Cell Phone: A Beautiful Enclosure

Mabrooka Noman

In the modern time, many latest devices have taken over the world, among them the device that is in
one everyone’s use is mobile phone. Mobiles play an essential role in everyone’s life, either in the field
of business, medicine, marketing or just day to day communication. some people believe that mobile
phone are destructive as young people develop insecurities, they begin to hate themselves and always
feel inferior! While others consider it a way to bring back smiles of the faces of long distance family
members after seeing each other or talking to them. I am inclined to agree with the former perspective
because younger generation has stopped listening to elders which makes their parents disappointed and
worried about their child.

According to some people, the overuse of mobile phones had made young people ignore others and is
bringing changes in their behaviors. Without question, I concur with the assertion that younger people
hate their elders being around them or instructing them. In order to maintain their social status they
make their parents or grandparents move to old age homes. Imagine being hated by the ones you
raised. The old age homes are filled with the people who wished to see their child success not knowing
that their success would end up as their parents in old age home. Secondly, it is claimed that mobile
phones are developing the mindsets of young people in such ways that they are becoming cold-hearted
and it doesn’t bother them if they are disturbing others. The data overwhelmingly confirms that their
rude behavior results in them struggling to make friends and they end up being isolated. This is the time
we should work together and not let any other person suicide due to being alone! Additionally, many
people describe that families are being replaced by mobile phones. Undeniably, the evidence supports
that people are starting to hate their own family members. The dinner tables are more of people using
phones than a family! The disputes effects the mental health of one and all.

In contrast, the other group of people claim that mobile phones have ensured freedom and
independence. While I respect the viewpoint, I must respectfully disagree as mobile phones are acting as
beautiful enclosures for the young people. They forget the knowledge and wisdom they gain through
teachers and parents but they believe only in whatever they see online. Secondly, people claim it to be a
rich source of information. Upon careful consideration I dissent from the notion that their behavior
reflects the information and content they consume. Indeed mobile phones provide information but
doesn’t it matter that what kind of information they pr1vide? Additionally people consider phones to
improve their status in the society. I find it difficult to reconcile with the assertion that as on one hand if
it improves one’s status, it also discriminates others; it makes people hate themselves, feel insecure and
even harm themselves!

In conclusion the younger people are being misguided. They are considering mobile as their guardian or
instructor and forgetting the efforts of their hardworking teachers and parents. The cyber bullying is a
main cause for the increase rates of suicide. People hate themselves, shouldn’t we take it as a warning.
Our present is looking good but our future is in danger. People are developing lox attention spans and
they find it hard to talk with someone politely. Is it what we aimed for? We should work together now
and make sure no child cries neither whole night due to feeling inferior nor a mother should cry silently
after seeing her kid behaving rudely. Let us make sure the content a child consumes is beneficial nor
destructive.
