SSC CGL Mathematics – Quick Notes (All

Chapters)

1. Percentage
• Percentage = (Value / Total) × 100
• x% of y = (x/100) × y
• Increase % = (Increase / Original) × 100
• Decrease % = (Decrease / Original) × 100

2. Ratio and Proportion


• Ratio of a:b = a/b
• Proportion: a:b = c:d
• Componendo: (a+b)/b = (c+d)/d
• Dividendo: (a-b)/b = (c-d)/d

3. Average
• Average = Sum of observations / Number of observations
• Total sum = Average × Number of items

4. Profit and Loss


• Profit = SP − CP
• Loss = CP − SP
• Profit % = (Profit / CP) × 100
• Loss % = (Loss / CP) × 100

5. Simple Interest
• SI = (P × R × T) / 100
• Amount = P + SI

6. Compound Interest
• Amount = P(1 + R/100)^T
• CI = Amount − Principal

7. Time and Work


• Work = Rate × Time
• If A does work in x days → 1 day work = 1/x

8. Time Speed Distance


• Speed = Distance / Time
• Distance = Speed × Time
• Time = Distance / Speed

9. Algebra
• (a + b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab
• (a − b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 − 2ab
• a^2 − b^2 = (a − b)(a + b)

10. Geometry
• Sum of angles of triangle = 180°
• Sum of interior angles of polygon = (n−2)×180

11. Mensuration
• Area of rectangle = l × b
• Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height
• Volume of cube = a³

12. Trigonometry
• sinθ = Perpendicular / Hypotenuse
• cosθ = Base / Hypotenuse
• tanθ = Perpendicular / Base

13. Data Interpretation


• Questions based on tables, graphs, charts
• Focus on percentage, ratio, and averages
