NOTICE
As per academic regulations of the Institute, the 6th Semester [Link]./[Link]./Dual Degree [Link]./
Integrated [Link]. and the 2nd Semester MBA/MSc/MA students are required to undertake Short Term
Industrial or Research Experience (SIRE) Program for a period of at least 8 weeks duration during
Summer Vacation of academic year 2017-18. The experience should preferably be earned in an
industry of repute, major R & D laboratory, IIT, NIT, or IISc. The Training & Placement Department is
consistently taking steps to get such training accommodation in industries/ organizations which will be
notified soon after a confirmation is received. The available seats will be allotted on the basis of merit
and preference. Once a seat is allotted, it cannot be altered or withdrawn except in special
circumstances by discretion of the undersigned.
Besides, the students who are interested to undertake such training/ research experience at their own
choice in a reputed organization/ industry suitable to their disciplines are advised to get their
applications recommended from Training & Placement Centre in the prescribed format (copy
attached) duly forwarded by their HODs. Though there is no time limit, however the students are
advised to get it done as soon as possible as the industries/ organizations will be getting a large
number of applications from all over the country. The second or third application may be
recommended on the basis of intimating the status of earlier application or after a reasonable
gap period of one month. No individual recommendation will be given to RSP Rourkela, HAL
Sunabeda and few Public Sector Undertakings.
Any change of industries/organizations for training work must be approved by the HOD, T & P on the
merit of case. Any training taken at a place not approved/recommended in advance will not
count towards credit requirement.
