Theory Course Code: BS203 Theory Course Name: Differential Equations & Linear Algebra L T P
Course Offered in: CSE/IT/CS-AI/CS-AIML/CS-DS/EC 3 1 0
Course Objectives:
The objective of the course Differential Equations & Linear Algebra enable students to understand the fundamental concepts of
differential equations and linear algebra, and their significance in modelling real-world problems. It aims to develop analytical skills to
formulate, solve, and interpret various types of differential equations and gain proficiency in linear algebraic methods. It will provide
appropriate tools and techniques such as linear transformations to solve engineering and scientific problems which integrate their
knowledge of linear algebra and differential equations to analyse systems of linear differential equations.
Course Outcome: After completion of the course, the student will be able to
1. CO1: Find/State/Define (L1- Remember) key linear algebra concepts such as vector space, state basic theorems and the
basic terms and concepts of differential equations.
2. CO2: Discuss/Explain/Describe (L2-Understand) various variables involved in differential equations and the structure of
vector spaces and subspaces.
3. CO3: Apply/Use (L3-Apply) the concepts to solve various problems of differential equations, vector space and linear
transformation to solve engineering problems.
4. CO4: Test (L4-Analyze) to evaluate (L5-Evaluate) the value of variables involved in various problems of differential
equations, explain relationships among vector subspaces, solve problems involving orthogonality and diagonalization, and
verify (Evaluate) the validity of theoretical results using appropriate proofs.
