Nomenclature: INNPM01, INNPM11
Subject: Node Performance Statistics Reporting
INNPM01 firmware revisions C.1 and higher are capable of providing Node Performance Statistics.
The purpose of the node performance statistics is to provide various node-related information indicative of a nodes dynamic performance/utilization. This information
is provided by a node's communication module as fixed block outputs to allow access via existing system functions. This information may be used as an aid for
troubleshooting system problems, fine-tuning system configurations, etc.
A node's performance statistics information is available from the INNPM01 module as fixed block outputs. Remote access (via INFINET) to these block outputs is
through module address 0. These block outputs ARE accessible locally from the module bus (with CTM, SPM, MPF, etc.). Local access (via the module bus) to
these block outputs is through the NPM01's physical module address. The INNPM01 only reports Node Statistics block outputs when on-line and in primary mode.
Each block output is readable using existing functions for reading fixed block outputs. Block outputs read directly shall return the value of the block output available at
the time of the read. All block output values shall be type REAL4, but values will always be provided as whole numbers (no fractional part). The following table
summarizes the block outputs that shall be provided:
BLOCK NUMBER DESCRIPTION
1 Total Loop Bytes/Sec - Total number of bytes transmitted (forwarded and originated) by this node per second.
2 Total Loop Messages/Sec - Total number of Messages transmitted by this node per second.
3 Incoming Bytes/Sec - Total number of bytes received by (destined for) this node per second.
4 Outgoing Bytes/Sec - Total number of bytes sent (originated) by this node per second.
5 Incoming Messages/Sec - Total number of messages received by this node per second.
6 Outgoing Messages/Sec - Total number of messages sent by this node per second.
7 Incoming Exception Reports/Sec - Number of Exception Report messages received by this node per second.
8 Outgoing Exception Reports/Sec - Number of Exception Report messages sent by this node per second.
9 Incoming GMI/Sec - Number of GMI (general) messages received per second.
10 Outgoing GMI/Sec - Number of GMI (general) messages sent per second.
11 Comm. Module Utilization (%) - Percentage of this node's communication module processing power currently being used.
Bytes/Sec from NIS - Total number of bytes transferred on the Expander bus from NIS to the communications module per
12 second.
Bytes/Sec from NIS - Total number of bytes transferred on the Expander bus to the NIS from the communications module per
13 second.
Messages/Sec from NIS - Total number of messages transferred on the Expander bus from NIS to the communications module
14 per second.
Messages/Sec to NIS - Total number of messages transferred on the Expander bus to the NIS from the communications module
15 per second.
Bytes/Sec from Module bus - Total number of bytes received from module bus per second (includes bytes of messages received
16 and replies received).
Bytes/Sec to Module bus - Total number of bytes sent to module bus per second (includes bytes of messages sent and replies
17 sent).
18 Messages/Sec from Modules bus - Total number of messages received from module bus per second.
19 Messages/Sec to Module bus - Total number of messages sent to module bus per second.
20 - 25 Spare outputs for future use. Values of 0.0 shall be found at each of these outputs.
