CREATING E-CONTENT FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING LEARNING IN
CLASSROOM
Module Overview: This module aims to equip key resource persons with the necessary skills
and knowledge to in today’s technology-driven education system, Creating E-Content has
become a vital component for enhancing the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the
classroom. The digital shift has empowered teachers to move beyond traditional chalk-and-talk
methods, enabling them to deliver engaging, interactive, and flexible learning experiences.
Learning Outcomes
After the completion of the module the participants will be able to:
1. Understand the significance of e Content for effective teaching and learning in classroom
2. Identify various forms of e content.
3. Define the ADDIE Model and its five phases.
4. Design e-Content for effective classroom teaching.

QUIZ: Digital Initiatives by the Ministry of Education
Objective: Trainees will identify the name of digital education initiatives/tools based on the
logos.
Instructions:
Show each logo.( DIKSHA, PM eVIDYA, ePathshala)
Ask students to identify the name of the digital initiative.
Optionally, ask them to share what they know about the initiative (e.g., purpose, target
audience).
Introduction
In today's digital age, the role of technology in education has become increasingly crucial,
transforming traditional teaching and learning methods. The need for e-content in education is
growing, especially as technology becomes a bigger part of our lives. Traditional teaching
methods often struggle to keep students engaged, and e-content helps solve this problem by
making learning more interactive and accessible. With e-content, students can learn anytime and
anywhere, even outside the classroom. It also supports different learning styles, offering videos,
games, and quizzes to help all kinds of learners. Teachers can easily update and share content,
making sure it stays relevant. During times like the COVID-19 pandemic, e-content became
crucial for continuing education when schools were closed. By using e-content, students not only
learn better but also gain important digital skills that will help them in the future.
What is e-content ?
e -Content is any form of learning material available digitally which a learner access or interacts
with so as to achieve related learning outcomes.
Why e-Content for Students?
e Content is becoming popular because it allows flexibility in terms of time, place and pace of
learning. A resource rich environment is necessary for teaching and learning to be effective.
However, many of the educational resources are not easily accessible because of issues related to
copyright. Hence, there is a movement to produce learning resources and make them available
with open licenses which are known as Open Educational Resources (OER). Open Educational
Resources (OER) are freely available. If used appropriately, digital learning resources can add
considerable value to the quality of teaching and to the learners’ experience. E Content is often
made up of separate units or a combination of text, video, images and sound. These are the
building blocks which are often used to make composite learning objects that can be exhibited in
various presentation formats. Depending on the nature of the content and purpose of the
resource, one can choose the presentation format while developing the e Content.
Various forms of e Content are shown below:
Process of developing e Content
e- Content design, development depends upon the nature of the content and its target learners..
Instructional design is the practice of creating instructional experiences that make the acquisition
of knowledge and skill more efficient, effective and appealing. The process broadly consists of
determining the current status of learners’ understanding, defining the end goal of the
instructional material and creating some ‘intervention’ to assist the transaction. This systematic
approach provides a step by step process for the analysis of the learners’ needs, the design and
development of the material. One of the most generic, common and popular approaches for
instructional design is ADDIE.
ADDIE MODEL
The ADDIE Model is a systematic instructional design framework used to create effective
educational and training programs. It stands for Analysis, Design, Development,
Implementation, and Evaluation. Each phase helps guide the creation and delivery of content to
ensure learning objectives are met.
1. Analysis: Understand the learning needs, goals, and audience.
Key Activities:
Identify the problem or training need
Define learning objectives
Analyze learners’ background, knowledge, and learning environment
2. Design: Plan how the content will be structured and delivered.
Key Activities:
Design the course structure
Select delivery methods (videos, e-learning, lectures)
Create assessment strategies (quizzes, assignments)
3. Development: Create and assemble the actual content and learning materials.
Key Activities:
Develop e-content (slides, videos, activities)
Build online modules or course platforms
Test content for functionality and accuracy
4. Implementation: Deliver the course or training to learners.
Key Activities:
Roll out the content via platforms (LMS, in-person sessions)
Train instructors or facilitators (if needed)
Ensure technical support is in place
5. Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness and impact of the training.
Key Activities:
Gather feedback from learners and instructors
Measure learning outcomes and performance
Revise content based on feedback for continuous improvement
