts from Structural Theory and
Structural Analysis to practical, real-world structural engineering problems.
The course includes:
Introduction to commonly used structural analysis software (e.g., [Link], ETABS, SAP2000).
Creating structural models and defining loads and boundary conditions.
Performing static and dynamic analysis of structures.
Interpreting software outputs and validating results using theoretical calculations.
