“Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Meera Al Mehairbi, and today I will
be presenting a summary of my internship experience in the Strategy and
Investment Sector at ADNEC.
This presentation will cover the institution I worked in, my routine, the
leadership I worked under, the experiences and challenges I faced, and
finally, the organizational culture and communication structure I
observed.”
Slide 2 — About the Institution
“ADNEC (the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) is a leading
organization that develops and hosts major exhibitions, conferences, and
economic events locally and internationally.
The Strategy and Investment department plays a key role in supporting
decision-making within the company. It focuses on strategic analysis,
studying markets, reviewing performance indicators, and supporting the
different clusters under ADNEC Group.
During my internship, I learned how strategy connects to the larger goals
of the organization and how data supports long-term planning.”
Slide 3 — My Daily Tasks
“My daily routine included several responsibilities that helped me build
strong research and analytical skills.
I worked on KPI research, benchmarking, and studying external companies
to find meaningful comparisons. I also supported the team with data
collection, slide preparation, and internal presentations.
Every week, we had scheduled meetings to present updates, review our
work, and receive feedback.
I also interacted with different departments to gather information.
Slide 4 — Leadership
“One of the most important parts of my internship was the leadership I
experienced.
My supervisor, Mr. Mohamed, played a major role in my development. His
leadership style was very educational and supportive. Since my
background is in International Relations, this field was completely new for
me. He understood that, and he took extra time to explain concepts
clearly. Even though he was very busy, he always made time for us
usually once or twice a week to have a meeting and review our progress
in detail. He also gave calm feedback whenever I made mistakes, which
helped me learn without feeling stressed.
This experience taught me a lot about transformational leadership, and it
showed me the type of leader I hope to become one day.”
Slide 5 — Experiences, Challenges & Growth
“Throughout my internship, I gained many important experiences.
I learned how to analyze KPIs, compare benchmarks, and understand
strategic data. I also improved my Excel skills, presentation skills, and
teamwork abilities.
But I also faced challenges. Because this field is completely different from
my university major, many concepts were new to me. I had to learn how
to find reliable sources, how to structure data, and how to manage several
tasks at the same time.
These challenges helped me grow. I became more confident, more
organized, and more comfortable working independently.
Slide 6 — Organizational Culture & Communication
“The workplace culture at ADNEC was very professional and focused on
results and goals. At the same time, it encouraged learning and
teamwork.
The environment was supportive, and I always felt that I could ask
questions whenever I needed help.
In terms of communication, I observed all levels:
Upward communication, when we submitted progress updates to
our supervisor.
Downward communication, when we received instructions and
feedback.
And horizontal communication, when we worked with other
interns and other departments.
~This experience helped me understand how communication flows
in a large organization and how important clarity and teamwork
are.~

“In conclusion, this internship was a very important step in my personal
and professional growth. It helped me discover new skills, understand the
workplace better, and become more confident in my future career plans.
