Class 3 Wednesday 18/2
Introduction I'll welcome the students at the door, greeting each child and helping them settle into the
classroom. Then we´ll sit in a circle and I'll give a short explanation about starting a new
school year together in English, using simple and reassuring language.
Warm up I´ll show the students a puppet or a stuffie and I´ll tell them that this stuffie we´ll be our
“classroom stuffie” and it will be with us during greeting time or for special announcements.
I´ll ask the kids to choose a name for it and we´ll vote. After that, we´ll introduce each other
by saying our names and something that we like/like doing (EP: my name is… I like….). Then
we'll sing the hello song and the weather song. We´ll look at the calendar and then they´ll
help me to write the date and the weather on the board. Also, I'll tell them that we will have a
classroom assistant each day, so we'll look at the assistant of the day list and we'll also write
their name on the board.
Development I´ll ask the students to sit down and we'll talk about our holidays. Who did they spend them
with…..Where did they spend them….What was their favourite time during their holidays….
After they all share something, I´ll give them a sheet of paper, and ask them to draw their
favourite part or something they really liked about their holidays.
After the break, we´ll sit in a circle and we´ll talk about some classroom rules. Then I´ll ask
them how they are feeling during this first day at school. I´ll introduce the feelings chart and
I´ll give them a mirror and ask them to think about the emotion/s they are feeling at the
moment (the mirror is for them to see themselves and their facial expressions, What do they
say?). After they all used the mirror, we´ll look at the chart again. I´ll point at the faces of
the different emotions and ask them for ex Who is…Happy?? And they´ll raise their hand.
After that, we´ll talk about different things that make us happy, sad, etc at school so we can
get to know each other even more!
Then we´ll do an activity that they like. I assume most of them will say that they like when
we dance, so we are going to play some dancing games, such as freeze, the floor is lava, etc.

we´ll sing the goodbye song.
Class 4 Thursday 19/2
Introduction I'll welcome the students at the door, greeting each child and helping them settle into the
classroom.
Warm up We´ll sing the hello song and the weather song. Then we'll sit in a circle to do our greeting
routine (Greet, calendar, date, weather, assistant of the day). Today we´ll add our emotions
(EP: I am…Happy).
Development I´ll ask them to sit down next to the board and then I'll tell them that this year in English we
will have fixed paces, and they will change every 2 weeks or so. I´ll say their names one by
one and they will have to choose a chair (only the color of the chair), then, I´ll tell them
where they have to sit. After that, I´ll give them a small sheet of paper, and they will have to
create a small drawing about something they want. Then, we'll color and decorate them.
They´ll write their names on it and at the end of the day, I´ll help them paste it on their
chairs, so they can have customized chairs, and recognize where they have to sit down. That
way, they will not argue for chairs or places. When we change places, they will have to move
with their chairs.

Class 3 Friday 20/2
Introduction I'll welcome the students at the door, greeting each child and helping them settle into the
classroom.

Development First we´ll talk about the classroom, the things that are decorated and the ones that aren't.
I´ll point at the coat hooks and ask them if they are decorated. Today, each kid will decorate
their own coat hook by drawing a small self portrait. Before the self portrait, I´ll give them
the mirror, so they can look closely at themselves and think about the things that they will
have to draw. I'll ask them “What color is your hair? What color are your eyes? Etc. Then, I´ll
give them the materials and they will begin. I'll take the drawings home to laminate them
and on monday we'll decorate the hooks together.

Class 1 Monday 23/2

Development We´ll sit in a circle and I´ll introduce the notebook. I´ll explain that we´ll work on that
notebook but also we´ll have the folders as usual. Today we are going to start working on our
coversheets for the folder. We'll paint the background, write our names and color.

This will not be the actual coversheet, It´s only the first page of
their folders and it works as an introduction.

Class 2 Tuesday 24/2

Afterwards, we'll share our coversheets and I'll introduce the folders box. I´ll tell them that
each day when we finish, they´ll have to wait until everybody finishes and then I'll start
saying their names one by one. When they hear their name, they´ll give me their production
and I´ll put it away in the box.

Which ones jump, which ones fly, crawl, etc. Then we´ll play some games, Ex: Insect Hunt
(I´ll hide the flashcards of the different insects and I´ll ask them to search for them one by
one). Insect Role Play: I´ll choose one student and tell them to act like a butterfly, the rest of
the students will have to guess which insect is it.
After that, we are going to complete this worksheet

and then I´ll give them some spiders to color and paste on the spider web.

1. They will have to color a ladybug using red paint.
2. I'll have small black dots made of paper.
3. I´ll give them a die, they´ll throw it and count how many dots they got.
4. I´ll give them that many dots and they will paste them on the ladybug
5. After it’s dry, they will use permanent markers to draw the head and the legs.

guess which one it is, if they don't guess, I'll keep on drawing until someone does.
After the games, we are going to make sure that everybody finished the projects that we´ve
been doing so far and complete the ones that are incomplete.

world using different materials.
We are going to think about the things that we should include in this scenario, EP: a
ladybug… butterflies…. A caterpillar… flowers…. Trees. While they suggest those, I´ll make a
drawing on the board so they can imagine what we are going to do.
Then, we are going to work on this activity:
The goal is that they can see what the idea of this project is.
During the activity, we are going to use different textures depending on the animals. For ex:
we are going to use crepe paper to make wings, cotton for the bees, etc.

insects are the most important to recreate. (We will review body parts: head, body, legs,
wings)
Then, they will sit down, I´ll paste the flash cards of the insects on the board and they will
have to draw them as similar as possible.

insect?”. For ex: the ants should be on the ground, while the bees can be on a flower. Then,
we´ll place the insects together.
