Direct and Indirect Speech Notes (Easy Urdu Guide)

1. Direct Speech: Kisi ke exact alfaaz batana. Is mein " " commas use hotay hain.

Example: Ali said, "I am happy."

2. Indirect Speech: Kisi ki baat apne alfaaz mein batana. Is mein commas nahi hotay.

Example: Ali said that he was happy.

Rules:

Rule 1: Commas hata dein.

Rule 2: 'that' use karein.

Rule 3: Pronoun change karein (I → he/she).

Rule 4: Tense change karein (am → was, will → would).

Rule 5: Time words change karein (today → that day).

Example Conversion:

Direct: She said, "I am going today."

Indirect: She said that she was going that day.
