Rules for Starting a Car (Step-by-Step)
1. Before Starting the Vehicle
a. Seat Adjustment
Adjust the seat so you can press the clutch fully.
Hands should comfortably reach the steering wheel.
b. Mirror Adjustment
Adjust both side mirrors.
Adjust the rear-view mirror to see clearly behind.
c. Seat Belt
Wear seat belt before starting the car.
2. Starting the Vehicle
a. Key Positions
Position 1: Steering lock release
Position 2: Ignition ON (Signals, dashboard lights, airbag light
turn on)
Position 3: Start the engine (Ensure lights are on short (low
beam) before starting)
Note :- Clutch – Neutral – Start (Press the clutch fully - Make sure the gear is
in neutral)
3. After Starting the Engine
Press the clutch
Shift to first gear.
Slowly release clutch to half clutch point.
Moving the Vehicle Forward
Give right indicator
Check:
Front
Back
Side mirrors
Blind spot
Ensure it is safe to move.
Keep the vehicle to the left side of the road.
Slowly release the clutch.
Gradually press the accelerator and increase speed smoothly.
Changing to Second Gear
Press clutch fully
Shift to second gear
Release:
90% clutch
10% accelerator
