"Good morning, Class"
"Good morning, Sir"
2. Prayer
"Before we start our discussion, let’s first ask
guidance and pray to God for today. (Call one
student to lead the prayer.)"
(One student leads the prayer)
3. Classroom Management
“Before you sit down, kindly arrange your chairs
properly and pick up any trash around you."
(Students arrange chairs and clean surroundings)
4. Check of Attendance
"Do we have any absentees for today?"
"None, Sir"
"Alright very good! I’m happy that you are all
present today."
Before we proceed, I will read first our Classroom
Rules
• Behave in your seat
• Listen carefully
• Cooperate to your teacher
• Focus on your work
"Yes Teacher"
B. MOTIVATION
"So, let’s begin our discussion for today. Our lesson
is about reading and writing numbers from 1 to 100
in symbols and in words. But before we start, we
are going to watch a video clip first, and later on,
we are going to sing."
Present the video on television
([Link]
(Students will watch the video)
" That was a good one, children. Now, let’s move
forward and have a group activity. I will divide you
into four groups."
1. Activity
"We will call this Activity as:
("The Number Word Bingo")
Directions: For each group, I will give a 3×3 bingo "Listening"
card containing nine random numbers from 1 to
100 (in symbols). Then, when I show a number
word (e.g., “twenty-three”), you will place a stone
on the corresponding number if it appears on your
card. The first group to complete a pattern or get
three marks in a row (horizontal, vertical, or
diagonal) should shout, “BINGO!”
"Is that clear children?"
"Yes teacher"
"Now let's start our Activity, and we begin on the
Word Number.... (Randomly Picking Number
Word)
(The students will find if they have that number in
their card)
2. Analysis
“Let’s check our winner's card.”
“When I say the Number Word (ex. twenty-five),
what is the first thing that comes on your mind
before you put the stone on your card?"
"Teacher the number 20 and 5"
" Yes, that’s a good one. Since we are going to write
25, we remove the zero from 20 because there is a
remaining 5. So, we now write it as 25.
"Very good! Now let's give him/her a "three" (Write
it on the board) Clap!"
(Clap 3 times)
"Now, class, why is it important to listen to the
whole word? What happens if you only hear 'seven'
and don't wait for 'seventy'?"
"We might get the wrong number if we don't listen
well teacher"
"Alright Very Good!"
"Let's do more, I will be showing/writing a Number (Attentively Listening)
Word on the board/tv and tell me what symbols that
is, and vice versa I will write a Number Symbol and
you guys tell me what the Number word of it is."
(Showing number symbols/words)
(Pupils will raise their hand)
(Pick one student)
(answers)
(Explain the answer of the student)
3. Abstraction
"Every number has a Symbol (the digit) and a Word
(its name)."
(Listening, and looking at the chart)
"Look at our chart. (Show the 1-100 chart). Let's (Attentively Listening)
look at the 'Teen' family. They start with 1. (ex. 13 -
thirteen). Now look at the 'Ty' family. They usually
end in 0. (ex. 20 - twenty)."
"Always remember children in writing number
words from 21 to 99, we use a hyphen (-).
Example: thirty-one. Can you see the little dash in
the middle?"
"Yes Teacher"
"That is used to separate the number word (ex. (Listening)
thirty-one) so that we can easily identify the
number symbol. That is a symbol of 3 and 1 and
when they combine it will become 31 (Thirty-one).
Did you get it?"
"Yes teacher"
4. Application
"Now that you know how to write Number (Listening and bringing out their own stuff)
Symbols and Identify Number Words, let's try this
again. I will be writing a Number Symbols, and a
Number words. Then tell me where they belong, a
'TEEN FAMILY' or 'TY FAMILY'.
"Let's try, first is 'Twenty'"
(raising their hands)
(Pick student)
"It's TY Family teacher"
"Good job, let's give him 5 claps"
"Next is, Nineteen"
(Raising their hands)
(Pick one student)
"Teen Family teacher"
"Very good, alright let's count and give her/him a 5
claps'
"Now that I think you've mastered our lesson today,
let's give ourselves 10 claps, and I wanted you to
count loudly"
(Claps 10x and count 1-10)
