Below is the estimated income from upon proper implementation per season (approximately 8-10
months).
Estimated income from the tomato harvest
= 1.8-2.5 tonnes
Depending on the market price, tomatoes retail at an average of KSh 100-120
Therefore
On the lower side (1.8 x 1000 x 100) = KSh 180,000 per greenhouse (KSh 1.8 Million for 10
greenhouses)
On the upper side (2.5 x 1000 x 120) = KSh 300,000 per greenhouse (KSh 3 million for 10
greenhouses)
Prepared by Onyansi Caleb (Agricultural Resources Consultant): onyansicaleb@[Link]
Profit = Ksh 128,500 – 248, 500 per Greenhouse
Notes
- It is also estimated that by the end of the second season, the income can cover the cost of
installation and running the project.
- The subsequent seasons shall help the local members expand their farms, get more
income and support their families, the church and the society in general.
The aim of the projects is for poverty eradication among the members and the locals.

Feb 2019 fish pond Construction
March 2019, Introduction of fingerlings into the pond
Below is the estimated income from upon proper implementation per season (approximately 8-9
months).
Estimated income for the fish project
The survival of fingerlings to maturity is estimated at 89%,
Therefore, 4650 fish will be harvested.
The current fish market price ranges from KSh 100 -150 (KSh 120 on average)
Total income; 120 x 4650 = 558,000, therefore, 558,000 – 146,600 = 411,400
Profit = KSh 411,400 per Greenhouse
Notes
- More cost may be incurred for refrigeration services and transport to the market.
- Purchasing a single cub truck with refrigeration equipment shall cost approximately KSh
1.5 million to KSh 1.8 million.
