Statement of Purpose
From the beginning of my undergraduate studies, I have been driven by a strong curiosity to
understand how engineering principles can be applied to design efficient, reliable, and
innovative mechanical systems. My interest in Mechanical Engineering developed naturally
through my aptitude for mathematics, mechanics, and problem-solving, and it has
progressively matured into a focused academic and research-oriented ambition. Currently in
my seventh semester of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, I am applying for
the Master of Science program to further develop my expertise in additive manufacturing, finite
element analysis, and heat transfer, with particular emphasis on engineering design
optimization and applied research.

Throughout my undergraduate education, I have maintained a strong academic record,

currently holding a CGPA of 3.83, the highest in my class, with the expectation of graduating
as a gold medalist. My strongest performance has consistently been in core mechanical
engineering subjects, including Finite Element Analysis, Mechanics of Materials, Statics, and
advanced 3D Modeling laboratories. These courses strengthened my analytical thinking and
allowed me to translate theoretical concepts into practical engineering solutions. While my
grades in non-core theoretical subjects such as sociology and entrepreneurship were
comparatively lower, this was due to differences in evaluation style rather than conceptual
difficulty. Importantly, my academic excellence in technically demanding mechanical courses
accurately reflects my preparation and readiness for graduate-level study.

My research interests are centered on design optimization and advanced manufacturing. At

present, I am actively working on the optimization of a biomedical knee implant using ANSYS,
where I develop CAD geometries and perform structural, stress, and performance-based
analyses to improve safety factors and material efficiency. This project has deepened my
interest in the application of finite element methods to biomedical engineering problems and
has reinforced my motivation to pursue advanced research at the graduate level. In parallel, my
interest in heat and mass transfer focuses on improving industrial condenser designs to enhance
thermal performance and energy efficiency, particularly in large-scale thermal systems.

In the domain of additive manufacturing, my academic curiosity extends beyond conventional

applications. I am particularly interested in developing hybrid additive manufacturing
techniques, including the conceptual exploration of systems capable of printing both polymers
and metals within a single platform through controlled temperature variation and process
optimization. This interdisciplinary interest connects materials science, thermal control, and
manufacturing systems, making graduate study essential for its rigorous investigation.

My academic projects reflect both depth and breadth in mechanical engineering. These include
reverse engineering and complete technical documentation of a gas iron, the design and
assembly of an acid storage tank using SolidWorks, and the development of detailed CAD
models for a smog control tower aimed at air purification. I have also worked on embedded
and computational projects, such as an ultrasonic distance measurement and smoke detection
system using Arduino and MATLAB, and a precision-manufactured aluminum gear produced
through lathe, milling, and drilling operations. Beyond coursework, I have completed over
forty professional SolidWorks projects for clients, including biomedical implant modeling, 3D
printing design solutions, a solar-powered fish feeder, optimization of a car nut opener by
reducing material while increasing factor of safety, and the design of a cam-based pressing
machine. These experiences significantly enhanced my design intuition, problem-solving
ability, and professional discipline.

My technical preparation is supported by extensive software proficiency. I am experienced in

ANSYS, SolidWorks, MATLAB, CATIA, and simulation-based design workflows, and I hold
multiple professional certifications, including SOLIDWORKS CAD Design Professional
(CSWP), CATIA Professional Certification, Vibration Analysis Category I, and specialized
certifications in additive manufacturing, renewable energy systems, and heavy manufacturing.
These certifications complement my academic training and demonstrate my commitment to
continuous learning and technical excellence.

Industrial exposure has further strengthened my understanding of real-world engineering

systems. During my internship at Toyota Multan Motors, I gained hands-on experience in
automotive maintenance, engine overhauling, precision machining, and pre-delivery
inspections. At GENCO-III Thermal Power Plant, I worked across boiler, auxiliary, and water
treatment sections, developing a practical understanding of thermal systems, energy
conversion, and plant reliability. Additional internships at DG Cement and AlAkbari Houses
and Builders exposed me to large-scale industrial operations and professional mechanical
drafting for real clients. These experiences confirmed my desire to pursue advanced technical
roles that integrate analysis, design, and applied research.

Beyond academics and industry, I have also contributed as an instructor, teaching CAD
modeling and Engineering Dynamics to students in person. This experience strengthened my
conceptual clarity, communication skills, and confidence, while reinforcing my interest in
mentoring and collaborative research environments. I consider myself a curious, hardworking,
and fast learner, qualities that are essential for success in a demanding graduate program.

I am particularly interested in the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the

University of North Texas due to its strong emphasis on applied research, advanced
manufacturing, and engineering technology. The research interests of Dr. Marinela Peto at the
Department of Engineering Technology closely align with my focus on additive manufacturing,
design optimization, and advanced engineering analysis. The opportunity to work in a research-
driven environment that integrates modern manufacturing technologies with analytical rigor
strongly motivates my application. I am confident that the academic structure, laboratory
facilities, and faculty expertise at the University of North Texas will allow me to grow into a
capable researcher and advanced design engineer.
In conclusion, my academic preparation, research-driven mindset, strong technical skills, and
industrial exposure have equipped me with the foundation necessary to succeed in graduate
school. I am highly motivated, focused, and prepared to meet the challenges of an MS program,
and I am committed to contributing meaningfully to research in mechanical engineering. I
believe that graduate study at the University of North Texas will be a critical step in my
professional and academic development, and I respectfully submit my application for your
consideration.
