ProSimulatorTM

 Introduction
ProSimulatorTM is a high-end simulation based training platform for the plant operators.
ProSimulatorTM provides opportunities to manipulate systems to simulate all possible
emergencies and abnormalities, including plant startup, and emergency shutdown that an
operator has to face, when placed in the actual process plant control room. This ability of
personnel to respond to micro second variations in the parameters of a process plant, ensure
optimal production and absolute safety. ProSimulatorTM offers real-time solutions to real-time
problems. Combining years of operation and simulation experience, we have made possible a
technologically advanced dynamic simulator - the ProSimulator, designed to meet your
training needs for personnel ranging from trainee operators to experienced engineers, all at
an affordable cost.

Simulation is nothing but imitation or duplication of any system. Process Simulation is the
representation of any process (like Crude Refining, Catalytic Cracking, Ammonia Plant, power
Plant etc). Here the plant behavior is simulated by means of a set of mathematical models.
These mathematical models consist of set of algebraic and differential equations. A full-
fledged Operator Training Simulator (OTS) consists of a process model and the required
interfaces. There are primarily two interfaces namely, Instructor Station where the instructor
will be navigating the training program. The next interface will be a DCS look-alike interface,
which is called as the Operator Station, where the Operator/Trainee/User will be interacting
with the model. Generally the model development means the following steps:-

 Core Process Model Development By Using Mathematical Models

 Instructor Station Configuration
 Operator Station Configuration, Which Also Includes the Graphics Development.

The above steps are explained in detail in the manual in the forthcoming chapters.

2. Introduction to Software Package

The ProSimulatorTM package primarily consists of two stations:

 Instructor Station

 Emulated Operator Stations

These two stations are connected by TCP/IP protocol for data transmission.
