Today, we will learn how to divide 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit number without remainder.

Example 1: 48 ÷ 4

step-by-step (Teacher Modeling):

Look at the first digit: 4 4 ÷ 4 = 1

Bring down 8 8 ÷ 4 = 2

Answer: 12

Teacher asks: Did we have a remainder?

Students answer: No!

Example 2:

72 ÷ 3 7 ÷ 3 = 2

Bring down 2 → 12 12 ÷ 3 = 4

Answer: 24

Teacher emphasizes: When we divide, we share equally and make sure nothing is left.
