Instructions:

1. All questions are compulsory.

2. The question paper consists of four sections A, B, C, and D.

3. Use of calculator is not permitted.

Section A (1 × 10 = 10 marks)
1. Find the value of: 25 − 9 × 2

2. Write the reciprocal of 7.

3. How many sides does a heptagon have?

4. Convert 3/5 into a decimal.

5. What is the perimeter of a square of side 6 cm?

6. Write the successor of −1.

7. Simplify: 12 ÷ 3 + 4

8. What is the place value of 5 in 352?

9. Name the angle which is less than 90°.

10. Write 1 km in metres.

Section B (2 × 10 = 20 marks)
11. Solve: 3/4 + 5/6

12. Find the area of a rectangle whose length is 8 cm and breadth is 5 cm.

13. Simplify: (−6) + 15 − 4

14. Find the value of x if x + 9 = 17.

15. Write three multiples of 7.


16. Find the perimeter of a triangle with sides 5 cm, 7 cm, and 8 cm.

17. Convert 2.5 hours into minutes.

18. Find the mean of the first five natural numbers.

19. Draw and name an obtuse angle.

20. Express 45% as a fraction.

Section C (4 × 5 = 20 marks)
21. Solve: (a) 7/8 − 3/4 (b) 5/6 × 9/10

22. The length of a rectangular field is 15 m and breadth is 10 m. Find its area and
perimeter.

23. Simplify: −3 × 8 + 20 ÷ 5

24. Find the value of x: 2x + 5 = 19

25. Draw a triangle and label its medians.
