"Everything happens for our own good" is a fifth-grade lesson that has stayed with me.

I always
believed this quote to be a game changer in my life.

Since childhood, I have been inclined towards biology and wanted it to be a part of my career, and
as I believe everything happens for my good, I took the chance to pursue dentistry. I completed
my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Swargiya Dadasheb Kalmegh Dental College and Hospital,
Hingna, India, situated in the rural area of Maharashtra state. With consistency and verily, I stood
out in my academic and co-curricular performances and have upgraded my knowledge and
exposure to the current healthcare system.

During my graduation period, I carried out a variety of procedures which included Dental
checkups, Clinical training, patient Counseling, and Dental awareness programs for Tobacco and
Oral Cancer. They say Oral Health = Overall Health it made more and more sense as I observed
people's eating habits around India. My college is located in the central part of India where the
consumption of tobacco in various forms is a common practice even among younger children. This
made me realize the lack of health awareness, education, and resources among natives which
developed the urge within me to work for it.

During graduation, I was an active member and student body secretary of JCI Nagpur Medico
under which I was a part of various health programs such as Pregathon, Covid Vaccination drive,
Covi Tales international conclave, Oral cancer awareness program, and many more in conjunction
I was a part of a mental health organization Dear Mind under which various mental health
programs were conducted. During my internship, I volunteered for Masika Mahotsav under which
various menstrual health awareness drives were conducted in and around Nagpur.

The year 2019 was not only the year that brought a lethal pandemic but also the one that brought
a wave of realization about the poor management and lack of health awareness in the healthcare
industry. On one hand, where our doctors and healthcare workers were working day in and day
out to save the lives of their patients somewhere, a dearth of proper education and help acted as a
constraint. During my volunteer work at Nagpur Municipal Corporation through Covid times I got
a chance to closely observe the ongoing situation and recognize the actual problems faced by
common people such as fear of getting vaccinated, unawareness of appropriate medications etc.
and how much it is important to address these issues.

In the year 2021 I lost my childhood friend, she died of cardiac arrest which could have been
prevented by CPR. This incident made me realize the importance of public health awareness, and
the basics by which such incidents can be prevented. Henceforth, after a lot of brainstorming and
research, I have finalized my higher studies that are related to my present qualification and
experience i.e., Mater's in Public Health.

The United Kingdom is well known for the best healthcare system in the world and compared
internationally for its advanced upstanding technologies, which provoked me to opt for this
destination. It offers students the opportunity to gain an internationally recognized and respected
academic qualification. Studying in the UK will provide a wider variety of courses, including
research options and skill-based training for students. It helps expand students' horizons and opens
up a world of new educational opportunities. Not only this, but specific programs allow you to
take different courses simultaneously. It's a beautiful place to study because of its high-quality
educational infrastructure, world-class teaching methodology, rich heritage, diverse culture and
wants to explore the region.

The program, I believe, will help me design, execute, and grow public health policies that are
tailored to individual situations and conditions. During my search for the university, I came across
different potential universities in the UK providing the same course, but I believe the University
of Glasgow is the best option for me. Studying at the University of Glasgow which has a diverse
population, will broaden my perspective while indulging in the global section of the healthcare
industry. I am convinced of the university’s extensive curriculum, experienced faculty,
laboratories, and research and internship opportunities. I wholeheartedly want to be a part of your
university which has the potential to show me the path toward success and a bright future. This
specific course is also helpful in establishing a very potent and specific way of functioning
healthcare sectors around the world, which can change the health sectors of countries lacking in
providing minimal healthcare facilities to their own workers. The core modules like Introduction
to Epidemiology, Introduction to Statistical Methods, Mph Research Project, and Principles
of Public Health, along with the Dissertation will make me completely ready to fight the health
care challenges.

Connecting with people of divergent cultural backgrounds will pave my way to a better
understanding of factors such as empathy and compassion. Hence, approaching a problem through
a whole spectrum will lead to outstanding preventive and interceptive care. I aim to develop
underdeveloped sections of the healthcare sector. The zeal to learn new skills via this program will
be beneficial for me to make a huge difference in society by bringing a positive change in my
country, enabling the unprivileged to access the facilities provided and accruing a healthy
environment all over the nation and someday in the world.
