CONS: fears of harassment (especially for women)

REBUTTAL:
Transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming individuals
often face high rates of verbal and physical harassment in gender-
segregated bathrooms. Gender-neutral options allow these
individuals to use the restroom without being questioned, scrutinized,
or targeted for harassment.

CONS: discomfort or embarrassment for some users


(particularly with shy bladder syndrome)

REBUTTAL:
these bathrooms were built with good intentions it is a
concrete declaration that our school finally accepts these
individuals for who they are and values their comfort
enough to build a space just for them.

CONS: Religious objections.

REBUTTAL:
While some religious beliefs may oppose these identities,
such doctrines should never be a hindrance to basic
human rights. Society has moved toward acceptance, and
personal religious views, MUST! not interfere with the
provision of safe, accessible spaces for everyone.

CONS: Privacy

REBUTTAL:
While some may fear for their privacy in gender-neutral
restrooms, the reality is that maintaining privacy is a
responsibility we all share, regardless of which bathroom
we use. These facilities were created specifically for your
safety—a concrete sign that society accepts you as you are.
However, if you are not yet ready to be open about your
identity, these bathrooms are an option, not a
requirement; you are still free to discreetly use the regular
restrooms with your peers.

CONS: Hygiene & Etiquette

REBUTTAL: Cleanliness is about character, not


gender.

Why should hygiene be an issue in gender-neutral


bathrooms when cleanliness is a basic lesson taught to all
of us, regardless of gender? Being male, female, or non-
binary does not change your morality or your manners; we
were all raised to clean up after ourselves. Society has
taken a step forward to build these spaces for our safety
and acceptance, and we must return that respect by being
mindful and taking care of the facilities. And remember,
this is about your comfort: if you are not open about your
identity, you are never forced to enter—you can always
discreetly join your peers in the regular restrooms.
