Answer any SIX questions.
Question paper consists of four SECTIONS i.e. A, B, C and D.
Section A is compulsory.
Attempt minimum one question each from Sections B, C, D.
The figures in the margin indicate full marks.
Candidates are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable
and all parts of a question should be answered at one place only.

SECTION-A
1. Answer the following questions. [1  10]
(a) Compare a conductor with a semiconductor with
example.
(b) For a silicon diode at a working temperature 270c, the
forward voltage applied across the diode is 0.5v. Find
its forward current if the reverse saturation current is
10nA.
(c) Explain difference between drift current and diffusion
current.
(d) If the value of α is 0.98. Find the value of β and ϒ.
(e) What is biasing? Why do we need biasing in BJT?
(f) Outline the transfer characteristics of an n-channel
EMOSFET.
(g) List the characteristics of an ideal OPAMP.
